Found Deceased GA - Nancy 'Renee' Eldridge, 25, Columbus, 4 July 2015 *Arrest*

And, Stacey Demar Gray is not the individual who Edridge accused of raping her in December 2014, who spent 2.5 months in jail until he was excluded by DNA evidence, who the family told WRBL news they believed he was the one who abducted her, and who was followed on Sunday when he made a statement to police on the 5th of July. When they catch Gray, I hope CPD runs Gray's DNA against the semen that was found in Eldridge's rape kit from December 2014.

Been following along reading and looking for updates. What is the back story of the guy who was falsely accused and then brought up again in her disappearance? Does the family know him? Bad blood between them? Thanks for your informative posts.

Wonder if his brother will end up being arrested as well.....

I don't think the family knows him, but they went to his house on the 4th while he was at work and told his neighbors that he was a rapist. Then, on the 5th of July, a white truck began following him, and he in his vehicle and his attorney in his vehicle driving lead ran about 4 stoplights in downtown Columbus to get to the police station to cooperate and make a statement, so they could clear him and focus their attention on who might have taken her, as she was merely missing at that point in time. CPD cleared him and let him go, but still the family told Cassandra Webb from WRBL that she had been raped back in December and they thought the same man who was arrested was responsible for her disappearance. WRBL did not print his name, but I know that his name has gone up on the neighborhood watchers Facebook page a few times and some people close to the case were private messaging his name. It's been a stressful week, but with this arrest, hopefully, Gray's DNA will match the semen from December '14, and CPD will finally drop this innocent guy as a subject of their investigation.

I honestly didn't check to make sure it was the same guy on FB, they looked very much alike though. Sounds like this wouldn't be their first rodeo.

I just tried to look at his FB page and it seems to be taken down?? I guess it was his.

Unless it's just me who can't see it anymore??

His family deleted it. It was his Facebook. He had several of his actual family members listed under the family section

Thank You! I understand the familys' desperation but there could have been dire consequences if the young man had been hurt or killed. If DNA doesn't clear someone, what does? Hoping for answers for everyone.

I'm sure they have no interest in the Audi guy. I'm glad his name was not made public since he is indeed innocent. The family was not trying to hurt or harrass him they just wanted Renee home safely. Sometimes people get things wrong, especially in high stress situations. Also yes that is his Facebook, his family has now deleted it.

How do you know they have no interest in him? Are you speculating or have you heard that from them? Do you know the connection between Renee and Stacey Gray? The reports say the mom knew him, but had Renee ever met him? Because Renee was adamant that it was Audi guy, even when confronted with irrefutable DNA evidence. Did Renee ever date Stacey Gray?

So, this article states that Stacey Gray was at Acers Grill, formerly known as Lil' Kim's Cove, on July 3, 2015, which is the same place Renee Eldridge was before friends dropped her off at her house at 3 a.m., and Stacey Gray had been to the house before and knew Renee and her mom.

Guess where Renee Eldridge was on the evening of 19 December 2014, which is the night that she was reported that she was raped by Audi guy? Lil' Kim's Cove. I really hope CPD sends Gray's DNA to GBI and compares his DNA to the DNA taken from the semen on December 20, 2014.

Also, from the reading of the evidence that they have: blood in vehicle, witnesses from bridge, Gray running, piece of a purse in a burn barrel at house, surveillance video of his vehicle in the neighborhood, hair at her home, an alibi from a statement he made that was contradicted by cell phone evidence, then I would say that Valley PD has a pretty strong case. Of course, the question is, where was she murdered? In Georgia, then the body was taken to Alabama, or was taken alive from Georgia to Alabama where she was killed? It could be an issue for the murder case. The prosecutor is going to have to show where she died in order to establish jurisdiction for a murder. If she was killed in Georgia, then Valley prosecutors could still get him convicted of a slew of other charges. But, the timing and place of the murder is going to be an issue.

From the above link:
Renee was last seen by friends at her house the morning of July 4th after her sister says she went to hang out at Acer’s Grill & Bar, where she worked for a few months. Renee’s former co-worker and family friend, Vincent Jones, says Gray was at the bar the night Renee went missing and had also been to Renee’s house where she lives with her mother, Nancy

BBM -
Does this mean that Gray was at Renee's house with the other friends after they went to the bar that night or that Gray had been to the house previously? It sounds like they all went back to Renee's house after they went to the bar. IMO

I take it that Gray had previously been to the house other than that night, so he knew where she lived. In that case, he would know the mother's vehicle if she had one and would also know that if the vehicle wasn't there, then mom probably wasn't at home. Mom wasn't at home the night that Renee was assaulted in December 2014, either, so I would have guessed that both crimes involved someone who knew she was alone.

I was just coming to post this!!! Seriously why is this guy walking free?

snipped from article:
Gray was convicted by a jury and entered the Ohio prison system in January 1994. He spent nine years in prison before he was paroled in February 2003. He was released from his parole restrictions in 2004.

We have reached out to the Youngstown Police Chief to see if he can remember any more details about the case.

In Muscogee County, Gray has plead guilty to misdemeanor cruelty to children, simple battery and driving with a suspended license. He was also cited for driving without a license and ordered to pay child support.

Just curious - how can cruelty to children be a misdemeanor?

Wow!!! And he's not currently in prison for this? Smh

Cats, if Gray's DNA was in CODIS from his felony in Ohio after he got out of prison in 2003, then CPD or GBI could have sent the DNA profile to the FBI taken from the semen from her rape kit in March 2015. The FBI would have sent back the results back within a couple of months. Does anybody know if CPD or GBI sent the profile to CODIS to do a search? And, if they didn't and Gray's profile is actually in CODIS, then the cops could have prevented the murder. Instead, they kept Audi guy who they arrested in December 2014 as a subject of their investigation. In fact, he still is a subject of the investigation as far as I know to this day. This is why you listen to the victim, but you verify the story. These investigators sound like the CID investigators at Ft. Benning who take a vic's statement and don't ask any tough questions. I have heard reports that some pretty important people are huddling up down at the Columbus Government Center regarding this issue.
