VAPOR - Correction, Marty Tankleff has never been exonerated !!!

Wow.. so he got out of jail on a wrongful conviction, but is still considered a suspect? Even though he won a settlement with the state.. this is so bizarre. I gotta read that book.

1000% TRUE. FYI in many States you can be completely exonerated and will NOT receive compensation unless they want to throw you a few bucks. In NYS it can be difficult/impossible to receive compensation unless you are EXONERATED. So far Marty T got $3.375M from NYS and is suing for more in a federal lawsuit.

Before the appeal was filed that eventually led to MT's release MT's lawyer BB told several hundred supporters that this case would NEVER go to trial because Suffolk/Spota couldn't stand the stink. Which brings this to another level: A then NYS AG that is now our governor and is being considered to be a candidate for POTUS/2020 election.

Vapor, if you get the chance read "A Criminal Injustice: A True Crime, a False Confession, and the Fight to Free Marty Tankleff"
by Richard Firstman and Jay Salpeter. Hawk suggested it to me and I read it. You will pull your hair out. There is so much corruption! A really good read of a horrific wrong. You will see many names come up in the LISK case as well.

Rick Firstman, once a Newsday reporter wrote two columns in 1985 regarding the 'mis-adventures' of a Harry Feingold and his family. Those columns are more specific to this topic on this topic: LISK

Thanks hawk.. ill definitely read up on this. I wonder if there is bad blood with cuomo and spota or was this just theater by cuomo to try and keep the feds out. I tend to believe that if cuomo were to get elected in 2020 he wouldnt let the justice dept loose on all this corruption because it may just come back to him, but who knows what the true political motives are here.. especially when big wigs with connections to both sides of the aisle could be implicated.

Isn't this the same crew that years back immediately dismissed as a suspect the business partner, who was the last to see the victim, who owed him 500K, who faked his death, changed his identity and moved to California?

This killer got his kicks on getting to know his victims. On smooth talking them into letting their guards completely down.

If LISK used this method, then the cell phones would've been on the girls at the places he picked them up. They wouldn't have left them behind.

Just checking to see if the Board is still working.

Does anyone know why there will not be another Killing Season? I was looking forward to another one.

Exactly. And LE would know how the girls traveled to LI. CELL PHONE TOWERS. And LE would know what area of Queens MBB disappeared from.

Do watch ID Discovery Channel. 10PM Monday. It will be about the Tankleff story.

Yes, thanks for the reminder about the Tankleff ID Discovery show, Hawkshaw. Another case the SCPD messed up.

Everything comes down to money deedee21. If A&E did not have the viewers, ratings, etc. A&E's main focus is on selling advertisement they would not renew it. End of story. I enjoyed it, but I think they missed the mark going off to other areas of the country with other serial killing theories. Although I know the point they were trying to make about serial killers, they lost viewers by skipping all over the place, JMO they should have dedicated the first series to the Long Island murders. The next one to the Atlantic City murders, then the Mesa murders, , etc etc. I also think by profiling Long Island in one series as well as each area to follow in other series, they would have gotten dozens of tips to solve the crimes as well. Just think if they viewed the Peaches story and the Cherries story how many tips may have been called in. The same with detailing the Atlantic City murders and so on.

Messed up does not begin to describe it. This was a calculated and diabolical effect to put an innocent teenager in prison for a crime he did not commit.IMO.

Bingo. I watched the first episode and then...not so much.

Thanks hawk!

I was happy to see it's available for those of us who missed it Mon evening:

https://www.investigationdiscovery..../full-episodes/confessions-of-an-innocent-man

This documentary was excellent! No doubt Marty is innocent! Nice touch on the end there showing burkes perp walk as some progress into breaking down this suffolk county mafia. Still alot of work to be done though. All these crooked/corrupt and souless frauds need to be brought to justice for willingly participating in conspiracys and cover ups to achieve their criminal agenda. That doc sure gets your blood flowing. If the state and feds are aware of all the SC corruption, then what the heck are they waiting for to clean house.. how spota and his minions are still in power is ridiculous.

The curtain is going to come down sure enough on Spota and friends. When the Fed wrecking ball starts swinging there is only one outcome. Just remember at jimmyboys plea agreement wherein he started speaking french " Oui did this and Oui did that.
