I think, given the display case, this one is more likely to be a standard porcelain doll.

My memory of the weird creepiness that was Time Out dolls was that they tended to be displayed freestanding in a room against a wall.

The child

Oh goodness the child sized doll!? Remember when someone anonymously left the Time Out dolls at the memorial sites for the victims?! Shannan’s mother was so upset and suspicious of it!

I was just wondering yesterday if they would find Time Out dolls in his home!!!

ETA: they were called “TIME OUT DOLLS”

I would leave a hyperlink for the dolls, but unfortunately am on Mexican internet.

I tried to look this up but it just left me confused. Can someone explain what a time out doll is?

Maybe there's something about the doll's posture or position that led to the antique doll case being removed from the house? Luminol --> blood on the doll case?

It's a small child sized doll that's displayed positioned against a wall, with its back towards the room, like a naughty child standing in the corner. Because of the way they're displayed, most were made without facial features, so it gives them a somewhat sinister vibe.

It's those dolls women crafted in the 80's made out of toddlers clothing stuffed. Usually had a hat on. They put them in a corner of a room or up against a flat wall to make it look like they kids were in time out.

Is Rex Heuermann also responsible for the Manorville murders but, as a designer, he switched it up?

Maybe he started by being safe and leaving bodies farther away from home? The typical reason for removing hands is to delay identification of the body. He removed the hands and found a new place to hide bodies while searching for a closer-to-home place to hide the hands? In 2000, the body was found in Manorville. In 2010 the hands were found near other bodies.

Did he decide that camouflage burlap in the poison ivy on the beach would eliminate the need to cut off hands, so as a designer he modified his technique for murdering escorts? Is he a serial killer who dumped bodies closer to home over time?
Ramble incoming...

So far we know for sure that RH killed in 2007, 2009, and 2010. Jessica Taylor (torso found in Manorville) went missing in 2003. Totally possible he changed things up. We've had quite a few serial killers on the Island in the past 30 years. Rifkin, Shulman, Bittroff... so I wouldn't be surprised if theres more. Rifkin was caught down the street from me back in 1993. Shulman was caught in 1996. Bittroff in 2014. I bet Heuermann paid attention. Maybe he got some pointers.

He called himself the problem solver in that interview with BonJour Realty on Youtube. Detail orientated. Well, he sure left it up to a wish and a prayer that covering the Gilgo 4 with some camo burlap and putting them on a barrier island was enough to keep him a free man. The more I think about it, I think he was absolute poop at planning and details. It turns out the ONLY reason he didn't get caught was because Gilgo Beach was that much of a remote of a place and the police out here bungled it up so bad by being so damn corrupt. RH disposed of the Gilgo 4 right over the county line in Suffolk county - he lives on the Nassau side. Nassau PD and Suffolk PD have had rivalry issues before. Anyway, there are hairs all over the victims and he was using the victims phones allowing them to ping off the cell tower right next to his darn house. I bet he did keep souvenirs he's that stupid. He left what might actually be his fathers belt with one of the victims. What a lucky idiot.

My thoughts on the doll, from what I could see, which admittedly wasn't much.

It's been reported that his wife is of Icelandic heritage. A majority of people in Iceland have blonde hair and blue eyes.

Which makes me think it might be a doll his wife had in childhood, or maybe it belonged to an ancestor and was handed down to her. From what I could see, the doll looked in pretty pristine condition--as in not played with very much--so it seems to me that the ornate case it was housed in suggests that it was a treasured possession.

All that being said, why it would have been seized in the search baffles me.

I can't wait until the search warrant affidavit, or whatever it is called in NY, is unsealed, which you know the press is filing lawsuits in favor of releasing even as we speak.

could have been used in an attempt to lure some child at some stage..
could have been visible in a background photo or film he might have taken of his crimes, he probably knew the value of snuff movies, not a new phenomenon or may have tried trading them..
I'm only speculating.

Helluva God-complex, that's for sure.
Entitlement and arrogance.

On thing that sleuths could IMO re-focus on, is possible identifications of the still-unidentified victims. It will hopefully come down to genetic genealogy in the end and they will have their names back anyways. But it would still be useful to look at their profiles once more and re-scan for possible clues or matches - I'm sure the police will be all over it, too, but atm it is possible they prioritize their resources towards convictions in the cases of the 3-4 victims they have most damning evidence on. They might or might not have the same killer - but finding out who they are will also help with identifying their killer.

Fire Island Jane Doe - estimated death 1996 (Namus)
Peaches - death in 1997 (Namus) and her toddler (Namus)*
Gilgo Beach Asian Doe - estimated death 2000-2007 (Namus)
Cherries - death in 2007 (Namus)
Nassau county Jane doe - found January 2013, death time unknown(?) (Namus)

* The FBI has publicly asked for relatives of an Alabama man named Elijah "Lige" Howell or Howard (1927-1963) to come forward as they may recognize this victim and her child. Lige lived with his wife Carrie in Prichard, Alabama

what is the significance of Howell? is he a suspected serial killer too?

Interesting. I see one next to the toolbox on the tarp, one on the step (possibly waiting to be used) and then a stack of them.
I edited to say three, but you replied to the unedited one fast. lol (Me- old eyes.) You're right that is a stack of them, so two markers and a stack of them. Can you tell what the non-toolbox marker is marking?

I wonder if the cat pole was seized because LE thought victims' hairs might be found on it.

Admittedly it's been a long time between the murders and now, but going by the ramshackle nature of the house, maybe the cat pole has been there since 2007.

I recently visited a relative whose house, sad to say, has not been updated since it was built in ... maybe...1972 at the latest.

NOTHING has changed. Avocado green shag carpet, avocado kitchen appliances, avocado kitchen formica. Wood paneling on the walls.

So it wouldn't surprise me to learn that the cat pole has been there for a long time.

JMO.

Thank you!

Her body was found near Peter Hackett's house. I mistakenly thought it was near the client's house. Her jacket? It was found but was not preserved because she was not officially missing?

Was her jacket found between Brewer's house and Hackett's house? Was it found when her mother was searching the area, or in the marsh? Did she have her jacket with her when she went into the marsh?

Since it's not on the tarp I wonder if its just unused at the moment or perhaps it was just used before the one on the tarp. No idea.

Yes, they lived there. Neighbors have stated seeing the step-son and wife around. RH has also stated it himself in court-

"In his April 2018 deposition in one of the cases, Heuermann discussed his life and work, saying that he lived at his childhood home in the Long Island suburb of Massapequa Park with his wife of then 22 years, daughter and stepson." link

I also have direct knowledge of persons going to the house to work with the special needs son. But, that is just from me personally, so you can call that hearsay if you must.

did they tell you it was a filthy dump inside?

The toolbox is evidence, so the marker is the toolbox.
Doesn't look like tools in the toolbox.

Not only this. The first symptom of someone who was in remission relapsing would be sudden lack of money. There are lots of addictions, and sex or gambling are just the two of many.

BTW, he doesn’t look like a typical gambler, but it is interesting to find out if he did frequent casinos.

what does a 'typical gambler' look like?
