It is my opinion that it is highly unlikely that Robert entered the Canal System on his own after viewing the location of the Canal from the area where Robert went missing in Boise.

UPDATE: Body 'same age & size' as Manwill, no positive ID
06:44 PM MDT on Monday, August 3, 2009
<snipped>
A body of a young boy was found in the New York Canal near Kuna Monday afternoon - and police are trying to determine if the boy is Robert Manwill, who went missing on July 24th.

Just before 1:30 p.m., a citizen called Ada County Dispatch and said there was a body floating in the canal. An Ada County Sheriff's Deputy responded to the scene and jumped into the water to pull the body from the water.

“The body is that of a young boy about the same age and size as Robert Manwill," Deputy Chief Jim Kerns said Monday night.

The coroner's office is working to make a positive identification on the body, but that determination is not expected to come until Tuesday. An autopsy will be performed on the body.

“A missing child is every family’s nightmare, and a nightmare for an entire community," Kerns said. "(This case) remains under active investigation. Detectives are working closely with the coroner’s office.”

Boise Police will wait until tomorrow to announce a positive identification on the body found in the New York Canal this afternoon. Deputy Chief Jim Kerns said the autopsy will be performed on the body tomorrow, but did confirm the body matches the same size and age of missing 8-year-old Robert Manwill.

Deputy Chief Kerns says one of the first officers on the scene jumped in and pulled out the body after it was called in by a civilian. He says the family has requested privacy at this time.

"A missing child is every family's nightmare," Deputy Chief Kerns said.

UPDATE: The search for Robert Manwill: No ID on body, but same age and size of Manwill, police say
Published: 08/03/09

Melissa Jenkins left the Boise police headquarters in tears Monday afternoon, and later police officials confirmed why: The body found in a canal between Boise and Kuna Monday is of a boy about the same age and size of her missing 8-year-old son, Robert Manwill.

Deputy Chief Jim Kerns said that so far Monday, officials don't have a positive ID on the body, though. That could have to wait until Ada County Coroner can work to determine who the boy was and how he died Tuesday.

A citizen called to report the body floating in the New York Canal sometime after 1 p.m. Monday. The first Ada County deputy to respond saw the boy, jumped in and pulled him out, Kerns said.

The canal is the same one that crosses Vista Avenue less than a half-mile away from the apartment where Robert was reportedly last seen. The spot where the body was found is around 2 miles southeast from the Boise home near Five Mile Road that police searched Friday night.

Kerns described how the Ada County Sheriff's Office discovered the body:
"This afternoon at approximately 1:28 p.m., a citizen called police dispatch after seeing a body floating in the New York Canal near Cloverdale Road, just north of Deer Flat Road. As Ada County deputies were responding, another citizen reported also seeing a body floating just west of the initial location.

"At this time we do not have a positive ID on the body," Kerns said. "I can tell you the body found today floating in the canal is that of a young boy, approximately the same age and size as Robert Manwill. Robert's family who has been incredibly strong throughout this ordeal has been notified that a body has been found."

Kerns called the boy's family a "source of strength" for investigators.

"A missing child is every family's nightmare and a heartache for this entire community," he said. "All of us, including the investigators on this case, have said to ourselves, 'What if Robert were my child?' Our hearts go out to Robert's family tonight (Monday) as they wait in private for a positive ID from the coroner."

Kerns added: "We give our heartfelt thanks to the community for their help and support in our search for Robert."

Body Found in Hunt for Missing Boy

Someone walking by the New York Canal in Kuna, in Ada County, saw the body of a boy floating in the water and called police, Kerns said. One of the first officers on the scene jumped into the water and pulled out the body, he said.

"Robert's family, who has been incredibly strong throughout this entire ordeal, has been notified that a body has been found," Kerns said, adding that the boy's family has requested privacy.

His parents haven't said much of anything to the public. Jenkins has two other children and lives with a boyfriend.

Court documents show that Jenkins and her boyfriend Daniel Ehrlick were taken to court by the state for child support relating to an unnamed child in foster care.

Jenkins is on probation after being charged with felony injury to a child, a charge the Idaho Statesman reported came after she fractured the skull of Robert's infant half-brother, who was removed by the state.

Hightower told ABCNews.com that about 140 registered sex offenders live within a two-mile radius of Robert's home in a working-class neighborhood of the city and that each one has been visited.

"Some of them have been checked and rechecked and rechecked," she said.

While police are not saying if the body belongs to missing 8-year-old Robert Manwill they did say during a news conference the body matches the age and size of Robert. It's news that has many in this community nervous about the outcome of Robert's case.

They walk to a makeshift memorial set up for Robert Manwill with heavy hearts.

Some of the residents who showed up know Manwill.

