Just jumping off your post, I bet he doesn’t have a record, the cameras are there cause he’s sneaky, stealing money or what not. He does petty stuff that won’t get him into legal trouble (I had to put dead bolts on my bedroom door to keep my son out, he didn’t grow up to murder anyone he was just a pain in the *advertiser censored*), all of this is just my opinion as we really don’t know anything much about this boys life.
We see on this site time and time again young people doing horrifically brutal things, boys and girls both. Some have rough lives, some don’t and frankly without any solid facts on hand I recall most did it “because they wanted to know what it felt like”. There are so many different factors that can mould a person, we need to find out what is triggering this response in our children. It’s easy to just say someone is evil lock them up and be done with it but this is a huge problem that seems to be occurring more and more often, we need to find the common denominators and understand more to try and end the rage and violence our children are displaying.
The sad truth is a choice was made and repercussions follow, he’s learning this lesson the hard way. Sorry for the long rant, my heart hurts for both families.
All just my opinion

Nikolas Cruz said something similar when he was found cutting open a bird on his kitchen counter. Any child or young adult that displays a preoccupation with the morbid and macabre should be watched closely IMO.

Unless they just appreciate the aesthetic. The goth kids are alright. :)

Yes, that’s a good point. I was mostly referring to young adults who seem overly preoccupied with murder, violent media, dead animals — always reading, watching, or talking about it. That kinda stuff.

I agree. Physical appearance tells us little to nothing about a person (unless their clothing promotes hate speech or something).

And remember she was grated indigent status which means she had to have made 200% the poverty level guidelines for the specific size of household.

bit confused on that- as the statute states a minor as applicant is determined by his/her own income?

(a)1. An applicant, including an applicant who is a minor or an adult tax-dependent person, is indigent if the applicant’s income is equal to or below 200 percent of the then-current federal poverty guidelines prescribed for the size of the household of the applicant by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

Property records show her co-owning the house at 724 CASTLEDALE CT with another person. Not sure who he is. A business partner perhaps?

ETA the deed says they are husband and wife. Still she's indigent enough not to be able to provide an attorney for her son. I bet this was all discussed here earlier but I thought I'd bring current.

Would a stepfather be obliged to provide a stepson with lawyers?
I believe only if the stepparent was a legal guardian. No stepparents appeared at AF's hearings. The biofather did appear in the zoom court detention hearing, and he had applied for and ultimately also received indigent status as well as biomom. Parents and legal guardians are responsible to pay for legal counsel for their children, if the parents are deemed nonindigent:

Florida statute 27.52 (6)

Statutes & Constitution :View Statutes : Online Sunshine

(6) DUTIES OF PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN.—A nonindigent parent or legal guardian of an applicant who is a minor or an adult tax-dependent person shall furnish the minor or adult tax-dependent person with the necessary legal services and costs incident to a delinquency proceeding or, upon transfer of such person for criminal prosecution as an adult pursuant to chapter 985, a criminal prosecution in which the person has a right to legal counsel under the Constitution of the United States or the Constitution of the State of Florida. The failure of a parent or legal guardian to furnish legal services and costs under this section does not bar the appointment of legal counsel pursuant to this section, s. 27.40, or s. 27.5303. When the public defender, the office of criminal conflict and civil regional counsel, a private court-appointed conflict counsel, or a private attorney is appointed to represent a minor or an adult tax-dependent person in any proceeding in circuit court or in a criminal proceeding in any other court, the parents or the legal guardian shall be liable for payment of the fees, charges, and costs of the representation even if the person is a minor being tried as an adult. Liability for the fees, charges, and costs of the representation shall be imposed in the form of a lien against the property of the nonindigent parents or legal guardian of the minor or adult tax-dependent person. The lien is enforceable as provided in s. 27.561 or s. 938.29.

