BUT zoey..did you hear what LWOP actually allows this Monster?? He can work his way into medium security..He could get married/have visits where he can hug, speak and be with family and friends, communicate with same. The Judge cannot sentence to any restrictions at all!! ( Tho unable to profit financially is possible).

We all know how those LWOP guys escaped from prison in Upper NY State ( Clinton Prison) and what sort of life they lived behind bars...Far too cushy in my book given the carnage e created.

Mother spoke..said their evil spawn did express remorse ..Yep..How else can she accept that her monster son she birthed is EVIL..Instead she wants to be he is just sick..and not capable to express it...SMH..
I conclude mommy can't accept it, so choses to grasp at straws to somehow excuse his post murder behaviour and inability to show remorse....Could it be she actually knows?? Personally it doesn't matter..As she said..SHE does not actually label herself/husband as VICTIMS..GOOD Because in the end ..In the grand scheme of things" they prevailed..got to have their monster spared..while Victims are left with the bits and pieces of the puzzle of their lives entirely missing too many pieces unable to ever put the "LIFE Puzzle" back together!!!

Ted Bundy s mom never accepted that he was evil

In hearing all, or nearly all, of the impact statements, the thing that I noticed more than any other which was shared by many of the survivors was this: Whenever they go out -- to a restaurant, mall, etc., etc., they always look for an escape route. Can you imagine? Post office, church, temple, grocery store, library, doctor's office, child's school, on & on & on. They may never be able to shake that fear. And that's just one problem that they will encounter for the rest of their lives. Some are still in therapy.

Oh my, many of us are so, so fortunate. SMH

On another note:

The good judge was very passionate about justice in his remarks at the end of the witness statements. Very fine work and ideals from this man.

Our favorite DA did one heck of a closing, didn't he? And he's right -- the monster will be mostly all right, but I'm hoping that he won't be a favorite inmate with the guards and prison staff. That would be a comfort of a sort.

Consider Jeffrey Dahmer: He was sentenced, in a Wisconsin court and then in an Ohio court, to a total of 16 life terms plus many additional years. He went to prison in May, 1992. On November 22,1994, he was working with 2 other inmates, and was found in the prison shower area badly bludgeoned about the head and face. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead that same day.

Jeffrey didn't get to serve all of his term. Pity, that. Tsk, tsk. That's a good bedtime story for JH, IMHO.

I guess we'll hear the sentencing tomorrow, right?

I met DH in 1971, from that day I, he taught me to sit with my back to the wall if he was not with me. His back was to the wall if he was with me. He wanted to beable to see all exits, all windows. We walk a certain way on the streets, I was taught to hold my purse a certain way, and buy a certain kind of purse, do not wear flip flops, only shoes you can really run in if you have too. Noise...well I have 'hit the pavement' a few times with DH. We have taught the sons the same thing. PTSD...oh it extends a lot farther then just the one person. Friends do not understand at all. Family...well they tolerate some of it. I so feel for all of these victims, I only understand a small part of it. I hope this can give some of them peace or a start of healing in their own way.

'That felon'...he may have freedoms coming if he behaves and takes his meds but there are the other inmates he will not want to turn his back on at all, so he may not have any real freedom. I don't think he will marry....oh have groupies, but I do not see him getting married. We may hear some news of 'that felon' some year in the future when we have forgotten him but not his victims. The news may be like Dahmer's.

That mom....she cannot accept what 'that son' "that felon' has done. She could not even say just a simply "I am sorry'' and let it go at that. She tried to reason in her own way. No one accepted what she said. IMO I believe his parents knew he had some issues but ignored them....so IMO they are to blame in some ways. I was so proud of the young victim you 'saw' some of the same issues she has in 'that felon'....but then she saw she was way above that and got through it. She proved to the defense, that family, that felon that he could have gotten through it too.

The defense...well I did not expect anything different....still trying to blame the State for not taking a plea deal?

Tomorrow The Judge speaks...I will listen. And by the way...watching the videos from a different point of view in the court room....The Judge looks so much younger then I thought....his knowledge of the law made me think he was older...but no way...Sorry Judge, not saying you are old at all, just young and very wise.

See everyone tomorrow morn. Good night.

OK..guys get your kleenex ready..this is a video the Aurora Victims made to send out support to far too many victims who fall victim to violence..My eyes started leaking once again!!

https://youtu.be/LNXUxGxAiWQ

Well, yes, that did it -- and when the sweet little "Everything's all right" song started, so did I. How powerful. And the plea, "Put your guns where they belong - on safety." Oh, my. I am a real sucker for sweet voices & sweet lyrics... I'm in a little puddle right now. What a wonderful and love-filled tribute to all the people who were touched by all of the utter tragedies that we have seen -- what? In the last 10 years. And there will be another and another.

Thanks for sharing.

ITA---I'm a relative newby to PTSD & depression---it does spread through out the whole family. It is like a dark dark cloud that hovers over us. Tried explaining this to my sister (I also said that depression is contagious--she thinks I'm crazy, but truly it trickles down to all) I feel for these families and what they have to go thru. We all have our own triggers in this house----I can't imagine what they are going thru.

I truly dislike the shooter/felon/"that guy"---evil being

Today is the last day of the Aurora #theatershooting criminal court case, one of the most arduous in American history http://www.denverpost.com/theater-s...aximum-prison-sentence-aurora-theater-murders

Marshall Zelinger ‏@7Marshall · 4m4 minutes ago
Today, 1132 days since the #TheaterShooting, he will be sentenced to 3 times that many YEARS + 24 life sentences.

I felt bad for his parents. They shouldn't blame themselves. Mental illness can be a secretive thing in a family and people often don't feel comfortable speaking about it. If they'd had any idea he was going to commit such a heinous crime they would have stopped him.

Will the shooter have to stand for the entire sentencing? It might take some time. And we all know King struggles to stand for long periods!
