When the prisoner forged checks, passed them (uttering false instruments), passed herself off as the account holder (fraudulent impersonation), each of her gestures, each of her acts are crimes. The State of Florida charged her with each of those separate crimes, all counts in the indictment. The prisoner's lawyers object to this proliferation of charges and judge it to be double jeopardy.
