Is it too late for Schultz to cut a deal? It doesn't look good for him.

Lisa Powers, director of public information for Penn State, arrives to testify at administrators hearing.

A new name.

I wonder if the cover up goes beyond Penn State. :stormingmad:

Thanks, J.J., for keeping us up to date on the hearing.

The question in my mind is who cuts the first deal....Spanier is my guess. And secondly how much gets attached to Paterno? The Paterno family is probably in full damage control....again.

Not that much on the Paternos. Paterno said basically the same thing about trusting others. They issued a statement on Monday.

My guess is Curley. His attorney was vague and the AG's people did not put up a strong case, with virtually no new information on him.

Copies of preliminary hearing transcripts for July 29 and 30, 2013:

On main page for Curley, all are the same:

Keep an eye on that backup box recovered on July 2, 2012. Information from that postdates the Freeh emails....so whatever is on it will be new. Could be a lot too.

Wow. That's interesting. I thought it would be the defendant facing the most evidence -- in this case, Schultz -- who is the one most likely to look for a deal.

Are you suggesting that the AG and Curley's attorney may have already been working on a deal?

I would suspect that there are negotiations. Curley was barely mentioned during the preliminary. I think they want Spanier.

Curley, while not looking a death by cancer, certainly realizes it is not an impossibility. Seven years might be a lifetime for him.

I'm just reading tea leaves; I have not heard anything.