"He has that beautiful shy smile that we talk so much about," said Gloria DeKelley, recalling times she has seen Robert playing at the apartment pool.

Members of Manwill's family did show up to the memorial site on Monday evening, including his mother. They continue to ask for privacy right now, waiting to see what will be released Tuesday. They did thank the community for showing support and appreciate the site that has been established outside Robert's apartment.

Body in canal: Is it Robert Manwill?
The boy pulled from the water is the age and size of the missing 8-year-old, but officials won't know for sure who he is or how he died until an autopsy
Published: 08/04/09

Melissa Jenkins left the Boise police headquarters in tears Monday afternoon, and later police officials confirmed why.

A dead boy found in an irrigation canal between Boise and Kuna Monday could be her missing 8-year-old son, Robert Manwill.

Boise police were about to start a 2 p.m. news conference about the Manwill case Monday when they suddenly canceled - about a half-hour after two people saw the body of what appeared to be a young boy floating in the New York Canal near Cloverdale Road in southern Ada County.

About three hours later, Robert's mother, Melissa Sue Jenkins, appeared to be crying as she left the Boise police station, physically supported by two other family members. Other family members left the station in groups, escorted to their cars by a police officer. Police said the family did not want to comment and asked for privacy.

A New York Canal company worker said it would be possible for a body to travel from where the canal passes Vista Avenue to where a body was found Monday.

In the past couple of decades, bodies have floated for as long as at least two weeks and as far as at least 14 miles.

But the spot where this body was found also is about 2 miles southeast of the Ada County home near Five Mile Road where police searched a backyard over the weekend.

Wallis told the Idaho Statesman Friday police were digging up his backyard after bloodhounds picked up a scent at his house. He said his Chevy Suburban had been stolen the Wednesday before Robert disappeared and that he found it the Monday after.

Boise police have not disclosed what evidence they removed from his home, or from Jenkins and Ehrlick's apartment off Vista Avenue, which was searched at least twice last week.

Authorities pulled the body of a young boy out of the New York Canal in Ada County southwest of Boise on Monday afternoon. Police called off a planned afternoon update on the 10-day-old investigation of the disappearance of Robert Manwill as detectives converged on this rural spot.

Body in canal matches Manwill’s size, age

At a press conference Monday night, Boise Police Deputy Chief Jim Kerns said the Ada County coroner had not positively identified the body but would conduct an autopsy today.

"Obviously, the question is, 'Is this Robert?'" Ada County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Andrea Dearden said.

Kerns said about 1:30 p.m. two callers reported a body floating in the New York Canal near Deer Flat Road. An Ada County deputy found the body near the area of Deer Flat and Stewart Road and jumped in to retrieve it.

"At this time we do not have a positive ID on the body," Kerns said. "I can tell you the body found today floating in the canal is that of a young boy, approximately the same age and size as Robert Manwill."

Investigators told Manwill's family of the body, and Kerns said they have been a "source of strength" for investigators.

Tuba & SS Do the charts confirm that the body of the little boy found was Robert? In my heart I know it is. Also Melissa has been at the Boise Police Dept. before this it was hush hush where she was at! So we now know that she has been being questioned by LE the last few days.

The article didn't mention her BF leaving though....so does this mean, if the charts show anything, that the BF is still being held for questioning? There is no mention of where he is at...in the article at this time. Only that Melissa was seen leaving in tears. TIA

P.S. I called WTVB & spoke with a man from the newsroom a little bit ago & informed them of NO audio in the last 2-3 videos from their site! He talked to a tech while I was on the phone with them & informed me that they will fix it A.S.A.P.!

Angel, I think we know who this is. The body was in a like state to one missing for that length of time and there are no other missing persons in the area. The size matches and the shirt is the right color. Robert had dark hair. The age of the child matches. In the Last Seen chart, Uranus rules the Ascendant and is found in a Water Sign, Pisces. (No other Water positions in the chart) Uranus is not in the House of death but is riding that axis from the First House. The death signatures I had found from that chart were ruler of intercepted H. 8 in H. 5 of the child, natural ruler of children Sun at 2° Leo inconjunct Pluto and Mercury ruler of the H. of death in the Sign of children, Leo again. Venus ruler of the intercepted death House is square Uranus, so Robert was killed elsewhere and taken to the canal. Death occurred in town.

FYI: HLN Just now announced that they are still waiting for the autopsy to confirm if it's Robert...... I 99.9% (really 100%) sure that it is Robert that they found.
I'm very worried about his older brother after reading his MySpace blogs he sound like a very troubled young man. I pray that he gets some grief counsling he so desperately needs. Even his blogs before Robert went missing sound like he is battling some very deep depression. :shakehead:

Thanks so much for your post Tuba.

