that they stopped the search in the afternoon to question the mother?? Oh, come on! A search doesn't have to be stopped to question anyone! There's more behind that story than what they're telling us....you can bet on that!

They only have a sheriff and two deputies, so I can see it being called off due to manpower issues.....They don't have the local personnel to handle it. And probably the GBI is there and there just is not enough personnel to not call off the search while they are questioning the mother.

Does anyone know the parent's names? I saw that the kids last names were Kain. It has been several years since I lived there, but I knew almost everyone in that little town. I seem to remember another child with that last name that drowned a few years back.

That gave me the heebie jeebs......interesting. I sure hope that isn't the fate that met these two little ones. I tried to find a news story regarding a drowning, but couldn't find one. Let us know if you remember anything else, or hear anything from old friends who are locals.

I will. I tried to call someone a few minutes ago but no answer. I don't remember there being anything suspicious about the drowning though. I remember it being just a tragic accident.

How do two toddlers go missing? HOW? OMG!!!!! I mean, even other people? How do they not spot two toddlers alone outside? This is horrific.

I really, really hope & pray this mother did not do something to these babies. They are so precious!! Prayers that these little angels will be found safe and sound and that the mom had nothing to do with it. Awful, awful situation. If these parents knew these toddlers could open the door, they should have had it locked or secured in some way.

I don't buy the idea that the reason they halted the search was so they could question the mother, and had to halt the search because the law was tied up with the mother.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation officers questioned the mother. The sheriff and local cops could still have been searching.

If there had really been any reason to do so. The only time other than this I remember a search was called off right away was that horrible couple who beat their daughter to death and then claimed they lost her at a flea market in California last year. I guess the other kids that were with them said she never was on the trip, so they knew not to look.

Two babies, out in the cold - they'd call in all eyes and ears to come help look if there was anything to look for.

In my opinon.

I am not finding any news on this case on TV!!!! I hate Sunday night news....arrgh. Has anyone noticed these kids look completely different???...I just don't see them having them same father, although I haven't seen pics of either parent. They just look totally different!!!

I never took notice of it before, but they really do. As far as news tonight, I had been flipping channels and Fox was doing something on it, but I got tired of tv and turned it off..nothing will happen tonight now..dear God, unless the mother should come up with a confession or so.

I'd better put my Fox News Ticker on the bottom of my screen...I don't use it all the time, but I think I'll do it now.

This just makes me so mad! I hope and pray the mother didn't have anything to do with it. If she didn't, why in the world would you leave a 2 and 3 year old unattended in the living room when you know they can open the door. LOCK THE DOOR for heavens sake!! Put them in a play pen until you can get back. I just don't know what some people are thinking when things like this happen.

I certainly don't blame the grandparents for Couey abducting Jessica, but why in the world don't people check their doors before going to bed? Mr. B and I always check our doors before going to bed.....and we were even more diligent when our children were young and lived at home. It just takes a few extra seconds to be safe.

when my grandchildren were toddlers, my daughter and her husband didn't take any chances. Trust me, these two were not well disciplined, so I did worry about that.

My SIL put a slide bolt (old fashioned type) at the top of the door on each door going outside.

Smart, huh?

Thanks Jovin...I'll check it out. I can always rely on you when the news isn't reporting.....:blowkiss:

Really? I didn't know that. I guess I'm usually awake..and have the tv on..never watch anything but news normally....tonight I just got fed up with the same stuff....and it is Sunday...not the same at all.

The fiance said she went to use the bathroom, something many moms do everyday.....I know I did!!!! :D We did install a latch at the top of the door when my boys were young after they opened the door to solicitors while I was blowing my hair dry......I was horrified!!!!! They were 3 and 1 1/2 at the time and opened the door. This was 9 years ago and thankfully had a dog who was barking like crazy. It freaked me out!!!!!

There is much more to this story.....we will hear about it tomorrow......poor babies......:( I pray they find them safe, but it doesn't feel right....or good.

That is very smart Jovin. Children depend on adults to keep them safe. As I said, it only takes a few minutes to do what it takes to keep your children safe.

When my children were small, we put a door going down to our basement that automatically shut...kinda like a screen door works. We also had a lock installed high on the door. That way no one could forget and leave the door open. You just cannot be too careful when it comes to children.

the tv's back on! I put Larry King on (rerun) it's 12 midnight here.. I can't stand him but the program is on "what happens when you die?"

That subject interests me....

Maybe one looks like the mother, and one looks like the father. ?

I agree that they look very different from each other, but it may be that each favors a different parent. Years ago I knew a woman who was of Irish descent whose husband was from the Philippines. Their eldest son looked like the father--black hair, dark eyes, and darker-complected skin. The youngest was VERY white, had green eyes, and red hair -- looked JUST like mom! The two boys didn't look a thing alike. I felt so sorry for the mother because she was constantly being asked if the oldest boy was adopted. Nobody ever thought she was his mother. LOL!
