The Dermond's boat lift.
Two different places. The Dermond's dock still has crime scene tape across the water. It is so fast I'm not sure I can grab it.

the video showed them lowering the boat on the lift

That may be for a very good reason. PERHAPS Telling perp we know the "how" now ... don't think we're gonna stop... we'll get ya!

But lordy how awful! I'm so upset I really hope that isn't what happened, but Sills made pretty likely IMO.

do you have the link for that where Sills mentions the dock?

Well, it's an awful way to go ! God I hope not but I'm leaning towards that if Sills mentioned finding something on the dock

GOOD Thinking GS!

sadly :frown:

That's a good point. They may even have those deely whackers that has the pills broken down into days and times to take them. My mom had one to help her remember what to take at time intervals.

Two observations, they probably don't mean anything. The steps do not have a railing. Looks to me like there is an empty large flower pot on one of the steps.

From the prospective of this aging gardener with a hip replacement. I don't like the looks of that, and we all know how slippery it is to walk on pinestraw going down hill...and I am in my late 60s, not 80s.

I am thinking they don't even go down to the dock at all.

I can't quote because it was spoken not written.

At the beginning of the segment. Before you see the boat being lowered.

Mark Winne says they were (just feet from the dock where investigators found some potentially useful evidence. )

Maybe not those exact words... but.he did not say house he said dock.
They both seemed to dance around other evidence recovered.

Mark Winne ch 2 news

"Just feet from the dermonds dock where apparently investigators recovered some potentially useful evidence over the past several weeks"

reporter also said ONE OF THE CRIME SCENES which is different than reading he may have been murdered elsewhere, that could mean the yard as opposed to the garage

You really have to listen to the videos in addition to reading the reports, news is reported slightly different

Not sure if it's the verbiage used by the reporters when speaking as opposed to writing it, becuase this part I just posted wasn't in the article

Most all folks I know atthelake have mules...or golfcarts... to get to water depending on the incline ...we hate walking up hills at our age :floorlaugh: .. For folks that don't know terminology ..a mule is a sturdy golf cart type vehicle that can do more of an incline .

Those are some good possibilities. Fingernails are often the source of tissue from a suspect, but not the only one. This killer wasn't averse to dismembering a victim. If Mr of Mrs. D scratched him, why didn't he remove the hands. That's assuming the tissue samples belong to the killer.

The article refers to "hundreds of fingerprints and hair and tissue samples". If the tissue samples belong to the perp, then do the fingerprints and hair samples, too? How do we know? And if so, doesn't that contradict the other facts we know about the crime? In other words, if the killer was as careful to cover his tracks as it seems, would he leave behind fingerprints?

Ach! Each question leads to ten more. Here's hoping for answers very soon!

BBM that's just what I was thinking. This killer would do something like that because he/she/they is/are evil. Could they have made a mistake and now they will be caught?

For some reason 'follow the money' keeps popping up in my head.

Speaking of the elderly losing large sums of money I think sometimes they do.

Look at what Bernie Madoff did to lots of smart people.

I had a friend, the wife of a deceased attorney, that had tons of money. She hopped herself over to the casino's every week with at least $500 playing money.

She was in the early stages of alzheimers ... sigh.

Had another friend that was seeing a man whose ex wife had used up all of their savings gambling and he knew nothing until it was all gone.

So just because somebody is old doesn't mean they can't make mistakes and lose lots of $$$!

I just don't know why I never thought about it before. This was from early on like May 8-9th.
Could that decapitate someone? I can't tell if cables or hydraulic... I don't know anything about them.

It looks to be mounted from above so cable pulleys?

Reporter: “Was at the scene just a little while ago where we were on the Putnam’s County Sheriff’s office boat, just feet from the dock where investigators recovered some potential useful evidence over the past several weeks.”
Sills” We have fingerprints, we’ve got hair, we’ve got fibers; all matter of forensic matter from the house”
Reporter: “and you have other things that you can’t talk about, and they are potentially the most significant”
Sills: “I think so”

Ok, I dont' know how that works but it's not cable lift, roof not sturdy, the poles are just to support the frame that holds the fabric

back to square one, if no cables!

Also where there is an incline, carting items for the boat gets pretty darn tiresome quickly!

The thing that catches my eye from these pictures is there are no handrails on the steps. It appears the walk just stops at the steps and lacks a wider area to turn the golf cart around. Truthfully, it looks a bit dangerous IMO.

They were late 60's when they moved here, so a railing by the steps seems like it would have been a necessity. Perhaps there was one which rotted so it was taken down and not replaced as the Dermonds no longer used the dock. Now why the couch is still there, it is anyone's guess. :dunno:
