Such a tragedy, I keep coming on here for my updates, thanks to all of you for all the links and updates on this tragedy. So sad that another victim has passed.

Heinze Jr's father Guy Heinze Sr. is the owner of the mobile home. But it has not been released if Heinze Sr. was one of the ones killed in the murders.
"I am not going to rule him (Heinze Jr.) out," says Doering, "I am not going to call him a suspect." I just can't tell you with certainty if it was one two or more, I just don't have the information. If I did, I would give it to you."
Doering went on to say, "If I was looking for a suspect, I would tell you. We are not looking for any known suspects, it doesn't mean there are no suspects, they are just not known to us."

quote of the day, "IT DOESN'T MEAN THERE ARE NO SUSPECTS"

The only survivor among four siblings attacked in a Glynn County mobile home massacre died today, increasing the carnage to eight dead, police said tonight.
Capt. Marissa Tindale, head of the detectives division with the Glynn County Police Department, said Michael Toler, 19, died about noon Sunday. He had been listed in critical condition at a Savannah hospital.
A woman familiar with the family who also managed the trailer park where they lived said that Michael is the son of Russell "Rusty" Toler. That woman and a law enforcement source have told the Times-Union Rusty Toler is among the dead.
Toler's three other children also died in the attack, the woman said. The Times-Union is not identifying the other children because their names have not been confirmed.
The only survivor is a young boy, said a member of his family and the woman. Police Chief Matt Doering has said Michael and the second survivor were initially hospitalized in critical condition.

once again, I have lots of questions on how Toler and Sr came to be two adult males living in the same trailer....

Guy Heinze Jr., 22, was arrested late Saturday and also faces charges of illegal possession of prescription drugs and marijuana, said Doering.
"He was a family member who came home and discovered (the victims), at least that's what he told us," Doering said.
Asked if Heinze was involved in the slayings, Doering said: "I'm not going to rule him out, but I'm not going to characterize him as a suspect

guess this tells us that he was "out and about' ((according to him)) during the shootings and happened upon them. Another piece to the puzzle....

I agree. this looks to be an older trailer. probably a 3 bedroom. 9 people is one 3 bedroom singlewide trailer is awefully tight.
No crap jnTexas! Very tight indeedy! And if we are to believe the "source" reports that one of the dead was a boyfriend of one of the kids who were killed was he living there too or just visiting?

I also must throw out there (as a tangent of thinking) that IF IF IF IF IF (did I say if?) Junior was really out all night and came home to the carnage... his obstruction and various other charges could be related to the fact that he was trying to keep cops out of his drug stash and similar lifestyle. It is always amazing to me how selfish and self serving addicts can be...

ETA: could the same afore mentioned "selfishness" of addicts be a reason to commit such mass murder???

the connections between the Toler and Heinze families are burning a hole in my brain!

Don't know if this has been posted...

Doering
also wouldn't elaborate on statements he made earlier today that a 10th person is involved "who may or may not have killed themselves" and that police had taken an interest in one or more people who were not at the crime scene.

McIntosh County Chief Deputy William Jennings said the sheriff's office had an open file on a complaint Heinze made against the owner of the park.
Because Heinze had gotten behind on his rent payments for his lot, the owner apparently took possession of the mobile home and sold it to someone else, Jennings said.
Heinze found himself locked out of his own property and called the sheriff's office, which investigated, Jennings said.

Heinze reported finding the victims about 8 a.m. in the mobile home park 10 miles north of Brunswick. County Coroner Jimmy Durden said the victims appeared to have been killed overnight. Their bodies were discovered on the floor and beds inside the mobile home.
Because of the severity of the injuries, their identities and manner in which they were slain could not be readily determined.

Rusty Toler is the father of Micheal Toler. Three of his other children are reportedly among the dead.

The mobile home is as single wide.

Grig" and wretched1, I just talked with my brother in Brunswick and the District Attorney lives in his subdivision and he told my brother that the one still alive is a 3 year old and his chances of survival are good. He also told him that they have arrested a second man. He's going to watch the news and if anything changes he said he would call me. For a person to take another person's life because of drugs, robbery or just being evil is wrong so wrong, shooting a 3 year old is just unthinkable in my book. The DA did tell him they are not sure if the 3 year old can tell them who shot them or not. But they were not strangers to the family, like I said, one is a relative.

Rumors from topix... Take with a grain (or two) of salt

The boy who died was rumored to have Down's and the other is a 5yo boy. 5 were white, one mixed and one black.

There is also speculation that the killings are somehow related to the murder of a local Pizza Hut work (revenge). See below

http://www.news4jax.com/news4georgia/20534662/detail.html

Names are supposed to be-

Guy Heinze Sr.
Russell "Rusty" Toler
Michelle Toler (Rusty's daughter). Michelle is 15 and was enrolled in the eighth grade at Needwood Middle School.
Toler's 3 children (died) and one child in the hospital along with his grandchild.
A woman was killed and also the boyfriend of one of Toler's daughters.

Again, don't know if this has been posted:

There's background on the family. Guy Sr. was an out-of-work trucker with a Chicago connection.

Bryant, 51, of Illinois, said Guy Heinze Sr. was one of nine siblings born in the Chicago area. He said they were all given up for adoption and several lived troubled lives that included drug abuse. Bryant said Guy Heinze Sr.'s wife died a few years ago in Georgia of a drug overdose.

And The Pizza Hut again.

Saturday's deaths were preceded by two separate slayings in Glynn County last weekend. One man was killed in a robbery on a neighborhood street just north of Brunswick, while another man died in a robbery at a Pizza Hut restaurant. Arrests were made in both cases.

Thanks Annie and Nursebee for the updates. These cases are starting to scare the bejezus outta me. I hope this one is solved quickly.

I hear both of you. I just keep thinking how hard it would be for one person to pick off 9 people one by one in that small of an enclosed area. All it would take is one of the vics crying out and they'd all wake up and pandemonium would have insued. Could two pull it off? How many would it take? I feel for the entire community having to try to sleep while there are suspect(s) on the loose.

SuziQ, I was wondering how the neighbors didn't hear anything, as well. I checked out some of the pictures from the crime scene and I suspect the MH's have window unit air
conditioners, so that would probably mask the sound. Unless the victims were lead to believe it was only going to be a robbery, I can't see how any of them didn't feel the terror.

PS - thanks to everyone for keeping us updated on this.

I think we seem to question that is so many cases but from what Beth Karis has said over the years many times gunshots are not heard even if it was in an apartment complex and someone lived right by the person that got shot.

It does tend to make me think that possibly handguns were used instead of a shotgun. A shotgun has a huge boom and to go off this many times I do believe someone would have heard it.

If they were shot at point blank rage then just by having the gun up against the skull would absorb some of the sound.

To me they had to come in with weapons drawn and tie these people up and then methodically kill them one by one like Joesph Duncan did to the Greone family. I don't think they all could have been sleeping when shot because some of them would have heard the commotion and tried to flee and would most likely have other gunshot wounds instead of being shot in the head.

I sure hope LE brings these monsters down. How they wiped out everyone there including young children shows how dangerous they are.

imo