A Limited Liability Company bought and owns the house. Technically "she" doesn't own the home but a business she is a partner of does. This business is recognized by the state of Florida. Since I am not an attorney or an accountant I couldn't explain how this benefits her in a situation like she is in.

Generally, a house is not considered an "asset" when applying for assistance or determination of eligibility for various programs. People are allowed a house, one car. So, I have seriously seen people who live in mansions, with a Mercedes, be eligible for food stamps, Medicaid. As long as they meet income and disposable asset criteria.

That is very dependent on the state as well. I was without an income for a short period of time with minimal savings in reserve for rent, but I owned my car and therefore was not eligible for SNAP (supplemental national assist program) in our state. It also likely has to meet poverty level standards which today is $12,880 for one person and $17,420 for a family of two.
"
2021 POVERTY GUIDELINES FOR THE 48 CONTIGUOUS STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
Persons in family/household Poverty guideline
1 $12,880
2 $17,420
3 $21,960
4 $26,500"

So it varies considerably.

I found a video of the most recent press conference. It is from the St. Augustine Record:

Thank you! I am so appreciative that you secured this full 25:09 press conference.

Some paraphrased (imperfect transcription by me) highlights at approximate times:

15:15 (a female reporter): Did Mr Fucci suffer from any mental health condition, or was he seeing a counselor for those kinds of issues?
Larizzo: No. No.

21:30 (a reporter): Any indication that he was under the influence at the time of the crime?
Larizzo: Not... not... I don't believe so.

23:45 (a male reporter): Does he have a criminal history? We can't see his juvenile records... Can you tell us about his past?
Larizzo: Well... juvenile records are confidential... but, ah... No, he didn't.

24:00 (female reporter): What about at school? Did he have any misbehavior? Did he get into fights with kids at school?
Larizzo: I'm not prepared to discuss that at this time.

***
I put those exchanges together to relate them. If AF was not under the care of a psychiatrist, then doesn't that rule out bad reaction to SSRI drugs since they require a prescription? And Larizzo states that their investigation indicates AF was not under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol. And AF has no juvenile criminal or delinquent record.

So what does that leave? He could be taking <modsnip> or another drug prescribed by a regular doctor and he had a bad reaction.

Or did AF just hit puberty and latent sociopathy burst out? Is he a blooming, early onset Ted Bundy? I really want to understand what makes AF tick, what is the causative factor, does he care about other human life? Was it just a matter of time?

<modsnip: Quoted post was modsnipped>

As to the your point about SSRI drugs. Answered in the negative to counselor or "mental health condition", which the way the question was posed, almost is asking if he was diagnosed with any particular condition. A specialist (Psychiatrist or Neurologist with the help of neuro-pysch testing) would have to diagnose such, so we know that much doesn't exist.

But I think pediatricians have the right to fill all kinds of stuff for kids. I wonder what has been prescribed for him lately if anything.

Having no comment on fights/issues at school is interesting. Obviously they're still gathering information, or what they received was sensitive enough to withhold.

Do any of you remember Alyssa Bustemonte? At age 15, she made plans to kill her 9 yo neighbor friend Elizabeth Olten. She lured Elizabeth to the woods behind their homes one day after school. She strangled her with a scarf, stabbed her in the chest then slit her wrists. Then she buried Elizabeth in a shallow grave she'd dug five days before. Here's what she wrote in her diary right afterwards:

"I just f*cking killed someone. I strangled them and slit their throat and stabbed them now they’re dead. I don’t know how to feel atm. It was amazing. As soon as you get over the “oh my god, I can’t do this” feeling, it’s pretty enjoyable. I’m kinda nervous and shaky though right now. Kay, I gotta go to church now lol."

And then she went to a church dance with friends. She did show previous sadistic tendencies with her little brothers; making them touch an electric fence and laughing when they screamed. She also cut herself. She lived with her grandparents as her mother had a history of drug abuse and her father was in prison. She was diagnosed with major depressive disorder and borderline personality disorder.
