Many thanks to everyone updating this thread, but especially YESorNO. You've been an absolute star.

Happy with the verdict. I had no idea which way it was heading.

Thank God!!! I signed in to Wildabouttrial livestream but I had missed the verdict announcement so I watched the judge polling the jurors and watched faces of tex and rattail without knowing what the verdict was (!!!) but I decided it might be guilty because rattail appeared grim faced. Great job jurors!!!! Tex appeared as usual ... vacant. Hope he has pkenty of reading up to do (gun safety, perhaps?) in PRISON.

PS my "Hilarious!" remark above was not about verdict but about tbe post that atty was airing out his gross braid.

I am so happy!!!!!!!! Justice Prevails!!!!!!!!
I am crying happy tears. My deepest thanks to my hometown, Atlanta, and to Clint Rucker, Paul Howard, the District Attorneys office and most of all to Dani Jo Carter, my childhood friend Tom Carter’s wife, for her bravery. Just saw her give Clint Rucker a big hug. Dani Jo clearly loved her best friend, Diane McIver, and stood up for her in life and after her death.

Yes, thank you to YESorNO!!! As much as I wanted to watch the whole thing, I couldn't, but was still able to follow along each day.

Thank You!

Wow, so the next step is the sentencing. How long will that take? Days? Weeks?

One more time....I like to look at it.....:D

I thought it was a still picture until I saw Samuels blinking to the side.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was medicated today, and possibly throughout this entire trial. I do think he thought he was going to walk scot free all along. I'm sure that's what his attorneys were telling him.

How on earth was this felony murder though?

Felony murder is when you kill someone during the commission of a felony right? So what was the felony?

Did they all 12 think he didn't plan to kill her when he asked for his gun?

I'm just thinking this through, is it even a possibility that if 11 jurors thought it was malice murder and one disagreed, they would have to return a vote of not guilty on the 1st count? Because if so I feel felony murder was a compromise to get out of there.

I believe he had this planned all day at least.

Prominent Atlanta attorney Tex McIver found guilty in shooting death of wife

"...His charges include felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and influencing witnesses..

Monday morning marked the fifth day of deliberations. The day began with the jury asking several questions about the charges, including a clarification on the definition of "misleading conduct."

Last week, the jury told the judge they were making progress but appeared to be deadlocked by early Monday afternoon.

The judge said he wants the jury to continue deliberations and consider lesser included offenses after lunch. The defense objected, staying they don't want the judge to mention lesser included charges. .."

I'm going to have to go back and watch closing arguments to see what the underlying felony was and why that charge was included.

Best guess was a compromise verdict meaning someone didn’t believe #TexMciver did it with “malice” - however Aggravated assault requires intent to inflict serious injury so compromise = NG on Malice Murder. Same sentence (life) either way

Can someone explain to me how the evidence fits the definition of felony murder/clarify that definition? @PhilHollowayEsq or anyone?? #texmciver
