Meurtre d'Arthur Noyer: une reconstitution en présence de Nordahl Lelandais organisée mercredi

Last year, Nordahl Lelandais admitted to a fight with the young soldier that had gone wrong. But the investigators, who only have his version, are not convinced by the theory of manslaughter.

Did Nordahl Lelandais lie? Almost a year after his revelations in the Corporal Arthur Noyer case, investigators are still doubting the suspect's version. He acknowledged a violent fight with the 23-year-old soldier that led to his death. A version that investigators do not believe in.

On the night of March 20-21, they are holding a reconstruction in the vicinity of Chambéry where the skull and bones of the victim had been found. Indeed, they do not know how, where and especially why Nordahl Lelandais and Arthur Noyer got into a fight, after leaving a nightclub in the centre of Chambéry.

Apart from a short video surveillance sequence and the demarcation of the phones of the two protagonists, the investigators have only one version, that of Nordahl Lelandais. He said he struck Arthur Noyer with several punches to the face, then noticed he had died due to a fall. The alleged assassin then deposited the body of the Corporal at the foot of the Bauges massif, 30km from Chambéry. Questions that also haunt the parents of the deceased young soldier, who still do not know if they will have the strength to attend tonight's reconstruction.

Nordahl Lelandais is also under investigation for the murder of little Maëlys. According to Maëlys' parents' lawyer, it will be necessary to be very careful with what the suspect claims during this reconstruction.

"I remember a reconstruction that was particularly long. And also a Nordahl Lelandais who was spreading his version, who was putting forward his arguments, who was part of the defence strategy, but who was not cooperating with the investigation services, who was not cooperating with the magistrates and investigators... With regard to this reconstruction in the Arthur Noyer case, I urge everyone to be extremely cautious because I do not believe in Nordahl Lelandais' cooperation in the Noyer case, nor in the Maëlys case," Fabien Rajon says.

In addition to the Noyer and Maëlys cases, Nordahl Lelandais is also charged with sexual assault on two cousins.

"I didn't really make the difference between a woman and a child," he told the investigating judges.)
For court dates 1/23/18 to 9/9/18 reference post #1286 here: Found Deceased - France - Maëlys De Araujo, 9, Pont-de-Beauvoisin, 27 Aug 2017
9/21/18 Update: Was back in court regarding video of sexual assault on his 6 yr old cousin. Questioned lasted about 3 hours.

9/24/18 Reconstruction: The convoy of about 20 vehicles has just left the multipurpose room to head for Domessin. In this convoy, we were able to see NLs' grey Audi A3 driven by a gendarme with a child's dummy at his side, showing Maëlys' presence in the vehicle. The Audi still had the gendarmerie seals on the doors and trunk. The convoy that was supposed to go to the Lelandais de Domessin residence has just made a stopover in the Pont-de-Beauvoisin shopping area on the Savoie side, where the Super U sign is located. New information was reported to have come to light during NLs' previous interrogations. Until now, no information about this car park located on the road between the city centre of Pont-de-Beauvoisin where the Audi A3 was filmed and the Lelandais' home had ever been filtered. Then they head towards the home of the Lelandais family in Domessin. Now headed for Attignat-Oncin, where NL had indicated that he had abandoned Maëlys' body in the middle of the forest. The reconstruction has just ended at the foot of Mont Grèle, in the commune of Attignat-Oncin where NL abandoned Maëlys' lifeless body in a stone quarry in the middle of the forest. NL provided new explanations during the 6:30 hours of this reconstruction, but also during his last interrogation, last Friday before the investigating judges of Grenoble. NL then returned to his home to change his blood-stained Bermuda shorts before returning to the wedding. Consequently, he never made this stop at the shed that he had initially described as the place where he had dumped Maëlys' body.
9/24/18 Update #2: NL has changed his version & no longer speaks of an accident. Contrary to what he had been saying since February 14 & his confession after six months of silence, explained that he had beaten Maëlys several times. New revelations, made to the investigating judges on Friday 21 Sept. during a new hearing, undermines his previous statements & the theory of the accident. Up till then, this was defended by the alleged murderer of the little Maëlys. He states that he gave four to five very violent blows to the little girl. Until then, Nordahl Lelandais claimed to have killed her " by accident" by slapping her on the way in his car. On the night of Monday, Sept. 24, during the first reconstruction held in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, the former dog-handler mimicked the actions inflicted on the child on a dummy, dressed in a white dress. NL even took the investigating judges to the place where he allegedly struck her: in a car park near a shopping centre in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, less than five minutes from the village hall.
11/9/18 Update: NL appeared before the judges again on Nov. 9. He was questioned about the death of Corporal Arthur Noyer. This is the third interrogation in this case. NL should be confronted in particular with the conclusions of the autopsy of Arthur Noyer's body. During his last interrogation (3/30/18), NL finally admitted to being involved in the young man's death, explaining that, during a fight, the corporal had fallen to the ground.
11/23/18: There is another damning piece of evidence for NL. Investigators found a 2nd video of sexual molestation of one of his little cousins on his mobile phone. The girl is the suspect's goddaughter and the child is five years old. He must explain himself after the discovery of a new video in which the 35-year-old ex-military subjects a young girl to sexual touching. Next hearing is scheduled for 12/7.

