Viola Findley

Positives:
* Height: VF: 5'6" --- UID: 5'6"-5'10"
* Distance: Violet could've travelled through Fulton on her way from FL to IA
* Timeline: VF LKA: Sep'83 --- UID's Discovery: Mar'92 (NAMUS suggests PMI of years)
* Resemblance to reconstruction: Strong
* VF had three children (mother's ring)
* Age: VF: 29 --- UID: 16 - 30 (although admittedly a bit on the high side)

Negatives:

* Dental: VF had a broken front tooth, UID front teeth missing PM

That looks like a very good possibility. Nice work!

I'd also say the dental is not a negative. If Viola had missing teeth and the UID's was chipped, that would be a problem, but the teeth missing postmortem make it an unknown, not a no-match. If that makes sense.

:eek:fftopic:

Viola's NamUs casefile indicates that she is being comared to a 1993 Flagler county Jane Doe. This appears to be the one they are referring to:

http://doenetwork.org/cases/384uffl.html

The big discrepancy is the 10 year timeframe compared to a 2-year postmortem interval. But the height and age are right, as are their basic facial shapes.

I think Viola is a closer match to Georgia Jane, just because of the height and admixture on the FL Jane.

Was hoping Tami was still around to give Viola a look.

kpdx pointed me to another photo of Viola Findley that was posted in Ancestry.

The photo was cut out from its background, and there were a lot of nicks and dirt specks. So I retouched out all of that, and put in a blue backdrop.

This is a high school portrait, side-by-side with the Jane Doe recon. It doesn't indicate the date of the photo or which grade it was.

Here's her DoeNet casefile.

http://doenetwork.org/cases/2902dffl.html

There's no mention that she had a gap between her 8 & 9. It says in the DoeNet file (but not mentioned in NamUs) that she had a broken front tooth, but there's no way to know how much of the tooth was broken.

There's a Facebook page for a young lady named Cassandra Lalonde who went missing in 1988. Her cousin is searching for her. Not a lot of info is known and it's possible she was never reported missing. I was searching through NAMUS and found this UID. What do you guys think?

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Finding-Cassandra-Candy-Ann-Lalonde/424153051017881

Her mother is dead but she has living siblings. I do not know if she has dentals available. It might be an impossible case with so little info :/

Wow! That is a strong resemblance. It mentions on the Facebook page that she was supposedly heading to Mobile from Buras, LA. I made a Google map to plot the three points -Buras, LA (where she left from), to Mobile, Alabama (where she was supposedly going too) and Fulton City, GA (where the UID was found).

I definitely think you should submit this.

It's really unfortunate that there isn't more information on Cassandra.

That's certainly worth following up on.

I just came across this Doe while looking for Viola. I'm so happy to see others thought so too. Was she ruled out?

:eek:fftopic: reply to CarlK's off-topic post before. :)

Viola's sister posted on her Missing Person thread that she was ruled out for the 1993 Flagler County Jane Doe.

There are a lot of rule outs for her on here.This Jane Doe has bothered me and made me sad.I see the mothers ring and I feel it was hers and she had 3 or 4 young children.I pray they find out who she is soon.

This woman, who was just added to NamUs, should probably be checked against the Union City Jane Doe:

Lorrene Reynolds
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/27775/0

The overall resemblance is not that close, but the facial dimensions are actually pretty similar.

She is listed as Caucasian, but she appears to be possibly of mixed race. The Jane Doe is judged to be purely caucasian.

But the particulars are pretty much inline.
Her height (5'9" to 5'10"), is about right. The Jane Doe was estimated to be between 5'6" to 5'10"
Her age (28-29) is within range (Jane Doe was between 16 and 30)
The loc LKA (Columbus GA) is about 100 miles from Union City.
The timeframe from Date LKA to Date of Discovery is about 7 years. The Jane Doe's PM interval is estimated to be "Several years".

Lorrene Reynolds could be a possibility; unfortunately there is almost no information about her circumstances. NAMUS does also list the info for her vehicle description, so that of course usually points toward an accident, and the person is generally found with their car if at all. But you should definitely send it in as someone for them to check out. Columbus and Union City are only a little over 90 miles apart so I could see it happening.

Just came here to suggest Lorrene and see that Carl beat me to it! Carl, have you submitted Lorrene as a match?

So sad that Lorrene's date of birth is unknown. How is that possible? I wonder who finally reported her as missing? I looked for her birth date in ancestry website and can't find anything in there either.

Has anyone suggested Twyla Mickey (sometimes listed as Wallace)? It's believed her boyfriend at the time was involved with her disappearance, along with that of several other women with whom he was romantically involved. She was last seen in Doraville (some sources say Marietta), which is 30 miles straight up I-85 from Union City, in 1989, and is listed at 67" to our UID's 68". She does not have 4 children, though, just one son, although her boyfriend's deceased ex-wife had two biological and two stepchildren--maybe a gruesome hand-me-down? She was living with him and his children at the time of her disappearance.
