I'm researching missing persons in the Panhandle of Florida, and Andrea Durham has been on my list as a possible victim of a serial killer. He has been known to have relatives in the Tampa and Orlando areas and may be linked to another case around Orlando. Could this be Andrea? She went missing in February 1990. Also, since they have DNA on file for this Jane Doe, can they not trace her ancestry?

Genetic genealogy typically requires a different kind of DNA than the kind taken for CODIS. So they usually have to take new samples for that. Which unfortunately isn't cheap.

I would definitely contact Tampa LE about Andrea. She’s always been in my mind for Tampa Girl and I know it could easily be another rule out but I think anything is worth it

I also remember seeing Andrea multiple times when looking for matches. I didn't pay too much attention as at the time I was looking for possibilities without DNA available.

If she isn't ruled-out by default, it's a good possibility, even if the distance is a bit far.

I agree, I already came up with her in 2000, but I never followed up due to the vague circumstances around Tampa girl.

I guess I can understand why Andrea wasn't on the list as NamUs hasn't updated the date yet but I have no clue about the other girls... Why have a rule-out list if it's only partial!?

We have an email, though if you prefer talking over the phone, I'll add the number on NamUs too.

Got it. Thank you. I called, and ME Investigator Blake Patel was out of the office until next week. They gave me his information, and I sent him an email. It's a long shot, but this person does have ties in the Tampa area, so it's worth a look.

It does make sense. Police seem to believe Andrea ran away initially, but met foul play on the way. It'd make sense that she'd go to her relatives in Tampa/Orlando and may have been murdered, possibly while hitchhiking?

I'm working on an angle that connects her to Deborah Poe's disappearance. The person who may have been responsible for both of their disappearances had a transportation business at the time and was known to go to the Tampa/Orlando area often. He did confess to Deborah Poe's murder but later recanted. He was also known to be friends with Andrea and her family (his son was friends with Andrea). Andrea disappeared Feb 1, 1990 and Deborah disappeared on Feb 4, 1990. The only thing that was bugging me was how Andrea made it to Tampa from the FWB area. I've been trying to connect the dots, and now it's making sense... IF it's her.

Even if Tampa Girl isn't Andrea, then she may still be connected to Deborah's disappearance. It's telling when multiple disappearances have one common individual. Do you have any more info on the mystery person?

I wonder if he knew any other people who vanished or wound up murdered...

Serial killers Mark Riebe and William Alex Wells III. They knew Andrea and she had been to their home to hang out the stepchildren of one of the men prior to her disappearance. They were convicted of killing Donna Callahan, a pregnant woman who vanished from Gulf Breeze, Florida in 1989. Her skeletal remains were found on Well’s parents property in 1996 after he confessed to helping abduct and murder her with Riebe. They are suspects in Deborah Poe’s unsolved abduction as well. Much like Donna Callahan, Poe was taken from her job at a convenience store but she’s never been found.

I had a feeling a serial killer(s) would be involved here...

That's the whole list. Susan Earls is actually a possibility I thought of today while looking at other cases. She's older than most of the girls on the list, though some of them are as old as twenty.

@SimsGuy67 could you add Jennifer Sophia Marteliz to the list of suggestions for Hillsborough County Jane Doe? she disappeared in Tampa and if she had been alive for a few years she would have been about Jane Doe's age.

I normally add the list once per page so the length of each page isn't too long, but she will be on the next suggestion list and if this thread remains active, will likely be made very soon. Here's a comparison between Jennifer and TG:

I do see resemblance. The only problem giving me hold is that Jennifer is biracial. It's very possible the suspect may have kept her alive for a while after she disappeared, though I'm not sure how probable. I've seen stranger things happen though.

While this thread is still on page fifteen, do you think I should do this suggestion list system with other Jane/John Doe's?