OT: I'm so feed up with NG covering MJ after 5 weeks of his death....what about Lindsey, Haleigh, & so many other mising cases that need some national attention. It seems like no one seems to care that so many have been missing for so long....their families need some clousure. She again is covering MJ tonight......showing the family video again! I was so upset they couldn't take the time to report on any updates on Robert, Lindsey, Jennifer Kesse etc. etc. :(

I've sent e-mails so many times to her, & am going to do so again....they will be tired of getting e-mails from all of us..... I'm boycotting her show & complaining about her not doing what she is known for, being a voice for the missing & murdered. JMHO

Hi Everyone,

I read here daily, but rarely post. On this one I couldn't help but agree with you Angel. I stopped watching NG months ago. I think she has lost sight of the good she could be doing with her show. I mean really, MJ was an adult man who abused drugs to the point that he died, whereas we have innocent children who are going missing daily in this country through no fault of their own. I ask you, who deserves the airtime more?

I know i'm off topic of astrology, and for that I apologize. I truly love the astro forum, and all of the wonderful astrologers here. I am amazed daily at how accurate you all are! I am hoping to someday find the time to study astrology myself.
Thanks,
Jenny

Autopsy underway for the body of a young boy found Monday in the New York Canal

A forensic pathologist with the Ada County Coroner’s office has begun his autopsy on the small boy found Monday afternoon in the New York Canal near Kuna — a boy that could be missing 8-year-old Robert Manwill.

Officials hope the autopsy will identify the boy, who was spotted floating in the irrigation canal by two different people near Cloverdale Road in southern Ada County.

Boise Deputy Police Chief Jim Kerns said Monday that they could not positively identify the boy until after an autopsy is done.

In addition to providing an identification, the autopsy should also provide information on the cause of death of the boy and a ruling on if it was a natural death, accidental, suicide, homicide, or undetermined.

Boise police officials announced last week they had found undisclosed evidence indicating that Robert could be injured or the "victim of a tragic event." They still have not identified any suspects or people of interest in the case.

The Ada County coroner says an autopsy began Tuesday on a body that was pulled from a canal and matches the description of an 8-year-old boy who disappeared more than a week ago.

In a statement Tuesday, Erwin Sonnenberg said the body found on Monday has been examined and a complete autopsy started at 9 a.m.

Police have said evidence in the case indicates suspicious circumstances surrounding the disappearance and the boy could be hurt "or the victim of a tragic event."

A passerby called emergency workers Monday to report they had seen a body floating in the canal near Kuna about 1:30 p.m.

Canal official: body could travel from Vista to Kuna
10:04 AM MDT on Tuesday, August 4, 2009
<snipped>
An official with the group that oversees the New York Canal said it is plausible that a body which entered the canal near the Vista area could make it to the Kuna-area.

Police have not indicated if they believe the body floated from one location to another, or how the body got in the water.

"Normally if a body goes in (to the water) in Boise, (police) will want us to put the gates in immediately," Paul Deveau, project manager with the Boise Project said. "We frown on that at least at first. It takes about a week for a body to go that distance. Maybe two."

He said his office coordinated with police last week.

"We talked to them a week ago yesterday. We (walked) the canal with them and showed them the particulars. They kind of felt that wasn't necessary."

He stressed that there are no other body gates between Boise and the location where the body was found. Several other structures are in the canal that look similar, but they would generally not be useful in blocking a human body in the water.

It isn't clear where the boy's body entered the water, and police have not outlined what they think may have happened. More details are expected later Tuesday.

Canal officials say these "body gates" can be deployed into the water to screen a human body that was in the water. They were not in use yesterday.

The coroner was expected to perform an autopsy this morning on the body found in the New York canal. Boise Police say they will make announcement on the identification as soon as they confirm the identity. Deputy Chief Jim Kerns did confirm at a press conference Monday evening the body matches the same size and age of missing 8-year-old Robert Manwill.

Deputy Chief Kerns says one of the first officers on the scene jumped in and pulled out the body after it was called in by a civilian. He says the family has requested privacy at this time.

These developments come after several police agencies spent the weekend digging up the back yard of an Ada County home. Police tell Today's Channel 6 news, the home is rented by people who know the boyfriend of Robert's mother. It is not know what, if any evidence was found to lead police to the backyard. Boise police said they were following multiple leads and multiple locations looking for the boy.

UPDATE: Police: Identification of boy's body "beginning of an entirely new investigation"
August 4, 2009
Updated 1 minute ago
<snipped>
Deputy Chief Jim Kerns of the Boise Police Department offered little new information at an afternoon press conference.

Kerns said police have been notified of the tentative identification of the body found Monday as 8-year-old Robert Manwill. He said the public should not expect easy answers, cautioning against speculation.

"Finding Robert will not be the end, but just the beginning of an entirely new investigation. Our priority remains finding answers for Robert's family and this community," Kerns said. "Our system of justice demands that we focus on evidence. Our investigative experience tells us we can not jump to conclusions."

Kerns said Robert's family remains in close contact with police. He quickly departed after his brief statement without responding to questions from reporters.

"We ask that you continue to keep Robert, his family and the dedicated investigators in your thoughts. They very much appreciate your support," he concluded.

Ada County Coroner says the fact Robert Manwill was found in water makes it harder to determine his cause of death
Published: 08/04/09

"Finding Robert will not be the end, but just the beginning of an entirely new investigation," he said.

Police have to "focus on evidence," he said.

Kerns said Robert's family is still in close contact with police and being updated throughout the investigation.

Sonnenberg said water complicates his work.

"You can't assume as much as quickly," he said. "Now you have to add the fact that you have...decomposition in water which greatly complicates the case."

Deveau estimates from the Vista Avenue apartment to where Manwill's body was found as a roughly 18-mile stretch.

There are no gates or grates between those two locations to stop a body, he said. And it would take more than a week for a body to float that far, he said.

"We deal with this a lot," Devaue said. "Usually, any place from Broadway to Gowen Road...if somebody goes in that area, it's going to be one to two weeks before we see them at Cloverdale."

There are a set of "body gates" at Cloverdale Road, Deveau said, but the canal company must lower them into place. That didn't happen, because Boise police "thought he wasn't in the canal so we didn't put the gates in," he said.

"Entirely New Investigation" in Manwill Case
August 4, 2009
<snipped>
Boise Police say the identification of the body of Robert Manwill is not the end, but the begining of an entirely new investigation. The coroner tentatively identified Roberts at the victim who was pulled Monday from a canal near Kuna. Speaking at a press conference Tuesday Deputy Chief Jim Kerns said investigators remain dedicated to "finding answers" for Manwill's family. Kerns said police are engaged in a "very active" investigation, but warned people against speculating what could have happened and not to jump to any conclusions. Police said last week they had evidence indicating Robert could be the victim of a tragic event, but they have not identified any suspects or people of interest in the case.

Memorial Grows With News Of Robert

A makeshift memorial for Robert Manwill continues to grow as police say the body found in the New York canal is tentatively Robert's. "Everyday something new and its sad that it had to end that way," one neighbor said "It's just very sad to hear that a little boy that who hasn't lived his life it's just a very tragic event," another added.

The memorial is made up mostly of teddy bears, a sign of the 8-year-old after family pleaded to reunite Robert with his teddy bear just days into the search. Several people have also written letters and notes. "It says Robert we have prayed and prayed for you for 10 days," one woman said before breaking down in tears as she read her note. "Oh man, the loss I feel for not knowing and getting to talk to you."

The memorial will stay up for several more days until a candlelight vigil Friday night. After that the people behind the memorial say they'll donate the teddy bears to the Ronald McDonald house in Roberts' name.

Robert Manwill's body found in New York Canal
Posted: Aug 4, 2009 08:11 PM EDT
<snipped>
Now that we know eight year old Robert Manwill has been found, the next big step in this investigation is how did the little boy end up in the canal. The boy either accidently fell into the canal, jumped in, or someone put him there. So, if the body went into the canal by his house on Vista - it would have travelled about 14 miles before it got to the south portion of Cloverdale Road.

Project manager Paul Deveau is in charge of the New York Canal and says Robert's body could easily have travelled that far. There is only one grate on the entire system, but it wasn't even down. "If a body goes in the canal in Boise, somewhere between Gowen Road, that's considered Boise, and we figure at least a week before the body gets down here, sometimes it'll take two weeks," said Paul Deveau, Boise Project Board of Control.

It's also possible he went in closer to the spot where he was found. What detectives will try to figure out now, is did the little boy jump in, fall in, or did somebody kill him before he was even in the water. As we first reported, police last week eliminated the canal as an area to search for robert. No word from police, as to why the canal was eliminated as a possible location for the boy.

Community response to Stockdale, Manwill
August 5, 2009
Updated 1 hour 35 minutes ago
<snipped>
A Middleton family the Treasure Valley got to know recently finds itself facing financial difficulties when the patriarch learns his insurance won't cover an expensive potential remedy to a terrible malady.

A young Boise boy is reported missing and there are no clues to his whereabouts.

Two different stories with very different outcomes. Yet two stories which also have one common thread that should make everybody who lives here glad they do.

Ryan Stockdale became well-known in the area in 2007 when his family was given a medically-sound house as part of the popular television series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." His four children all suffer from a rare white blood cell disease.

Late last month, the Boise Police Department asked the public's help in finding 8-year-old Robert Manwill, who had been reported missing the night before. Family members said he had left their home on foot and had not returned.

For the Stockdales, the story had a happy ending. For Manwill's family, it was a tragic conclusion when the coroner tentatively identified the boy's body found in a canal near Kuna.

We've already shown we can — and will — do it.

While the search may be over, people say their support isn't. They've opened their homes and let this little boy into their hearts.

"She heard Robert's favorite color was green and she wanted her stuff animal to keep him safe," says neighbor, Shelly Bingham.

For 11 days, these neighbors, friends, and family members of missing Robert have remained hopeful he would come home.

The Ada County Coroner says dental records are being evaluated to make a positive identification, but Tuesday, during a press conference, Boise Police said finding Robert is now only the beginning of the investigation into exactly what happened to the little boy.

"Our priority remains finding answers for Robert's family and this community," adds Chief Kerns.

While police ask for patience in this case, they also ask people to continue to keep Robert and his family in their hearts. A request many here say they're listening to.

Eyewitness News has learned the Boise community is planning a vigil for Robert this Friday night.

Coroner: Body is Manwill
August 5, 2009

Officials identified a boy's body found floating in a Southwest Ada County canal as that of 8-year-old Robert Manwill, who had been missing since July 24.

Although Ada County Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg made the tentative identification, he said a positive finding will be released as soon as his office receives dental records and a forensic odontologist compares the findings.

A cause of death has not yet been determined, according to authorities.

He said the public should not expect easy answers, cautioning against speculation.

"For Robert's sake, the sake of his family, the answers we provide must reflect the answers that can only come from a thorough investigation," he said. "That investigation is still very much under way."

Kerns said Robert's family remains in close contact with police.

Who was the last to see Robert Manwill alive?
A 7-year-old neighbor girl says she sat on the swings with him on the playground the night he disappeared.
Published: 08/05/09

But one person says she is certain she saw him that night.

K.D., 7, who lives with her parents at the Oak Park Village apartments off Vista Avenue in Boise, said she was with Robert on the playground next to the pool, which has apartments overlooking it on three sides.

"I was on the green swing, and he was on the red swing," she told the Statesman.

At some point, K.D. said, Robert jumped off to play on a playground motorcycle, next to the swings, then soon after went up to his mom's apartment. She went to her own family's apartment.

K.D.'s parents say they believe she came inside at about 7:30 p.m. - around the same time as their other kids changed and went down to the pool to go swimming. The pool was filled with kids that night, they said.

A resident in the building who did not want to be identified said Ehrlick Jr. told her that Robert was in the hot tub and pool the night he went missing. She said he told her a heavy-set couple, including a man with a mustache, had invited the boy to a birthday party, and he'd gone to ask Ehrlick Jr. for permission several times.

But the Davidsons said no one saw the boy in the hot tub or pool.

2ND HEADLINE
AFTER HE WAS GONE
As soon as the Davidson family heard Robert was missing that Friday night, they grabbed flashlights and joined dozens of neighbors in searching for the boy. They were out looking until 2 a.m. Saturday.

"The parents around here are always looking out for each other's kids," J. Davidson said. "Kids can run up to any apartment, go inside and get help."

There are often adults sitting outside their apartments in lawn chairs, and some leave pool-side doors open.

They spoke with FBI agents every day for about a week - agents were interested in K.D.'s account, among other things - and allowed searches of their apartment and garage.

It took four or five officers to sift through boxes in their garage.

A neighbor of Jenkins and Ehrlick said that that night, she heard a police officer helping Jenkins search her apartment for the boy. She said she heard the officer also wanted to search Jenkins' car - a red Blazer - but she told him she wasn't home at the time the boy went missing.

K. Davidson, 30, and her husband Jim, 34, are neighbors in the apartment complex where 8-year-old Robert Manwill's mother, Melissa Scott Jenkins, lives and said their daughter was playing with Robert on the playground Friday evening around 7:30 p.m. a few hours before Robert became missing.

Teachers say Robert Manwill was affectionate, quick to learn
Robert Manwill, 8, believed to be the boy found dead in a canal Monday, made a good impression in a short time in New Plymouth.

Robert Manwill was a hugger.

Every day at school, Robert hugged his teachers. He freely embraced his best buddies, including some who felt they were getting too grown up for such unsolicited displays of affection.

"He was a sweet, sweet boy, always wanting hugs, and hugging other kids," said Christy Morales, who was Robert's second-grade teacher.

Robert lived in both halves of a broken home, spending most of the past year and a half of his life with his dad, Charles Manwill, in New Plymouth, and occasionally visiting his mom, Melissa Jenkins, in Boise.

