BBM - good question/idea!
Interesting timing - he moves, she goes missing. In many cases I've followed there's been an event this is unique (or something different from the victim's normal routine) that happens shortly before the person goes missing. We have it here in the way of her BF moving. Is it that event that somehow sets in motion whatever happened to her?...

Yes... Could this event in her life (BF moving) have been connected in some way to her disappearance?

good question...

It ties back into the box of clothes question that still bothers me and I can only hope LE followed up on. Supposedly sometime in the day before or the day she disappeared, she picked up a box of clothes from the residence where her boyfriend had been living with a roommate... It seems they were all part of he same social circle.

Channel 3 news says the sheriff department has no reason to believe she is in any danger.
Wonder if they have change their opinion since one month has passed.
But even if she went swimming etc she could be in danger.....seems like an odd statement.

I think her complete phone records will show her last ping before battery died...so if that ping was at the location where her car was found then no one reported it or noticed it I guess.

Being from Florida...Sometime I wonder if Local LE and Local News Outlets sometime try to downplay negative stories that may impact the "Tourist Trade!" If so...Shame on Them!

I was in Panama City Beach over the weekend (BTW....PCB still reeling from the "Para Sailing" accident that almost killed those 2 teen age tourists. Watching those video clips on the news...was so scary! Bless those girl's hearts...praying that they recover fully.)

When I was on the beach, I kept thinking about Tiffany. I am still wondering what the surf conditions were like that afternoon/evening at Pensacola Beach.

Could she have gone for a quick swim by herself and got into trouble?

IIRC close to the time she went missing, that there were lots of TV warning's about "Dangerous Rip Currents" in all the North Florida Gulf waters. They were even showing videos of the way Rip Currents look.

"A rip current is a horizontal current. Rip currents do not pull people under the water–-they pull people away from shore. Drowning deaths occur when people pulled offshore are unable to keep themselves afloat and swim to shore. This may be due to any combination of fear, panic, exhaustion, or lack of swimming skills."

Read & see more at: http://www.ripcurrents.noaa.gov/overview.shtml

Yesterday the Beach Warning Flags were Yellow:

1. Two Red Flags - Dangerous Conditions/Water Closed to Public
2. One Red Flag - High Hazard/High Surf &/or Strong Currents
3. Yellow Flag - Medium Hazard/Moderate Surf &/or Currents
4. Green Flag - Low Hazard - Calm Conditions
5. Purple Flag - Dangerous Marine Life

I just read a few updates on the Find Tiffany Face Book page....(https://www.facebook.com/findtiffany). My heart goes out to her family and friends...They are still posting flyers and trying so hard to keep her face out to the public. They have posted pics of her art work...she is super talented!

I just can not imagine this person parking her car (bike, cell phone & purse inside) and walking/running away from her life. She Did Not Leave of Her Own Accord!

Not a bad theory Steve. The BF moving and her going to pick up the box of cloths may have been two stressors that put this whole thing into motion.

Can you confirm if the toilets were "flush" or "composting pit"

AFAIK, it was they were regular flush toilets. I've never seen composting pit toilets around here, except in port-a-potties.

It has been so long since she disappeared now, I think those ships have sailed in any case. If you parse what they say carefully, they say they have no reason to believe she is in any danger. They might believe she is, but they have no evidence in terms of signs of a struggle or blood or other indications that she has met with foul play, other than the fact that she has simply disappeared. That's what I take it to mean. Which is cold comfort because I don't get any indication that she wanted to disappear.

On question I've been kicking around is would she have been planning to catch a ride with someone to surprise her bf who had moved to Austin? I would think they would've found records of emails or some sort of communications in that case though.

This is a tough one. Still think about it every day. Wonder if there is any chance of getting Feds involved if they aren't already.

Respectfully, BBM. She left work about 15 minutes early that day and hadn't asked for any days off AFAIK, and she seems to be pretty responsible. So, I don't think that's feasible, IMO.

We still don't know what time her car went through the beach toll that night and if she was even driving it. I'm more inclined to think something happened to her in P'Cola and whoever did it put her car there as a diversion.

JMO.

Thanks! That rules out dumping evidence in a pit toilet.

I agree. Since she hadn't asked for time off I didn't put a lot of stock into the trip to Austin idea but at this point I'm kind of getting it all out there.

I thought they said the car went through sometime in the evening that she disappeared but can't find a citation for that right now - even still, it wasn't found until later and as best as I can tell you could drive through that toll booth, hit the beach and turn left and get back to the mainland via another bridge (no toll) and head to parts unknown, then return the car to the beach later as a diversion.

That, or some sort of swimming accident. Around here it seems like near shore drownings tend to wash into the beach but I have no idea about that area, the rip currents, etc.

I wondered about swimming but you would think a towel and keys would have been found near the beach.

