I did hear back from the SO in GA on Friday of last week, just saying they will forward the email to the McDonough Police Dept.

There are some changes to the Namus UID profile which just occurred:
age change: 50-70 years of age
height change: 5'4 to 5'9
The autopsy revealed the female was the victim of a homicide
**the identity of the victim is still unknown**
hair: Long curly or wavy auburn or brunette hair
pony-tail with a red cloth band
underwear description was removed.
floral design blouse was changed to patterned blouse.
wore prescription glasses, possibly red or pink framed.
missing all of her bottom teeth, could have had dentures.
gray JERSEY brand jogging pants
"jail tattoo" info removed.

She did have severe arthritis in her back and her right elbow
She had prior multiple rib fractures on her left side

Anyone with information about this subject should contact Sumter County Sheriff Office Detective Darren Norris at 352-569-1617, dnorris@sumtercountysheriff.org Detective Derek Pike at 352-569-1614, email: dpike@sumtercountysheriff.

cause of death still not identified in namus.

I am starting to think this is not Jane Huff.
especially if they add to namus in the update that the identity of the victim is still unknown.

As the thread starter, can I edit the thread title to change the age from 25-55 to 50-70 If so, How do I do that?

I'm not positive but I believe only the moderators can do that now. Click the red triangle next to the #32 and send a request.

I see they've also added a picture with her in a ponytail now on the NamUs profile. She still looks like a good match to Jane Huff to me. Has Ms. Huff's age been published? Although, she doesn't look 50 to me, we also don't know how recent the photo of her was taken.

Wildwood is straight down I-75 from McDonough, GA - http://goo.gl/maps/AWhkM

It's odd that they put 50-70 in the circumstances wording, but left the searchable fields as 25-55.

Thanks KateB,

About the age, I did a search (Cannot recall which web page) but I found a Jane Huff in GA aged 41. (I think it was an intellius search). Not sure if that is up to date or not.

I should correct my earlier post. The Namus height change refers to a person who is 5'4 to 5'9 (It was previously 65 inches on namus, and 5'2-5'9 on the Sumter County Info Page.

There are very few details on the physical characteristics of Jane Huff online. We do not know her height, weight, etc.

There seems to be a family with the same last name in Meansville, GA.

Thanks lso Kate B for the heads up on the new image with the ponytail. I missed that.

Here is the new image with the ponytail that KateB found on Namus.

NamUs Case # 11284 has had changes made. You can view the case by clicking the url below

URL: https://identifyus.org/cases/11284

The following fields have been changed:
Physical / Medical : Other Medical Findings Details changed from "Decedent had gall stones." to "Decedent had gall stones. Metoprolol was found in this decedent's toxicology."

Meoprolo is a heart medicine. This still could be Jane Huff.
"Police say that Huff has a medication condition and may have been without her medication for the last two weeks."

Fin,
The article states that it is the Sumter County Sheriff's office which is making the press announcements. So, perhaps your info went to the wrong place [McDonough police dept or whatever]. Have you given your info about Jane Huff to the links provided in your NAMUS message??:

Someone needs to call! This really seems like a match.
75 is the main highway out of GA into Fl.
This med could be taken for a heart condition or for high blood pressure.

Okay, I just called the McDonough Police Department and asked if they had found Jane Huff. She told me that they had found her alive and well last month but they now believe she has been found dead in Florida. I verified that they are seeking positive identification on the UID in Florida. So, they have made the connection and are working to make certain the UID is Jane Huff.

Good ID Fin!

Looks like a good ID to me Fin. Good job. I hope that she is identified and is able to be buried by family.

Here's more info on the age discrepancy. This news article

She is believed to be somewhere between 50 and 70 years old. The drawing was provided by Erin Kimmerle, forensic anthropologist for the University of South Florida."

"She died from a gunshot wound. That’s the latest information that sheriff’s investigators have released as they attempt to determine who murdered an unidentified woman whose body was found near Wildwood"
"Since the discovery, investigators have been trying to uncover the woman’s identity and the person responsible for her murder."