12/7/18 Update: NL has been indicted (12/7/18) for sexual assault on a minor & recording of child *advertiser censored* images. According to concurring sources, this indictment concerns the sexual touching of a little girl who was four years old at the time of the incident. Abusing his goddaughter, the daughter of a close friend. The video was taken in 2017 before the one where he was seen with his 6-year-old cousin. NL admitted in particular that he had "for some time" been attracted to children & had pedophilic tendencies. "I didn't really make the difference between a woman and a child," he told the investigating judges.

2/18/19 Update: Investigators will reopen 40 suspicious disappearance or death cases in which Nordahl Lelandais may be involved. The gendarmerie has since created a dedicated cell, called Ariane (January, 2018; composed of seven permanent gendarmes from the criminal intelligence service of the gendarmerie, assisted by the research sections involved in these cases, examined 900 unresolved cases on a quarter of the French departments and from a time frame of "about twenty years,"), to investigate possible links between the former dog handler & unsolved disappearances. After a year of work, they have now completed their first report. This unit has already issued two further calls for witnesses concerning disturbing disappearances in 2011 and 2016 in the Drôme department. The first concerns the disappearance of Nelly Balmain, a 29-year-old woman who has not been seen since she left her home in Saint-Jean-en-Royans in the Drôme region on her red scooter in the early evening of August 8, 2011. The second call for witnesses concerns Eric Foray, 47 years old, who disappeared on 16 September 2016 near Chatuzange-le-Goubet (Drôme). Both disappeared when they were 1h 30 from Nordalh Lelandais' home.
Of the 900 cases studied, about a third were excluded because they did not correspond to Lelandais' life course or because they have since been resolved. But about forty others have already caught the investigators' attention because they found elements concerning time (the most recent), geography (closest to the presumed killer's living places) or the profile of the victims (the most similar to Maëlys and Arthur Noyer). Even if no obvious link has been established with Lelandais at this stage, the gendarmes have decided to reopen these forty cases, which mainly concern unsolved disappearances. They will conduct much more in-depth research to formally establish whether Nordahl Lelandais is involved in one of these cold cases.
3/20/19 Update: The reconstruction of the murder of Arthur Noyer will take place during the night of Wednesday, March 20 to Thursday, March 21, between Chambéry and the town of Cruet, Savoy, where the skull and part of the bones of the young corporal were found.

Now I can shorten this! :)

Nordahl Lelandais à Chambéry mercredi soir pour la reconstitution de la disparition du caporal Noyer

Nordahl Lelandais will be taken again from his cell in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier (Isère) at the end of the day on Wednesday. Two years after Arthur Noyer's disappearance, Maëlys' alleged murderer will be taken to the site of the deadly encounter.