He's remembered as a tiny kid, who liked superhero T-shirts and wore too-big brown loafers. He is described as funny, often making silly comments or telling funny stories.

Morales said he had a cute, quirky way of answering questions.

"He'd throw out his hands and say, 'Wellllll ... ,'" she said.

"He was very verbal that way. For his age, he was very verbal. He'd go into these explanations."

Tammy Schlett, a teaching assistant at New Plymouth, tutored Robert and other kids in his class in math every day.

"He'd lean his head on you, and say, 'I love you,'" Schlett said. Robert gave her a hug on the way out of the lunchroom every day.

Early in the evening, about 25 people were at the party. Hurst hoped more people would show up because she would like to see more Neighborhood Watch groups form. One year 200 people came, she said.

Because of Manwill's disappearance, Liz Mitchell decided to give her 10-year-old daughter a cell phone. She wasn't going to get one until she was older, Mitchell said.

Laura Montgomery, 11, said she used to sleep outside on a trampoline but won't anymore. She won't ride her bike alone, either.

"I was really scared because there are a few bad people who live here," she said.

There has been a lot of confusion on the body grates, here is some information from inside of another article I posted early this morning, ("Who Was The Last To See Robert Alive?") that explains what & why they weren't put down!

WHAT HAPPENED TUESDAY?
<snipped>
The fact the body was found in water was slowing things down, Sonnenberg said.

"You can't assume as much as quickly," he said. "Now you have to add the fact that you have ... decomposition in water, which greatly complicates the case."

A positive ID on the body awaited a look at dental records - a common practice among coroners, Sonnenberg said.

The question remains how Robert came to be in the New York Canal about 14 miles from his Vista Avenue home.

Paul Deveau, project manager for the Boise Project Board of Control, said there are no gates or grates between the Manwill apartment and where the body of the boy was found that would stop a body, he said. And it would take more than a week for a body to float that far, he said.

Deveau said the canal company opened up access roads for Boise police to conduct a thorough search of the canal after Robert went missing.

There is a single set of "body gates" at Cloverdale Road, Deveau said, but the canal company must lower them into place.

That didn't happen, because Boise police "thought he wasn't in the canal so we didn't put the gates in," he said.

Tuba & SS I was wondering if a chart shows that an arrest is coming very soon now that Robert has been found?

A local poster (& confirmed that she is the sister/Aunt of the little girl who last seen Robert, sister to her father!) that the BF of Robert's mother has been released this morning from the hospital from a drug overdose.

She posted that Robert's mother has asked for the locks to be changed on the apt. now that he has been released. I still feel that the mother is involved with Robert's murder & or cover-up though. JMHO

When reading the article about "Who Was The Last To See Robert Alive?", I question the reasons behind her not letting them look in their Red Blazer the night Robert went missing. My opinion is that they used the Blazer to transport him the the other guys house at some point & used his vehicle to dump (hard to use the word dump...no child should be dumped...just like Caylee & Sandra were! :( ) his body in the canal.

I'm thinking that they didn't want anyone to say....Hey, I seen a Red Blazer in the area of the canal, so they/he/she used his truck to put him in the canal. I hope that makes sense to you.....It's just a theory that I've had for sometime now. TIA

RIP Robert! You are safe with all the angels & in God's arms now.
:praying: For Robert & his loved ones.

Yes, it does look like an arrest of one who was a genuine enemy to Robert, coming soon. Mars in II forming a square with Saturn in just a few days and then hitting the Venus of Robert's Last Seen chart. That Venus happened to spell death, in this instance as it ruled the intercepted House 8, you may remember. Mercury ruled the cusp and Mercury was peregrine thus wandering aimlessly, floating down the canal post mortem.

Boise police: Don't expect an update Wednesday on the Robert Manwill case
Published: 08/05/09
<snipped>
Boise police said they are still awaiting information from the Ada County Coroner’s Office Wednesday, and that they don't expect to release anything new on the Robert Manwill investigation.

Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg has tentatively identified 8-year-old Manwill as the boy found dead in a canal between Boise and Kuna Monday, but his office is still using dental records to confirm for sure.

“Boise Police must have a positive identification on the body to be able to confirm preliminary autopsy findings or the direction of the investigation,” a police release said Wednesday afternoon.

Some are organzing a walk for Robert Saturday morning at 9 a.m. -- 11 loops from the New York Canal at Vista Avenue around the apartment complex and memorial and back.

"We're considering it 11 laps for the 11 days he was missing before we found him," said Monica Dalton, co-organizer of the walk for Robert.

Those interested in taking part can meet by the Jackson's at the top of the hill near Vista Avenue.

