Officials with the Fulton county court handed the indictment to judge Robert McBurney.
Proposed trial date on 8/5/24. Judge Scott McAfee presiding. Though McAfee was assigned the case soon after the indictment was handed up on Monday evening, it could be transferred to a different judge later in the process.

12/15/23 Update: Meadows finally got his day in federal court on the removal issue last Friday when the 11th Circuit considered his argument. It did not appear to go well for him & it seems likely that both he & Jeff Clark, who has a similar appeal pending, will find themselves stuck in state court along with all of Trump’s other co-defendants. U.S. Appeals Court says criminal case against Meadows must remain in State Court.

1/3/24 Update: Smith: Reply to Brief in Support of Special Demurrer on the Solicitation Counts. Smith, joined by other defendants, has filed a Special Demurrer challenging the sufficiency of the allegations in Count 1, Acts 23, 55, 103 & Counts 2, 6 & 23. Oral argument on this issue was held on 12/1/23 & the State thereafter filed a Supplemental Brief arguing that the indictment sufficiently alleges the offenses in those Counts. This is Smith's Reply to the Prosecution's Supplement Brief.
1/4/24 Update: Meadows: The lawyers added are Paul Clement (the attorney with Supreme Court experience), Erin Murphy & Zachary Lustbader for his appeal. Meadows' attorneys have also asked the 11th Circuit to rehear his appeal. Was denied on 12/15/23, Instead of a three-judge panel, his team is hoping the entire court will hear it. This will take time as it goes through the courts. Fulton County Superior Court & the U.S. 11th Circuit of Appeals have ruled against Meadows, so far.

Plea in Abatement [that the indictment was not presented to a properly constituted grand jury. 1/8/24 Update: Trump's attorneys have filed 3 motions aimed at stopping the sprawling racketeering prosecution against him. In one motion, they argue Trump is immune from prosecution, citing presidential immunity & the U.S. Constitution's Supremacy Clause. In a second, argues the form president cannot be tried Georgia for 2020 election crimes because Trump was tried acquitted by the U.S. Senate on the same alleged facts cited in the indictment & the third, they cite due process protections for Trump.
1/8/24 Update: Roman: Attorneys filed a motion claiming DA Willis is involved in an "improper" romantic relationship with Wade working on the case. The filing points to no evidence & relies fully on "sources close to both the special prosecutor & the DA. Based on the new allegations, Roman's legal team is seeking to get his charges dismissed "on the grounds that the entire prosecution is invalid & unconstitutional. They also ask the Judge to disqualify Willis, Wade & the Fulton County DA's office from prosecuting the case.
1/9/24 Update: Notice of Motions hearing. [Matters previously scheduled for argument on 12/1/23 was rescheduled on 1/12/24 @ 2:30pm for all defendants]
*Scott Graham Hall - (fake GOP elector tied to Coffee County breach) Plead guilty (9/29/23) & sentenced to 5 years of probation in exchange for testimony moving forward (including at trials of other co-defendants), a $5K fine & 200 hours of community service. Probation becomes non-reporting after 2.5 years, assuming he does not violate his probation during those initial 2.5 years. And will have to write letter of apology to Georgia citizens.
*Sidney Katherine Powell (68) - took a plea deal & plead guilty to 6 counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties & sentenced to 6 years probation, required to testify at future trials, pay at $6K fine & #2,700 in restitution to the State & write an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia & admit her role in the January 2021 breach of election systems in Coffee County.
*Kenneth John Chesebro (61/now 62) – took a plea deal (10/20/23) & plead guilty to Count 15 Conspiracy to commit filing false documents. All other charges dismissed. Sentenced to 5 years probation, $5K restitution fine, 100 hours of community service & an apologize letter to the citizens of Georgia & testify against all other co-conspirators truthfully. Also no communication with media, witnesses & co-defendants, recorded proffer with prosecutors, provide documents & evidence. Resides in Puerto Rico & Judge will see if he can get probation transferred there. As part of his plea deal, Chesebro admitted that he conspired to put forward fake GOP electors in Georgia with Trump & former Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani & John Eastman. Giuliani & Eastman have both pleaded not guilty in the Georgia case & now face the prospect of Chesebro taking the witness stand against them."
*Jenna Lynn Ellis (38/now 39) – Took a plea deal to charge of aiding & abetting false statements & writings. Ellis plead guilty on 10/24/23. Sentenced to 5 years probation, $5K fine, apology letter to the citizens of Georgia, 100 hours of community service & testify truthfully against other co-defendants.

12/15/23 Update: Meadows finally got his day in federal court on the removal issue last Friday when the 11th Circuit considered his argument. It did not appear to go well for him & it seems likely that both he & Jeff Clark, who has a similar appeal pending, will find themselves stuck in state court along with all of Trump’s other co-defendants. U.S. Appeals Court says criminal case against Meadows must remain in State Court.

1/4/24 Update: Meadows: The lawyers added are Paul Clement (the attorney with Supreme Court experience), Erin Murphy & Zachary Lustbader for his appeal. Meadows' attorneys have also asked the 11th Circuit to rehear his appeal. Was denied on 12/15/23, Instead of a three-judge panel, his team is hoping the entire court will hear it. This will take time as it goes through the courts. Fulton County Superior Court & the U.S. 11th Circuit of Appeals have ruled against Meadows, so far.

1/8/24 Update: Trump's attorneys have filed 3 motions aimed at stopping the sprawling racketeering prosecution against him. In one motion, they argue Trump is immune from prosecution, citing presidential immunity & the U.S. Constitution's Supremacy Clause. In a second, argues the form president cannot be tried Georgia for 2020 election crimes because Trump was tried acquitted by the U.S. Senate on the same alleged facts cited in the indictment & the third, they cite due process protections for Trump.
1/8/24 Update: Roman: Attorneys filed a motion claiming DA Willis is involved in an "improper" romantic relationship with Wade working on the case. The filing points to no evidence & relies fully on "sources close to both the special prosecutor & the DA. Based on the new allegations, Roman's legal team is seeking to get his charges dismissed "on the grounds that the entire prosecution is invalid & unconstitutional. They also ask the Judge to disqualify Willis, Wade & the Fulton County DA's office from prosecuting the case.

*Scott Graham Hall - (fake GOP elector tied to Coffee County breach) Plead guilty (9/29/23) & sentenced to 5 years of probation in exchange for testimony moving forward (including at trials of other co-defendants), a $5K fine & 200 hours of community service. Probation becomes non-reporting after 2.5 years, assuming he does not violate his probation during those initial 2.5 years. And will have to write letter of apology to Georgia citizens.
*Sidney Katherine Powell (68) - took a plea deal & plead guilty to 6 counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties & sentenced to 6 years probation, required to testify at future trials, pay at $6K fine & #2,700 in restitution to the State & write an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia & admit her role in the January 2021 breach of election systems in Coffee County.
*Kenneth John Chesebro (61/now 62) – took a plea deal (10/20/23) & plead guilty to Count 15 Conspiracy to commit filing false documents. All other charges dismissed. Sentenced to 5 years probation, $5K restitution fine, 100 hours of community service & an apologize letter to the citizens of Georgia & testify against all other co-conspirators truthfully. Also no communication with media, witnesses & co-defendants, recorded proffer with prosecutors, provide documents & evidence. Resides in Puerto Rico & Judge will see if he can get probation transferred there. As part of his plea deal, Chesebro admitted that he conspired to put forward fake GOP electors in Georgia with Trump & former Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani & John Eastman. Giuliani & Eastman have both pleaded not guilty in the Georgia case & now face the prospect of Chesebro taking the witness stand against them."
*Jenna Lynn Ellis (38/now 39) – Took a plea deal to charge of aiding & abetting false statements & writings. Ellis plead guilty on 10/24/23. Sentenced to 5 years probation, $5K fine, apology letter to the citizens of Georgia, 100 hours of community service & testify truthfully against other co-defendants.