This is an essential part of the investigation that will take place this Wednesday evening into the disappearance of Arthur Noyer in April 2017 in Chambéry. The reconstruction of the facts is organised in the presence of the alleged assassin, Nordahl Lelandais from Savoie, who is under investigation in this case. The reenactment will be held in the dead of night.

860_860_carto-savoie-new.jpg

The reconstruction should lead magistrates, investigators, experts and lawyers to the Curial district, the Roc Noir military district and as far as Cruet, the pass of Marocaz where the bones of the young corporal were found.

Each of these places is located in very different environments. Carré Curial, in the city centre, is close to buildings, shops, famous discos and night bars. Further out of town is the military district of Roc Noir, where Corporal Noyer used to live. This is a residential area. The third sector is the commune of Cruet, at the foot of the Massif des Bauges and the Col de Marcocaz, surrounded by forests and cliffs.

Everywhere a security system will be put in place on Wednesday. During the reconstruction for the disappearance of Maëlys, some 200 soldiers and CRS were in action.

According to a source close to the file, most of the reconstruction tonight will not take place in the city centre, but further on, on the joint route of Nordahl Lelandais and Arthur Noyer, as revealed by their phones. During his hearing on Monday, in preparation for this reconstruction, the man from Savoie would have maintained his version of the facts: a meeting, a hitchhiking, a deadly fight. On the site, at night on Wednesday, Nordahl Lelandais may provide further details.

In the Curial district, journalists from different media marched for months on several occasions. Today, no one has forgotten the Lelandais / Noyer episode at Carré Curial, but no one talks much to the press anymore.

Here Nordahl Lelandais is described as a perverse character, indicted for abject facts.

"He's a psychopath, I work here at night, it could have been me. He could have done his sadistic stuff to me " - A merchant

The head of the neighbourhood's discotheques explained that two years later, that mainly the soldiers are still talking about Corporal Arthur Noyer's fate. The 24-year-old was a soldier in the 13th Battalion of the Alpine Hunters of Barby.

A reconstruction is in fact a series of actions in the same act: it is an act of transport to the scene, but also a moment of confrontation, contradiction, an expert can add elements, he can deduct something, explains Michèle Bernard Requin, a honorary judge and specialist in judicial procedures.

"The investigating judge must prepare all this thoroughly, he must secure the site, he must question the accused, he must ask him to describe his situation and his actions, he must have the action replayed, he must ask questions to all people concerned. All this is noted and reported by a clerk" - Expert Michèle Bernard Requin

It must be added that a reconstruction is an extremely secure operation, it is absolutely necessary to avoid private revenge.

Chambéry : une nuit de reconstitution pour l’assassinat du caporal Arthur Noyer

Liveblog reconstruction disappearance and murder of Arthur Noyer

photo-le-dl-1553122434.jpg

23h45 : The security arrangements for the gendarmes are being put in place. They're starting to block the rue de la République at the exit of Curial Square.

It was on this route that Corporal Noyer disappeared on the night of April 11-12, 2017 and was probably picked up by Nordahl Lelandais. It is therefore on this first sector that the investigating magistrates will concentrate at the beginning of this reconstruction in which the accused will participate.

They must then follow the itinerary that the two men did together and that led Nordahl Lelandais to the top of the Col du Marocaz where he abandoned the body of the corporal.

00h.00 : the gendarmes also positioned themselves on Place Paul Chevallier. It was there that the two mobile phones (Corporal Noyer's and Nordahl Lelandais') were co-located at the same time that night, April 11 to 12.

It is probably where Nordahl Lelandais was able to pick up Arthur Noyer as a hitchhiker. It is also from this square that the road that joins the 13th BCA's Roc Noir district starts.

