This is a long shot but I live in Florida and I have been following the Gilgo case but a few years back on I95 we a a string of murder ppl on the side of the road starting in Port Saint Lucie all the way to vero beach do you think this could be connected to Gilgo

Again, and, MOO, but, this man was so comfortable in his family home and neighborhood for decades. I could see him out at odd hours visiting his “trophies”/victims. Many marriages are estranged yet living together. His wife could’ve cared less what he was doing and when. If he happened to be out there when Shannan was running around there, making noise, dressed up, dead of night… I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was involved….dead of night…home turf…

Agree. And once he knows all the evidence against him, once the legal maneuvering is over, he'll want to brag about his numbers, want to impress everyone and to relive his glory moments with anyone who will listen.
My vibe is he’ll go down crying like a baby, protesting his innocence til the bitter end. He is living a split life. Won’t be able to face his fam.

Apparently, according to some co-workers or clients, he had already been trying to discuss the case. At the time, they had thought he was just trying to make interesting conversation because he lived so close in the area. Later, They realized what he was doing. I think he'll want to claim credit and re-live his memories.

Rex Huermann was president of his own Architectural firm and has managed to fool co-workers and family for at least the past 15 years. Disappearing out of town for extended periods of time might have tipped people off. It's always a possibility he had jobs out of town but as of right now I am only seeing an active license to practice in NYS but that doesn't mean he didn't have out of state licenses in the past. As of right now, based off of what we know so far, it doesn't seem likely. That said, who knows... ya know?

Perhaps! It will be interesting to see what he does. I think he’s super psychologically conflicted. He really could go either or any way. Manipulators tend to go whichever way they believe will suit them.

“I just thought he was an architect who thought he was like God’s gift to this world, but no, he’s literally a serial killer,” Vidal said

There's been talk on the old WS threads about possible LISK connections to FL and NJ. I really don't know. My gut feeling is that RH isn't involved in any FL murders but then again... nothing would surprise me.

Murdered or accidental death of SG has been hotly debated by many WS members over the years. So I understand your thinking.

Her purse was found in one spot, her phone in another, her lip gloss, her pants in another. None of these were in a "trail" formation (as if she was dropping things as she moved). Doesn't make any sense for a police chief to suggest she just lost her pants. jmo
... except if Shannan was suffering an episode and was disoriented. Has it been reported what she was wearing when she approached three houses near the home of her client? Where was her jacket found?

How long was she with the client. There is no evidence that she was murdered, drowned, drugged, or that she did not die by accident. Her hyoid bone is missing. Did she remove and toss her belongings, or did the marsh water separate her from her belongings.

It doesn't seem surprising that the hyoid, held in place with muscles and ligaments, is missing after a body has been in the marsh for 19 months.

"The hyoid bone is a horseshoe-shaped structure located at root of the tongue in the anterior neck between the lower jaw and the largest cartilage of the larynx - the thyroid cartilage. The hyoid has no direct articulation with other bones; it is only connected distantly to other bones by muscles or ligaments."

I'm unconvinced about anything related to the I95 cases... it's just been used by multiple serial offenders for so damn long to find and dispose of victims. It's a major thoroughfare, so many people who travel it aren't even local. Kind of the opposite to a stretch of Long Island beach that involves crossing bridges from the mainland for access.

However, if we discover that RH has strong ties to Florida and the I95, I may reassess.

Edit: On reflection, I think I was confusing the I95 with the I45, which is in a different part of the country, but I still am not convinced the I95 cases are connected with RH. (Please forgive the mix-up, I am very tired and have been dealing with a migraine all day.)

MOO

Where has it been reported that he was out of town for extended periods of time? I haven't seen that. Thank you.

Is Rex Heuermann also responsible for the Manorville murders but, as a designer, he switched it up?

Maybe he started by being safe and leaving bodies farther away from home? The typical reason for removing hands is to delay identification of the body. He removed the hands and found a new place to hide bodies while searching for a closer-to-home place to hide the hands? In 2000, the body was found in Manorville. In 2010 the hands were found near other bodies.

Did he decide that camouflage burlap in the poison ivy on the beach would eliminate the need to cut off hands, so as a designer he modified his technique for murdering escorts? Is he a serial killer who dumped bodies closer to home over time?

My poor wording perhaps? I was trying to say that if he were to leave town for extended periods of time friends and family might have been tipped off to something going on. They weren't so I doubt he took long jaunts out of town.

Glad to see you here, Otto.
You are a great sleuth, and I learn much from your posts.
