Tex McIver case: At Ga. lawyer's murder trial, nurse testifies to his wife's dying words

"...WGCL reports that nurse Allison Neely testified she was in the lobby on the night Diane was brought in, and that McIver's attorney was the first person to show up to the hospital.

She said at one point McIver and Dani Jo Carter were huddled close to his attorney and a man with shoulder length hair. Neely said McIver didn't appear to be upset.

"He was emotionless," Neely said.

McIver reportedly kept the same demeanor in court on Thursday, but at one point during testimony he turned away from the camera and began to tear up...."

Nurses Take the Stand in Tex McIver Murder Trial
Four nurses who were at Emory University Hospital's ER the night Diane McIver died recounted the behavior and statements made by Tex McIver when asked what had happened and how his wife was shot.

"Two nurses at Emory University Hospital who wheeled Diane McIver into the hospital’s emergency room the night she died said that both McIver and her husband, Claud “Tex” McIver, told them the shooting was an accident.

But one of those nurses, Allison Neeley, testified that Tex McIver was “emotionless” as his wife was dying. “He did not appear upset or distraught,” she said.

Prosecutors have hinted that, instead of rushing her to closer hospitals in downtown Atlanta, one a trauma center at Grady Memorial Hospital, they instead drove to a hospital an estimated 15 minutes away after McIver fired a bullet into his wife’s back. Prosecutors are suggesting that delay could have been part of McIver’s plan to kill his wife...."

ER Nurse Testifies Tex McIver Huddled With Lawyer as His Wife Was Dying
Terri Sullivan, an emergency room nurse at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, testified that, when she learned Diane McIver had been shot, she was "suspicious there had been foul play."

"An emergency room nurse on duty the night Diane McIver died of a gunshot wound testified Friday that she overheard a lawyer tell the woman’s husband, Atlanta attorney Claud “Tex” McIver, “This is what you’re going to tell them.”

“I had the impression there was a plan being enacted,” Emory University Hospital ER nurse Terri Sullivan said. Tex McIver, a woman wearing a cowboy hat she identified as family friend Dani Jo Carter and a man carrying a legal pad that prosecutors have identified as McIver’s attorney, Stephen Maples, “were kind of huddling like … a sports team, kind of holding on in a small circle,” she said.

Sullivan is the fifth Emory ER nurse to testify at Tex McIver’s ongoing murder trial...

Sullivan said she was so concerned about what she overheard that she asked another nurse to keep tabs on the group “to see what she could hear either to corroborate what I had heard or to see further whether there was an inappropriate discussion going on.”..."

Dr. Hardy to Diane McIver before intubation: “Would you like to see your husband?” Diane: “No.” #11Alive #TexMciver

I was thinking about Diane tonight and wondered why she wouldn't want to see her husband before she went to the operating room??? I thought that was strange because she thought she was dying and I would want to see my DH - maybe for the last time. I'm gonna watch the prosecutor's opening statement again- maybe that would help me sort this out some. Something strange about their marriage at the time and maybe it's true that he wanted her money and the ranch?? Why would he have his finger on the trigger- wasn't there a safety. Why have the gun so ready when no one was trying to harm them in the car at the time? So many questions.....

Thanks for all the tweets and articles YESorNO!

from article post #214 said:

Was there a hospital "closer" than this 15 minutes away?? Anyone know?
TIA!

Have to agree with you on being wheeled into an operating room and you know you're dying, I would want to talk and see my DH!!

Some fishing about the marriage....

and for today:
Monday, March 19th:
*Trial continues (Day 5) (@ 9am ET) - GA - Diane McIver (63) (Sept. 25, 2016) - Claud "Tex" L. McIver (74/now 76) arrested (12/14/16) charged (4/27/17) with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and three counts of influencing witnesses and bribery. Pled not guilty.

just started watching this trial and getting caught up...some initial observations...judge playing to the camera and a bit too "involved" for my taste...agree with post above that there is something off with this marriage long before this....something big wrong....most often they were three..either stringer or Dani and I the descriptions of Diane are of a really really driven woman. Just a wild thought but does anyone know if it is possible that "Tex" was having an affair with Dani Jo? Sure would not be the first time for him.