Body positively ID'ed as Manwill; news conf. set

<snipped>
A news conference is set for 6 p.m. at Boise Police headquarters in Boise, where they say there will be a “significant development,” but would not detail what that was.

Robert’s aunt and uncle spoke with NewsChannel 7 Wednesday and said they were holding out hope that the tentative ID was wrong – and they have held off making funeral arrangements.

That will likely change in the wake of Wednesday's news of a positive confirmation.

KTVB also spoke with the family of Daniel Ehrlick, Jr., the boyfriend who lives with Robert's mom.

Since the boy’s disappearance, he's been in and out of the hospital for unspecified treatments.

He's been out of the public eye since last Thursday when he attended news conferences with Robert's mother, Melissa Jenkins.

Ehrlick's father didn't want to answer questions on camera, but said "this has torn our family apart and there's no one who can put us back together."

Boise police say they have a "significant development" in the case of Robert Manwill and will hold a press conference at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

In a separate development, the Ada County Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg confirmed the boy found Monday in the New York Canal is 8-year-old Manwill. The confirmation was made using dental records.

Manwill was reported missing to Boise police at 10:11 p.m. July 24 from an Vista Avenue-area apartment complex. Boise police officials have said they have undisclosed evidence indicating that Robert may have been injured and possibly the “victim of a tragic event."

UPDATED: Police: Investigators believe Manwill's death homicide
Officials say 8-year-old's death not an accident, offer no evidence of abduction by stranger
August 6, 2009

Officials did not name any suspects in the case. Manwill family members, who had attended most police press conferences about the missing boy, were not present at the statement Kerns read at Boise City Hall West.

"We believe we will determine when and how Robert died, and who is responsible," Kerns said. "We will hold those responsible for Robert's death accountable for their actions."

Kerns said important information about the investigation would be released when investigators have more evidence.

"Our focus today remains the same as it was July 24 — on Robert and to find answers to what happened to cut short the life of this little boy," the deputy chief said.

Police will no longer hold daily news briefings about the boy as they have for the last 11 days, Kerns said. He assured the public that police will solve the case.

The Idaho Statesman reported that Jenkins pleaded guilty in March to a misdemeanor charge of injury to a child after an October 2008 incident that fractured her infant son's skull. That child is the son of Jenkins' boyfriend, Daniel Edward Ehrlick.

Jenkins was sentenced to 29 days of work release, fined $75.50 and put on probation for two years, according to court documents.

Investigators were seen taking an SUV and other items during the search of the apartment Jenkins and Ehrlick share.

Autopsy shows that Robert Manwill's death was 'not an accident,' Boise police say
Published: 08/05/09

"Justice will not be denied" for Robert Manwill, said Boise Deputy Chief Jim Kerns in a short 6 p.m. press conference Wednesday.

The Ada County Coroner's autopsy showed that the 8-year-old boy's death was "not an accident," he said.

Police "will determine how and when Robert died, and who is responsible," Kerns said.

He said that no evidence exists that Robert was abducted by a stranger.

Kerns said the criminal investigation would proceed "with urgency," but he said the police would "compromise the legal procedures" and the integrity of their case by prematurely releasing details.

Kerns on Manwill homicide: "We will find out who did this"

“Preliminary results from the autopsy give us reason to believe that the death of Robert Manwill was not an accident,” he said.

Kerns seemed almost angry in his tone.

“Justice will not be denied for Robert Manwill,” he said.

He also said there is no evidence that Manwill is the victim of any type of abduction, but he would not detail if the department has any suspects in the case.

“Our justice system demands criminal investigations be thorough and methodical," Kerns said.

Robert’s aunt and uncle spoke with NewsChannel 7 Wednesday and said they were holding out hope that the tentative ID was wrong – and they had held off making funeral arrangements.

Manwill was reported missing late in the evening of July 24th . A search began immediately, and for nearly a week – police held daily news conferences with Manwill’s family present – including his mother, Melissa Jenkins and Jenkins’ boyfriend Robert Ehrlick.

Though no suspects have been named in Manwill's death, and police would not detail who was responsible, his mother has a past criminal history that involves hurting children.

KTVB spoke with the family of Daniel Ehrlick, Jr., Jenkin's live-in boyfriend.

Since the boy’s disappearance, he's been in and out of the hospital for unspecified treatments, according to family.

Police say it was no accident. And there remains no evidence that indicates Robert Manwill was abducted by a stranger.

The 8-year-old was last seen outside the apartment where his mother lives in Boise on the night of July 24. His body was pulled from the New York Canal - about 14 miles away - on Monday, August 3.

Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday evening, Boise Police Chief Deputy Jim Kerns said "Justice will not be denied for Robert." Kerns said the justice system demands investigations like this one be thorough and methodical. He says the police cannot compromise legal procedures with the premature release of details.

