I was afraid this would happen. They would like to make it appear as though she is not a reliable witness. I'm just praying the test on the gun will come back positive as the murder weapon.

Yes, I think that's the strategy right now. To make it appear that she's ID'd the wrong boys.

As time goes on though I think the forensics will change their strategy into "these boys aren't so very bad".

*rolls eyes* These boys are without souls. At least DE. I'm not convinced that DL had any more evil intent than to steal a little cash. I'm not convinced he thought shooting a baby in the face was what he signed up for. He's young, and it doesn't seem DL had any part in shooting that baby - apart from his intent to steal a little money from the mom.

So lying is "shifting" and liking the cartoon Tom n Jerry precludes being a coldblooded killer.

He is well suited to his client IMO

If this thing goes to trial be prepared to see lots and lots of "shifting"

I know. This is REALLY hurting my heart. Here is this woman, who is burdened with medical problems and mental health problems and also a history of some social problems, and then two delinquents shot her baby in the face while she was out for a walk with him and now EVERYONE has turned on her. I can't imagine. It's just wrenching.

On the other hand, this daughter was taken away by the state due to the mother's inability to parent. Maybe she felt like she was doing the right thing in raising the question as to whether her mother caused this, especially after the mother was inquiring about insurance on the very day her baby was shot. The daughter may have had real questions as to what happened. Sad.

She should have brought her suspicions to the proper authorities-not the media. Now the case is in jeopardy and she is at the very least impeachable as a witness to the murder. The main witness.

It's very possible that Luis will be drug into this too (implicated). He was arrested for yelling at Sherry the morning of their baby's death (inappropriate behavior). He might also have psychiatric records.

Hang on tl - I just don't see a judge allowing mom's psychiatric records to be released. Nope. No way. It has absolutely no bearing on this crime. NONE.

I thought the only way to have psychiatric records released would be if it was thought there was some guilt of a crime.
I can't imagine how walking with a child would be cause to have her privacy invaded.

Right. But children who are taken away by the state, because their mothers are neglectful and then later go on to have other babies are sometimes so damaged they can't think clearly.

This daughter might not have been able to think clearly. Dear Antonio's mother wasn't able to think clearly either, and then out of nowhere these two juveniles came up and killed the baby. Awful.

I caught that earlier from your link.I think he is going to try for diminshed capacity,which probably won't fly as DE fled and might have hid the weapon.

I just knew this would happen the moment I read what the daughter said to the press! I don't fault the defense attorney. He's doing his job and any good attorney would have IMMEDIATELY jumped on this woman's statements! That and immediately trying to "humanize" his client-he's just a child-he likes Tom and Jerry-he's very immature for his age..etc...then what the heck was he doing with a loaded gun robbing a woman walking her baby and then proceeding to shoot that baby between the eyes!?!?!?!?! Did he think the baby was a cartoon and the gun was just a prop gun???

It must take a very unique kind of evil to do what he is accused of doing. I have honestly never heard of such a thing!!!

As I said before, someone needs to step forward and go to this woman and any other supportive people in her life and get her some help and advocacy. She needs to have counseling, an attorney and a licensed victims advocate in order to protect her from all that is crashing in around her.

I read they searched the home for a gun and tested both the mother and father for gun residue-and came up negative.

This whole thing scares the heck out of me-that someone who has a possible history of mental illness or a sketchy background can become the victim of violence and be slammed and accused of horrors.

This reminds me of the hymn-Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers that you do unto me.

I am just so sad and frustrated and angry right now. I thought this story couldn't get any worse-as it is honestly one of the most hideous things I have ever heard-and it just keeps getting ugiler and uglier.

RIP sweet baby Antionio-I pray for justice for you and for peace to your mother and all of your loved ones. Please watch over her and comfort her from the other side, where you are truly now one of God's little angels.

I have a bit of confusion. I have seen the younger teens name two different ways. The initial stories had his last name ending in letter "e" and more recent stories list his name as ending in "g".

I know we probably won't get the answer unless he is moved over to superior court but it is really a PITA to do searches for articles when they are spelling his name several ways.

He apparently was upset because she walked where he supposedly told her not to walk before. He wanted her to have been taking another route or something like that.

How do you know Antonio's mother wasn't able to think clearly. Antonio photos look like he was a healthy baby and well taken care of. I would guess 99% of the population wouldn't be able to think clearly after a child of theirs was murdered before their very eyes.

it really is unfathomable jjenny. Its why I at first said this crime made no sense and it makes no more sense today. It is just senseless and hateful and heartless and I don't expect to ever understand it.

Instead of lamenting this poor woman's lack of support... are there any organizations in her area that can be contacted that could reach out and offer support to SW?

It is killing me to see this poor woman being exploited by the media and blamed by her own family.