00h15: the portion of the road currently covered by the grid is exactly the same as that covered by the Saint Hubert breed dog used by the gendarmes in the days following the disappearance of the corporal.

This dog specialized in cold trails had followed Arthur Noyer's trail of his nightclub exit before losing it at Place Paul Chevallier.

At that time, it was only a question of a worrying disappearance and Nordahl Lelandais was still a complete unknown.

Well, it's a bit shorter.... :)

Reconstitution pour l'assassinat du caporal Noyer : Lelandais a réintégré sa cellule

02h00 : a first stop of about 20 minutes took place on a roundabout located about 200 meters from the nightclub where Corporal Noyer had spent the evening. Nordahl Lelandais, hidden by white sheets stretched out by the gendarmes, boarded his Audi A3 for the purpose of the reconstruction. This is probably where Lelandais picked up Arthur Noyer as a hitchhiker. Residents of the city have been calling Lelandais names from their windows: "Assassin!"

The convoy then made a second, shorter stop at the location where the gendarmes' dog had lost track of the corporal during the search in April 2017.

From 03:00 to 05:00: the impressive convoy was in St. Baldoph. All access to the village was blocked, as was the area around Apremont. In the middle of the night, these two long hours spent in these sectors may have been decisive for revealing the truth. Is that where Lelandais and Arthur Noyer fought, according to the version of the man indicted. A fight that accidentally caused the corporal's death?

06h00 : the convoy has still not arrived at the Marocaz pass.

06h45 : access to the Marocaz pass is still closed by the gendarmes.

07h00 : the road leading to the Marocaz pass is also blocked at La Thuile. It is very likely that the convoy took this route to the place where Lelandais allegedly dumped Arthur Noyer's body. An itinerary never used before until this reconstruction.

07h15: The reconstruction is about to be completed. The convoy descended from the Col du Marocaz via the commune of Le Cruet. According to initial reports, Nordahl Lelandais was cooperative, while maintaining his version: a fight with beatings to the corporal who was reportedly killed in a fall. A scene that allegedly took place in the town of Saint-Baldoph.

08h30 : according to information from the Dauphiné Libéré, the reconstruction is continuing in the commune of Saint-Baldoph. That's where the crime was allegedly committed.

09h00 : the reconstruction has been completed.

9h15 am: According to information from the Dauphiné Libéré, the murder site is located on the heights of the Chemin de la Visitation, on the hillside, on the wooded heights of the commune of Saint-Baldoph.

The return of the convoy to Saint-Baldoph in the early morning was a choice of the investigating judges who wanted to "stick" to the "night reality", by moving up the Marocaz pass before dawn, even though the reconstruction of the "episode" of Saint-Baldoph was not yet complete.

It is there, on this small winding road, that Nordahl Lelandais reportedly abandoned the corporal's body, throwing him into steep woods. Then the convoy returned to St. Baldoph so that the judges could complete the reconstruction of this crucial moment. Shortly before 9 am, the convoy left the heights of the hamlet of Ronjou. In the middle of the morning, Nordahl Lelandais was scheduled to return to his cell.

11:00 am: Nordahl Lelandais returned to his cell in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier prison shortly after 11:00 am.

The reconstruction was ultra-secure, white sheets systematically stretched around Nordahl Lelandais and the communities were completely sealed off for many hours.

In the middle of the night, in the streets of Chambéry, residents booed Nordahl Lelandais with the cries of "murderer" or "hang him!"

For the occasion, the suspect's grey Audi A 3 was brought to the scene. Hidden behind white sheets positioned by the police, the scene did not escape the attention of residents who came to see Lelandais. "*advertiser censored*,""How do you sleep at night? "... Several insults were hurled at him.

The public prosecutor of Chambéry Thierry Dran announced that there would be no communication following this reconstruction.

