OMG, a case from January 2019 was ruled murder/suicide, but now is being reinvestigated!

I had the tv on Dr. Oz. They were going over the Nichol Olsen and her two daughters Texas case. It has been reopened, I guess, and the FBI called in to help because it didn't really seem like a murder/suicide.

They don't call me curious for nothing. I wonder -- Did she wear that ring that looks like a thick wedding band on her "married finger" because she didn't accept being divorced? Was it to ward men off from hitting on her? (see ring in pic of her wearing sunglasses)

The funeral for Marsha, Christopher, and Erin Edwards is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 28 at Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
There will be no public viewing.

The funeral service for Erin, Christopher, and Marsha will be in the morning today. I imagine it will be hard on all attending. Prayers and more prayers.

Suicide leaves a path of destruction for generations to come. It branches out from the original root of origin much like a growing tree. It damages those near and far, forever altering the leaves that grow from that root each season. IME and JMO.

I totally agree and you have written it and explained it so succinctly yet beautifully if that could ever be used as such an adjective when discussing the subject x

I know you are a strong advocate for victims and that is all I ever see from you along with respect and understanding and compassion.
And maybe you are right but for me there are unanswered questions lingering at the moment and in the previous case that I mentioned of alleged murder suicide of the Sherman family in Canada that two weeks later was changed to a double murder, they were even more prominent than these people involved in this case as he was the boss of the largest pharmaceutical company in Canada with a $billion turnover and valued Justin Trudeau the PM amongst his friends so I don’t think it matters too much about prominence. Anyway only time will tell and I just ask that justice is served no matter what for those beautiful lives lost . God bless x

I am aware of the case you mentioned, and personally I never thought for one second that couple's death was a murder/suicide.

I'm glad to see the FBI is involved with this particular case. I believe this family was also as prominently known in this area as the Candadian couple were in their area.

Even though I believe the FBI will come to the same decision/determination, imoo, I do know it may put some minds at rest one way or the other. Which is always a good thing for everyone.

Nothing has been confirmed as far as I know, but I thought I read that when son didn't show up for work they called the father who then requested a welfare check being worried, but police would not confirm that.

No idea when they divorced (saw rumors only). No idea also if the ex husband or Marsha were involved with someone else. She was, after all, an attractive woman and only 58. I guess we all want to know if this connects to the divorce and some sort of revenge. It seems there's a limit on info especially about the timing of their divorce. Has anyone here run across more info?

I don't know how she could even think of ending the lives of her children.

Pics of the gated townhouses. No one heard the shots? They must be built with strong sound proofing.

Thank You for finding it. Uncontested. Seven years ago, Erin was only 13 and Chris Jr. 17. I would imagine agreements were made perhaps that the father would continue financial help for the children and maybe even alimony to the spouse for a number of years. Some people never get over their divorce, but I don't know if this was the case. Sorry to say it points to that more because taking the children from him would hurt the most. Unfortunately, he wasn't the only one hurt and scarred by the decision. The ripple effect of the sorrow created spreads far and wide.

Oh boy, sorry but, I don't know how old that Dr. Oz show was or how much new info the FBI came up with since they were brought in way back in Jan. or Feb. I can't find any new facts online, so I'm not sure WS will want to reopen the thread. I know it was a very disturbing determination that it was murder/suicide and very hard to accept. That might have been an old Dr. Oz show because I don't think they revealed what the FBI determined once they were brought in.

I’m curious to those who are more familiar with these types of cases... does LE ever lie or intentionally mislead the public to potentially catch someone? I just found it odd how quickly they announced it a murder-suicide.

As others have said, I find this case EXTREMELY hard to stomach and comprehend. The only thing I could come up with in my mind to explain what happened was the mother found out the children did something horrible so she chose to end their lives and then end her own? I really am not sure. I can understand the points others are making, but still find any possibility hard to believe, especially seeing ME divorce was in 2012.

Something else that I found strange that others touched on is that they set up a memorial fund for ME. What I found even stranger was they had her picture at the memorial service, right in the center, almost treating her as a victim. In other cases of familicide, is it normal to celebrate the life and mourn the death of all involved, including the suspected killer? I mean, I get she was their mother, but I can’t imagine what her sons and daughters GF, friends, etc. would feel like going to their service and seeing their alleged murderer smiling at them front and center... again, it is just very odd.

Yes, exactly! Which in itself makes me think that either they know something else and don’t view her as a suspect, or she had a history of serious mental health issues (which does not seem to be the case).
