He is a dichotomy. Just speculating, but if he was brought up in a fanatically religious home, to the point where anything was considered wrong and dirty, coupled with physical and/or sexual abuse, that might explain why he talks against something, yet participates in that very same thing, in secret.

It's called, in psychodynamic terms, "reaction formation"...much of what we read in his posts will be an example of his mask, reading between the lines reveals the truth :)

Exactly. A reaction formation. Shame and fear of punishment associated with something give rise to anxious feelings and phobias. Anxiety associated with desire will manifest in the appearance of being anti-something. Sometimes there is a correlation between the severity of the anxiety and the measures taken to protest it.

Thanks All! It's starting to make sense.

He's definitely been watching some strange movies here.
I don't watch anything of the sort, so I don't know anything about what he's referring to.
But, his comment about being totally desensitized to gore and torture is troubling.

What a great day it has been on WS today. This place is very educational, and today we got to look into the mind of a serial killer that was stopped after his first kill, thank goodness! I also learned two new terms , Occam's Razor and reaction formation . Good stuff, all!

SMD states he wouldn't be all that interested in eating another person unless it were an extreme emergency.

Yeah, it's not like he'd have said otherwise either way. He tried to come off as the "civilized, educated, yet rebellious intellectual'' there not the rabid dog he appears to truly be deep inside.

Appears to be offering his "services" (advice) for anyone who needs help covering up a murder. A little hard to follow the thread, but...
Then, goes into talking about using something like chloroform on someone to subdue them,
then how to strangle them in a way not to kill, but to torture.
Not sure he's talking about "real life" here or some game/movie plot.... but still.

I had wondered, what was in McDaniel's mind, what was he thinking of, in the days and hours leading up to when he murdered Lauren?

I now know: how to prove that Obama's birth certificate is fake.

Petty, stupid monster.

He is talking about some plot, because in the end he mentions what the "hero" is supposed to do to destroy his psyche after hearing the woman being tortured.
He put a lot of thought into how to subdue a woman, that's for sure.

For what it is worth, my nerd husband is making me watch the X-Files on Netfilx and we just watched an episode where a Government Official knew too much about the Government's attempt to conceal Alien lifeform or Cloning (I don't freaking know) so they plant Child *advertiser censored* on his computer to get him arrested and silenced. Hmmmm.

....just trying to lighten the mood....but there really is an episode like that.

AND I sound like someone on Operatorchan.

Well, the details in the warrants varied - some said pre-pubescent and some said under 18. I got sickened reading them, honestly and couldn't go through all 7. I would think pre-pubescent would mean anything under 11 or 12. I just can't fathom the sickness behind that..this just gets stranger and stranger.

Just my opinion, but I think his murder of Lauren was much more than being caught doing something (snooping, burglarizing, using computer) and having to kill her out of convenience/impulse bc he was caught. I know lots of people have speculated that, but I just can't see it.

I think it was a very sinister crime and as the details unfold, much worse is being revealed.

I felt sorry for his mother in the beginning..her sadness broke my heart. But through her media statements, and the fact that she told those 4 children about Lauren's murder - with details - I can only hope that those children are in a safe environment. No child should be told about a murder by their uncle/brother and that the body was "in pieces." And in that same article it detailed one of the children saying stuff about Satan, etc..very extreme religious beliefs from children.

My thoughts are always with Lauren's family, but tonight are with those 4 little children, with a hope that nothing sinister has occurred to them and that they are raised in a healthy way.

Under 18 and 12 yrs of age is quite different than 6yrs old, that's not very clear then. Anything nonconsensual is NOT ok and crimes against any child is not ok but this **** is confusing. How the hell do you charge someone for watching if it was all consensual, do they know who/where/what was going on? *advertiser censored* is *advertiser censored*, how do you look at a kid and know if they are 18 or 14. Sexual exploitation is quite different. God knows probably a 1/3 of the prepubescent (or under18) kids are having sex these days. So that would take us off topic. What people are stating on here are facts but the fact is, we dont' know all the facts of the LE. It's all damn speculation. Maybe when it's all over someone on here will win a whole <modsnip> of money for their speculation. :woohoo: I won't say what I would or would not do in her situation and I'm sure they would hear it from the public so who knows. I agree it's grotesque and seems insensitive. I feel for the mother still, until there is something proven untowards, she may not think like us, but that doesnt' make her a criminal. It's ashame IF there is something untowards going on in that household. THis investigation will draw it out. Sometimes kids just turn out psycho and it can be lessened or intensified by parenting methods. Sorry.........we need that manual for life so we can all be exactly the same. Even if we have morals, it doesnt' mean we will all do things the same and everything right so that eveyrone turns out like you or I would like. I mean we can disagree but don't be hatin'. I'm speaking in regards to parenting methods not crime. I'll be glad when all this ends because I cant tear myself away from this case.

Scanning all these posts.... :headache: :hypno:

All the while thinking... this guy wanted to be a lawyer? and a supreme court justice? :floorlaugh:

Prepubescent indicates they have not reached puberty yet. That would rule out teens. It would most likely indicate 12 or under.

I am behind on all the reading here. I have to get to work now. If it is slow enough, I will try to access the links. May be blocked at work.

It sounds like this is more of what I have been looking for in his history. Can't wait to explore it. Has it been verified it is definitely McD? I have seen the SoL name used by various other people all over the place. I didn't know what it stood for, but it is not a rare name for online posting.

...AND after reading these posts, I am thinking Mama was right: The 2 liter bottles filled with tap water were in prep for a terrorist attack and not because Macon's water supply is shotty. :drink:

Poster is a law student who lives in Macon, has a sister with a substance abuse problem, and scratched himself around the time LG went missing, and more. I don't think there's any question it's him.

All I can say is wow! Macon Mom!

It is definitely him. The picture he posted on the website with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas with his face blanked out but with SoL written over it matches the one posted earlier on Macon.com that does not have his face blanked out .

I have nothing productive to add to the conversation, minus that I'm absolutely sickened by his posts. He makes my skin crawl. I am creeped out that I walked the same halls every day with this soulless creep.

Also, SM and the other friends had just spent the morning being interviewed before SM gave that interview. Patternson was most like the lead detective. He and his car would have been quite familiar, as he probably escorted them to the dept for this questioning. For all we know, SM may have rode in his car that morning.

Thanks SS! ITA and I'd be willing to even bet that at the very least that is exactly who Stephen had spent the better part of that very morning of the 30th with in those couple hours{or atleast part of those couple hours} of interviews.. Just in reading that warrant for the second time early this morning those 2 details [Detective Patterson and June 30th] stood out to me and the little light bulb buzzed lit  about his speaking about Detective Patterson on the 30th of June in his on cam interview with Michelle Quesada..

Another detail I have thought of a couple times but have never even attempted to inquire about was the photo taken from that day of Stephen and a detective walking upstairs to Stephen's apt..some people having thought it possible, but not certain if maybe even the detective was guiding him or aiding him in some way toward his apt.. The few times I have come across that particular photo I have wondered was that possibly Detective Patterson that is pictured with Stephen making their way to Stephen's upstairs apt on June 30th?? ..Has no significant meaning whatsoever just something I personally have pondered a couple times..FWIW :)
