Here's an interesting possible, just added today to NamUs:

* She is missing from Tampa (about 65 miles from Lake Panasoffkee)

* Her height (5'5") is within range (5'2" to 5'5")

She married A.T. Duggan on 02-Jan-1970.

Hey Carl! I was looking for a photo or Alexis, and found this, and it makes no sense to me. I'm sure data gets misentered all the time, but 1993?? Huh?

That record appears to indicate a 1970 case number (70-27207), so I would suspect that the 1993 DLC is incorrect.

Also, while looking for photos of her, I found a photo of her second husband in a 1961 yearbook. That, and the marriage and divorce dates, and the info about leaving an infant behind supports the earlier date .

6/23/1993 was probably the day they filled out that report and they just entered it in both spots.

Carl,

Excellent find. I have sent requests to UNT to compare DNA on each case. I'll let you know the results when I get them.

If anyone is interested, the DOB on Alexis Duggan (AKA Alexis Yerby, AKA Alexis Godwin) is 21-Feb-1951.

She was married to an A.T.Duggan according to knowx. Mr Duggan has a very lengthy arrest history including federal weapons charges in the 90's which made the news.

Hi there Carl. Sounds like a promising find. I am wondering what is the significance of her maiden named being Godwin?

No significance. I just bolded her apparent maiden name to assist anyone who might want to do further research.

I e-mailed this in to Michael Nance. He replied as follows:

I take it you haven't heard anything back from Michael Nance?

They both have DNA on file, you would think they would be able to make a fast comparison...

I just finished reading this article, but I have to go run some important errands, so I didn't have time to check if this is a case here. So I am posting the link to have it. So if anyone wants to see if this matches up with one if our UI cases that would be great!

Never mind! I found it!
FL FL - Lake Panasoffkee in Sumter County - "Little Miss Panasoffkee", 18-23, Feb 1971 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

"On the victim, when she was discovered, on the victim's left wrist, she was wearing a 17-jewel Baylor watch," said Detective Darren Norris. "Facial features are very strong. She does have the long, dark hair, some more jewelry that she did have on, you can see here, there's a very thin, gold chain that she had on at the time of her death. And also on her left ring finger she did have a gold ring with a clear stone."

Kimmerle re-created the woman's plaid pants and green and white floral shawl – the entire outfit – from poor-quality autopsy photos.
Two hitchhikers found her body underneath the bridge back in 1971. Investigators suspect she'd been in the water at least 30 days. She'd been strangled with a belt that was wrapped tightly around her neck.

Info is from above article.

This case was presented yesterday on a Greek TV-Show investigating missing persons cases.

A woman called and said she identified this Jane Doe as a former classmate and friend. They were attending a prep school for legal migrants, located in Kifisia (suburb in Athens, Greece), teaching home economics and preparing the students to be sent off to the USA and Australia with a 2 year contract for work. This school was funded by the ‪International Organization for Migration‬.

Here is a link to an article detailing the immigration program's work (through google translate):

The woman that called said that her classmate was called Konstantina and had a brother serving in the Navy near Lavrio. They lost contact when the caller was sent to Australia and Konstantina was sent to the USA for work. The caller also mentioned that she had photos of that era and she would try to find them and see if Konstantina was in any of them.

This is the link of the TV Show's page on this case:
