As of my burning the house -theory; those garage door installs can be hazardous...

And now to my other theory:

RH was being followed over year. That's a long time, even if they didn't follow him at every minute.

But I bet he noticed it. He prolly noticed it and quessed that he would been caught soon. I think it made him to act differently.

Many recent things we read about him is because he wanted to look weirdo in the detective papers; in late Febuary he left that voicemail ect...
<modsnip - rumor from unapproved source>

So no wonder the police has said they afraid RH would mix up evidence.
He knew the new task force had been put together, he'd been following that.

I don't know he knew he was the chief suspect though.
These guys are sharp, unobtrusive, I doubt he'd have spotted them..

The aerial photo helps communicate what a desolate, lonely area was chosen for the bodies. I am not from NY, but I have visited the area a few times in the fall, winter and spring, but not in the summer. The road was deserted, and the areas I was traveling in had no gas stations or places to eat. There were no houses for long stretches. It struck me that it would be a terrible place to get a flat tire... When I first was made aware of the murders, I could imagine bodies discarded in the area with no witnesses for miles.

He recalled a relatively simple bathroom renovation, in an exclusive building, for which Heuermann insisted on multiple unnecessary meetings on site. The plans were expertly laid out; everything was in line to proceed without incident. “The architect was great,” Taffera said. “The super was great.” But Heuermann blustered and nitpicked in a way that went “far above and beyond” the goal of maintaining a structurally sound building.

“It was a control issue,” he said. “It was ridiculous. If ‘sadistic’ is watching people go through hoops over and over without much reason, then it was sadistic.”

Where I lived and on LI it should be illegal, it's just too densely populated, homes are too close together, etc. I moved from Northern New Jersey after 9/11 and moved to my summer home at the Jersey Shore. I owned nearly 1 acre there and it wasn't allowed there either. It is weird that he was doing it and getting away with it like he did.
too bad not one person reported him!

Very telling, imo. I bet we hear more of this.

Fantastic article, thank you!

Quoted:
"In the Gilgo Beach investigation, the critical clue had fallen through the cracks.

“If they knew about it then, a major mistake was made in not tracking down this car earlier,” said Rob Trotta, a former Suffolk County detective and a current county legislator, who said he expects to make an official inquiry into what happened."

Mr. Trotta, please don't play with our hearts.
I hope he is serious about this and I hope something comes of it. SCPD has many, many questions to answer for.

One thing about renovations in older buildings - and I'm not defending Heuermann specifically - is that once a wall or ceiling is opened up, a Pandora's box of construction problems can and do appear. Many people do not understand this when they plan remodeling projects. There may indeed have been structural, plumbing or electrical problems revealed, even for a bathroom remodel. Remodeling exposes hidden conditions, and there are many instances of cost escalations due to the need to address what is found. In an apartment building, it isn't just the owner's desires that are at stake. An alteration or revealed defect affects the other residents and potentially the service life of shared building components. Heuermann was able to maintain his business since at least 1996, so despite his demeanor and hidden evil, he may well have had competent judgement in this kind of matter.

And I'm sorta laughing, thinking of how many firefighters lived on that block (as reported at link above).

Edited to add: I'm not laughing at the idea of arson, which I think might be possible, but at the thought of starting a fire in a neighborhood of firefighers.

I don't know why this made me laugh, but I'm picturing the neighbors getting out chairs and roasting marshmallow's watching it burn to the ground.

Would SW’s or Escorts readily agree to accompanying a new customer (or any customer) to his home?

Wondering if LE has found evidence of RH paying for hotels rooms. Isn’t that the usual way these encounters happen.

If RH did kill these girls inside his home, what could that mean as far as his method of gaining trust?
Did he previously “date” these girls ( restaurant, dinner, meet at a park) and have pleasant, non threatening conversation with the intent of gaining their trust - for the final date at his home.
So many questions.
Due to one of my close friends occupations I have conversated with no less than 30 sex workers over the years. From different backgrounds, "levels" and races. Most are pretty intelligent.
This is usually how it goes, at least around here.

-Some independent SW'ers will show up alone to some ones house depending how desperate (drugs) or new they are (new haven't been robbed or beat up by *advertiser censored* holes so they are more naive) . Especially depending on the area they caller wants them to go to and how the client sounded over the phone. If the person sounds like a total creep or cop they wont go at all.

-The ones with pimps/drivers obviously will take more risks since they have back up. They will also try to mention over the phone that they have a driver or BF so the john won't try anything funky (usually not paying).

-Some of them up at different hotels and motels and only do incalls, meaning you can go to them but they Won't go to you.

- The higher end ones that specialize in BDM and other odd stuff will rent an "office" or "spa" and only take clients they know by appointment. I know one lady that does this is loaded. She said some of her clients are teachers, cops and local politicians but wouldn't name any no matter how hard I try. She makes about 500k cash a year and is living like a queen. Her location isn't far from the Hauppauge hotel RH picked one of the victims up from.

I am not sold on RH being SG's murderer. IMO it was an unfortunate, but fortunate coincidence (not quite sure how to phrase that to make it sound appropriate--but you get my drift) that she ended up where she did that led to the discovery of the other girls. That said, I also do not believe SG's death was from natural causes as the ME states. Some person or persons are responsible for that girl's death.
Wasn't it Dr. Baden who performed the 2nd autopsy and found SG's hyoid bone fractured/injured?

Next court date August 1st
I am going to try to make it to the court appearance. Not that I can get in but I’m hoping I can see him being brought in. I’m 5’1, knowing the girls were so petite, there is a part of me that wants to see for myself, how big he actually is. I know it sounds silly. I’m also curious to see the toll that being locked up is taking on him.

Could it also have been a money issue? Each trip out to the site could be billed and all "expenses". He padded the bill.

Interesting info from the Times article gifted from @r3d-ros3 :

They had Heuermann's name by March of '22. For some reason I thought they pulled the pizza box earlier but they actually didn't get the pizza box until July of '22 but test results didn't come back until *this June*, 2023. Even though they had his own DNA from the hair left on one of the victims, they needed to actually *see* him discard something. They couldn't arrest him until recently. Maybe it's just me but the timeline I had was a little different.

Observation from the drone footage shown in the article. It looks like the fence behind RH is opened up. That would be a great way for LE to evade the pesky photogs! I like it. (attached pics)

He did say that. However, I think because he never handed any money over the first night (at least that’s what the bf claimed. Due to his size

It doesn’t sound silly in the least to me, those who have been invested in this case understand