Two important questions remain unanswered:

The reporter in the video on BFMTV mentions that NL claims he saw Arthur Noyer for the first time on the roundabout in the centre of Chambery. However, the prosecution suspects that he saw him before during the evening and the crime was premeditated.
Affaire Noyer: Nordahl Lelandais a coopéré lors de la reconstitution

The other big question is of course WHY he drove off in a direction almost opposite to the barracks of the Alpine Hunters and home of Arthur Noyer. It is all very well to know that the two men would have gotten into a fight there according to NL, but why were they in that tiny winding road on the south of Chambéry to begin with?

I always wondered about Arthur's phone. It was lost/stolen at one point, along with his jacket. I thought he found them again, before leaving the bar. Was this a part of the reconstruction? Where is Arthur's phone?

From December, 2017: "According to our information, the night of his disappearance, Arthur Noyer allegedly told some witnesses that his jacket and cell phone were stolen. Two material elements that the investigators tried to find, yesterday, during a search in the home of the parents of Nordhal Lelandais, where he lived before his arrest in August 2017."

Yes they did.

Nordahl Lelandais : voici comment s'est déroulée la reconstitution de la nuit où Arthur Noyer est mort

(...) The convoy then headed towards the town of Saint-Badolph, located 6 kilometres from Chambéry. The telephones of Nordahl Lelandais and Arthur Noyer had pinged there on the night of the tragedy. According to France Bleu Isère, the convoy stayed there for nearly two hours. This is supposedly the place where, according to Nordahl Lelandais, the fight broke out, and where Arthur Noyer fell on his head. According to Le Dauphiné libéré, the place of death is located "on the heights of the Chemin de la Visitation, on the hillside, on the wooded heights of the commune of Saint-Badolph."

The convoy then went to the town of Cruet, at the foot of the Bauges massif and the Col de Marocaz, near Montmélian, where Nordahl Lelandais says he left the body and where the bones of Arthur Noyer, and specifically his skull, would be found in September.

The convoy then returned to the town of Saint-Badolph, Le Parisien reports. It was in fact the investigating judges who made this choice to "stick" to the "night reality" by moving up the Marocaz pass before dawn, at the same times as the night of the tragedy, even though the reconstruction of the facts in Saint-Badolph was not yet complete. That's why the convoy then returned there, Le Dauphiné libéré explains, to complete the reconstruction of the scene.

We still don't know the cause of this fight.

It is also not known whether Nordahl Lelandais accurately identified the location where the fight allegedly took place and whether he revealed the reasons for the altercation. The victim's parents and their lawyer fear that in the absence of new material evidence, the former soldier will say no more about the night of the tragedy.

In the Maëlys case, for which he is indicted for murder, Nordahl Lelandais confessed only in the face of irrefutable evidence: a drop of blood belonging to the girl in the trunk of his car. But in this case too, several unknowns remain: for example, it is unknown where the former dog-handler left the child's body before disposing of it in the mountains.

BBM

The report also mentions that maître Bernard Boulloud, lawyer of Arthur Noyer's parents was present. No mention is made of the presence of the parents.
Nordahl Lelandais' lawyer Alain Jakubowicz was also there, he has been very quiet lately...

Before the reconstruction took place, France Soir reported:
Affaire Arthur Noyer: une reconstitution avec Nordahl Lelandais

The man who has already admitted to kidnapping and killing little Maëlys de Araujo one night in August 2017 in Pont-de-Beauvoisin also acknowledged his involvement in the young soldier's death. He admits to having picked him up during the night of 11 to 12 April 2017 in the centre of the Savoyard prefecture. The former dog handler explained that an altercation between the two men was followed by a fight on a country road around Chambéry that allegedly caused the victim's death.

However, there are still many grey areas around this case. Although it seems to be true that Arthur Noyer had just left a drunken night at the disco and was trying to return to his 13th BCA barracks, a number of elements remain unclear. Did Nordahl Lelandais really kill the soldier when he wanted to bring him back to his barracks? Was the argument really spontaneous?
Since the beginning of the case, there has been a shadow of Nordahl Lelandais as a predator, who may have been looking for prey that night before spotting the corporal.