Then the couch surfing still has me wondering if any other host members are
missing besides Tiffany

I guess LE has checked out BF apt and roommates...to make sure she left and the times

Forgive me.. I am very far behind

About the clothing...it seems that the roommate is not sure exactly when the box of personal items went missing, just that they were no longer in his apartment two days after her disappearance.
There was no box found in the car , or at least there has been no mention of a box in the car.

Does anyone know what items were picked up?
If she made the effort to go get her things, the box must have had items she wanted to keep.
If nobody knows what was in the box, how do they know she did not take them items home?

Was the key to the roommates apt. on her key chain or did she leave it at his apt?

Who would remove a box of clothing and leave the other things in an unlocked car?

Just a thought...wonder if she dropped them off at a Salvation Army, homeless shelter or Goodwill store? If they were tossed in a dumpster, that evidence is long gone...

Right. The box of clothes aspect, really all we know is that there was a box of clothes she was supposed to pick up from her bf's house (where he no longer lived, having moved to Austin), and the roommate noticed that box was gone shortly after she disappeared, the supposition being that she picked it up during a time he wasn't at home.

Anything else about that box - size, contents, if it was found or not - hasn't been mentioned in the press. Hopefully LE knows or has investigated it.

I'm really curious when she picked them up, if she did, and why she chose to do that when she did...

Glad to have you here, no problem on catching up since when cases move slow I seem to forget more than I knew anyway :floorlaugh:

The box of clothing? that she was supposed to have picked up - strange to my way of thinking. It sounds like she literally had things in a box that she went to get. But, that makes it sound like she lived out of a box at her BF's - wouldn't she have had her things spread throughout the place - some things in a closet, some in a drawer, etc., etc.... and as such would have to go and spend time going thru things, collecting them and then taking them out in a box (one box doesn't sound like much to take)...

How long was it between the time the Bf moved out and she went to the apt to pick up her things?

It does sound like her things were already packed.. roommate said the "box" was there and then it wasn't

I wonder why she didn't take them with her when she packed the box. Or did someone else pack her things.

Not terribly important, just makes me curious

It sort of made sense to me. Her boyfriend lived with a roommate that he worked with, knew from college, etc. I get the feeling from what I have read they were essentially all part of the same social circle. The boyfriend had just moved to Austin to start graduate school.

My speculation: I sort of imagined in his process of cleaning up the apartment / his bedroom and moving out, he found a few items of hers that he placed in a separate box and left for her to pick up. I guess I've done similar sorts of things in the past so it doesn't strike me as "odd" - at least the box of items doesn't.

I see your point about the box being packed in the process of BF packing - logical.

Would think she would have done some backing/sorting things out with BF and would have taken the box while he was there, rather than leaving it... but who knows... just making conversation as a bump to this thread...

Kids (with a few exceptions)from this era leave stuff all over the place..other folks houses..at parents house..etc. More so if they did not pay for it out of their own pocket...

Today we are doing call/write/email news stations to try and get national attention. On Help Find Tiffany facebook page there is a list of address (email) and two samples, one long and one short, of the message they want to get out. If you could take some time today and repost it on your facebook, website or journal etc. I am sure they would greatly appreciate it. Also, if you have facebook you can post it and "tag" the news stations. Please be sure to tag our local WEAR TV3 Pensacola as they have forgot what investigating and reporting is all about. Sorry guys but it is true! I am going to be working this project when I am off of work today.
One other thing I was thinking about is the camp ground at Ft. Pickens. I was wondering how easy it would be to email all the local camp grounds and the ones on I10 and get them to post a missing flyer. The other thing Tiffany's mom came up with was posting them at gas stations along I10 and around. Everyone has to get gas! So if any of you know how to get this done quickly I would greatly appreciate the help!
I work alot and dont have a lot of time off.

As for swimming alone. I do it. The water here us usually very calm and everyone that has grown up around the water knows what rip currents are and how to get out of one. I dont leave my phone in my car though! I usually take a chair, towel, phone and the key to get back in my car and I dont go out way deep.

I have a lot of questions that I've posed here, and I doubt LE would answer many of them because it is an ongoing investigation. Along the lines with the swimming thought, though, I believe I read somewhere the car was left unlocked. I wonder if that was the case, and if so, were the keys left in it, and if not, have her keys been located? Again, I doubt they'd answer that.

Related to her last known whereabouts / activities, I have all the questions I have asked about this "box of clothes" or belongings she supposedly picked up from her boyfriend's old residence / roommate. Did they find the box? etc etc.

I'd also like to know what evidence they have with regards to when the SUV was parked at Ft. Pickens, and if there is any evidence it was driven anywhere else after passing through the toll both. Again, doubt they'd answer if they know.

Also curious was the RSO arrested for an abduction from the beach area in the days after the SUV was found. This seems to have been largely ignored in the local media. Have they ruled out any connection to that person?

The feeling I get is that LE is playing cards very tight to vest, which could mean anything from they know a lot they're not telling us while they build a case to they really are as in the dark as we are. I doubt they'd answer many of these, if any of them, but I really hope they are getting closer to the answers and finding Tiffany.
