I've been watching the uncut video that Noway linked to in post #361.
In it, the deputy giving the briefing is asked by a reporter about the alleged attempted abduction that occurred 10 days earlier (you have to play the video w/ the volume on high or the reporter's question can't be heard clearly) and his response is that he "can't comment on it at this time..."
IMO, he was apparently instructed to not address questions regarding that incident, because he answered the question without hesitation. IOW, he didn't seem taken aback when the question came up.