But the motive for the crime remains unclear, and the suspect has only admitted the facts in small doses, only when investigations have revealed indisputable elements such as the simultaneous demarcation of their mobile phones.

3/20/19 Update: During his hearing on Monday (3/18/19), in preparation for this reconstruction, the man from Savoie would have maintained his version of the facts: a meeting, a hitchhiking, a deadly fight. On the site, at night on Wednesday, Nordahl Lelandais may provide further details.
Reconstruction: Each of these places is located in very different environments. Arthur Noyer's parents arrived in Chambéry on Wednesday during the day. Accompanied by their lawyer, they may be present at the reconstruction of their son's disappearance. This reconstruction will start late at night. The investigating magistrates decided to conduct the reconstruction in the same time frame as during the tragic night. It was 2:56 am when Arthur Noyer was last seen by the cameras after leaving Curial Square.

3/20/19 Update #2: 2:00am: a first stop of about 20 minutes took place on a roundabout located about 200 meters from the nightclub where Corporal Noyer had spent the evening. NL boarded his Audi A3 for the purpose of the reconstruction. This is probably where Lelandais picked up Arthur Noyer as a hitchhiker. The convoy then made a 2nd, shorter stop at the location where the gendarmes' dog had lost track of the corporal during the search in April 2017.
From 3:00am to 5:00am: the convoy was in St. Baldoph. In the middle of the night, 2 hours spent in these sectors may have been decisive for revealing the truth. Is that where Lelandais & Arthur Noyer fought, according to the version of NL.
6:00am: the convoy has still not arrived at the Marocaz pass.
6:45am: access to the Marocaz pass is still closed by the gendarmes.
7:00am: the road leading to the Marocaz pass is also blocked at La Thuile. It is very likely that the convoy took this route to the place where NL allegedly dumped Noyer's body.
7:15am: The reconstruction is about to be completed.
8:30am: the reconstruction is continuing in the commune of Saint-Baldoph. That's where the crime was allegedly committed.
9:00am: the reconstruction has been completed.
9:15am: the murder site is located on the heights of the Chemin de la Visitation, on the hillside, on the wooded heights of the commune of Saint-Baldoph.
11:00am: NL returned to his cell in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier prison shortly after 11:00 am.

3/21/19 Update: The Reconstruction: to the town of Saint-Badolph, located 6 kilometres from Chambéry. The cell phones of NL & Noyer had pinged there on the night of the murder. The convoy stayed there for nearly two hours. This is supposedly the place where, according to NL, the fight broke out, & where Noyer fell on his head. "The place of death is located "on the heights of the Chemin de la Visitation, on the hillside, on the wooded heights of the commune of Saint-Badolph.
The convoy then went to the town of Cruet, at the foot of the Bauges massif & the Col de Marocaz, near Montmélian, where NL says he left the body & where the bones of Noyer, and specifically his skull, would be found in September.
Then they returned to the town of Saint-Badolph. It was in fact the investigating judges who made this choice to "stick" to the "night reality" by moving up the Marocaz pass before dawn, at the same times as the night of the tragedy, even though the reconstruction of the facts in Saint-Badolph was not yet complete. That's why the convoy then returned there to complete the reconstruction of the scene. No further dates available.

Affaire Suivante invited the two lawyers, Bernard Boulloud, lawyer for the Noyer family and Fabien Rajon, lawyer for the family of little Maëlys.

Link to the interview, at 22.30 min.:

When interviewed about Nordahl Lelandais, lawyer Bernard Boulloud does not mention his name, he refers to the person. In French, person is female, la personne, so this is a bit confusing at first. The lawyer says: she might not have assisted.... she has answered questions... But the lawyer is referring to la personne and that personne is Nordahl Lelandais.
The lawyer does not mention his name, because the parents of Arthur Noyer don't do that. They were in Chambéry during the reconstruction, but they opted not to attend because they did not want their presence to give any gratification to the person.