Daniel Ehrlick, Jr. is the boyfriend of Robert's Mother, Melissa Jenkins. His father, Daniel Ehrlick, Sr., told CBS 2 that his granddaughter told him that his son is being treated at Intermountain Hospital, a psychiatric care facility in Boise.

Police have not named any suspects, and no one is in custody.

Emotions Flare After Robert's Death is Homicide

<snipped>
There's been 2 types of reactions out here from Robert's memorial: sadness and anger after knowing that someone had the ability to murder an 8-year old little boy.

"I don't know what to say. It makes you want to hold on to the ones you have more," said a father Mike Robison.

Many were speechless, shocked, and even angry.

So many emotions are pouring out from the community once police announced that 8-year old Robert Manwill's death was ruled as homicide.

"They're so innocent to begin with and yet to have their lives taken from them. For what? There can't be any explanation is to why something like that would happen," said Robison.

In the last 24 hours Robert's memorial has nearly tripled in size as families continue to stop by to drop off their condolences.

Many parents say this is far from over, until they find Robert's killer.

"It's wrong. Just will be done through, it will be served," said a mother Wendy Wilemon.

There's word that all of these teddy bears from Robert's memorial will be donated to the Ronald McDonald sight after the vigil on Friday night.

Someone killed 8-year-old Robert Manwill
Police say the boy was not abducted by a stranger, and the coroner has ruled his death was not an accident.
Published: 08/06/09
<snipped>
As Boise Deputy Police Chief Jim Kerns promised Wednesday to "determine how and when Robert Manwill died, and who is responsible," his comments narrowed the field of suspects to people who knew Robert.

A neighbor said she heard Melissa Jenkins tell police she was working the night 8-year-old Robert disappeared. Another neighbor said she saw Daniel Ehrlick Jr. about 7:45 that night outside his home. He often stayed home to care for Robert and the couple's 18-month-old son, Aidan.

Robert lived primarily with his father, Charles, in New Plymouth - an arrangement crafted after Jenkins was laid up in the hospital for a few weeks before Aidan was born and she had no one to take care of Robert.

An affidavit that Charles Manwill filed at the time to get temporary custody of Robert states that Jenkins told him she "was being physically abused by her ex-boyfriend (the apparent father of the unborn child)."

He added that the hospital "has kept the admission of mother Melissa, and her room number, secret because mother Melissa is concerned that the ex-boyfriend may storm into the hospital and mother Melissa's room and cause extreme trouble."

Ehrlick Jr. also has been barred from being around Jenkins' daughter, not from anything he did, but because the father, Raymond Ames, said he didn't like him or want him around the toddler. The girl lived with Melissa Jenkins until Ames got custody last year.

Family and neighbors say Ehrlick Jr. has given at least two separate explanations about the night Robert disappeared.

Ehrlick Jr.'s father said his son accused him of taking Robert, but he denied it. A resident in the building who did not want to be identified said Ehrlick Jr. told her that Robert was in the hot tub and pool the night he went missing and that a heavy-set couple invited the child to a birthday party. Other neighbors say Robert was never near the pool that night.

Neighbors said neither Jenkins nor Ehrlick Jr. have been at the apartment since Wednesday. One neighbor and KBCI-TV said Ehrlick Jr. has been in a treatment center since being treated at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise for an undisclosed reason.

Dorothy Aydelotte, Robert's aunt and sister of his father, said Charles Manwill is doing his best to deal with Robert's death.

"He's better than he was a couple days ago, but not good," Aydelotte said. "He's upset, understandably. Robert was very close with his dad."

“Robert won Boise’s heart when he went missing,” wrote 10-year-old Tina Stulanovic, who placed the letter in the growing collection of stuffed animals, candles and notes in memory of Robert Manwill that sprouted up near the Vista Avenue apartment where he went missing.

An eight-year old's life is cut short and Boise Police say it wasn't an accident.

"There remains no evidence that Robert was abducted by a stranger. We believe we'll determine how and when Robert died and who is responsible," Kern adds.

Because Robert's death is criminal, police say they cannot release information that could compromise their case. When asked if they have any suspects or anybody in custody, there was no reply.

"Nobody knows exactly what happened," says Nikki Adams, who is helping plan a memorial.

Nikki and Steve Adams say what ever that information may be, won't change how they feel about Robert.

"We're not doing it for nothing, but to show the support for Robert you know and to show the family that Boise does care," adds Steve.

The couple has been working on organizing a community-wide memorial Friday night and say they plan to continue despite Wednesday's news.

"I'm not going to judge anybody at all, the only thing that I do feel for is the father and the mother," says Nikki.