The reconstruction was very well organized.

Lawyer Rajon says that it is not a matter of the quantité of the answers of NL. but of the qualité. The quality of the answers determines if we are on the road to the truth. NL gives his own version and the lawyer has his doubts.
Lawyer Boulloud: He adapts to objective facts in the file when these contradict his version what happened. If he really is on the road to redemption and to that of the truth .... Maitre Boulloud has his doubts.

The interviewer on the left describes the movements of the two phones (from 30 min.00) and concludes that for NL these are the same movements (phone is switched into flight mode at the moment of the abduction/crime, and is only reconnected when NL arrives home) as those during the night that Maëlys disappeared.
Boulloud says switching a phone to flight mode is a voluntary act, an objective element in the file.
Rajon: He takes many precautions to make evidence disappear. He leaves the remains in nature. The body of the little girl disintegrates. Evidence disappears and we do not know what really happened.
They mention the attacks on the two little cousins.

Arthur had his phone back on him by the time he was picked up by Nordahl. Both his phone and Nordahl's traveled together until both phones switched off. Arthur's phone was never powered on again, whereas Nordahl's was switched back on (from airplane mode) when he got home in the morning.

There was a good discussion on "that individual's" personality and psychological profile. Comparisons were made with a German serial killer from Düsseldorf, Peter Kürten.

Maître Boulloud mentions again, at the very end, that he still does not know which forty cases are being investigated.

It was a pleasure listening to both lawyers. They are very precise in what they say and how they say it. The German serial killer from Düsseldorf, Peter Kürten is mentioned because he killed little girls, women of a certain age and also men. Lawyer Boulloud prefers the term 'prédateur social' for of NL.

I would like to hear from Alain Jacubowicz, the defense counsel. I suspect he has a different strategy and contacts with the press are no longer part of it. Wouldn't he want to know more about the 40 cases?

Bagnols-sur-Cèze : des fouilles près de la maison de Lucas Tronche

Bagnols-sur-Cèze: searches near Lucas Tronche's home

Info midi libre - Investigators from the criminal brigade of the SRPJ of Montpellier, as well as forensic identification technicians, have been carrying out searches around the home of the Tronche family in Bagnols-sur-Cèze since Tuesday 26 March.

Lucas, 15, disappeared from his home on March 18, 2015, when he was supposed to meet his brother at a bus stop a few hundred meters away to go to the pool. These searches were decided by the investigating judge who carried out a kind of reconstruction of the facts on the spot on 14 March last, for several hours.

"These searches were carried out after having made observations in the surroundings and in places that may not have been fully searched after Lucas' disappearance," according to a well-informed source. They ended last night, "without result," we were told. Further similar investigations could take place in the coming weeks in areas that this teenager, who loved nature very much and walked in this sparsely populated area of Bagnols, used to frequent.

Sadly though not unlikely, this is starting to look like the Antoine Zoia scenario. There are other possible scenarios of course, though not that many.

Nordahl Lelandais, the Guyanese shadow areas

The man suspected of being a serial killer in France has been in French Guiana twice as a soldier in the army. Which seems to have had a strong impact on him.
We thought we knew everything about Nordahl Lelandais' life.
And as with other suspected killers before him, new aspects appear as the investigation progresses, like slices when peeling an onion. And sometimes this can hurt and make you cry. This is the case for Nordahl Lelandais. As we scratch in the past of the man who confessed to killing little Maëlys in Isère and the young corporal Arthur Noyer in Savoy, we discover aspects...

Boom! Paywall! Cliffhanger! Sorry!

Should I invest €1,70 for a daypass? I am very curious, but the reference to peeling onions makes me a bit wary.
Still, when Jean-Yves Coquilllat retired as Public Prosecutor in Grenolble, he was succeeded by Eric Vaillant, who had been Public Prosecutor in Cayenne, Guiana until that date. So maybe there is more to it after all.
