The extremely close ties between the pair may have influenced Heuermann’s decision to buy his childhood home in Massapequa Park from his mom for $170,000 in 1994 — shortly after his first marriage, to Elizabeth Ryan in 1990, failed.

Yeah pretty similar situation here. I'm just looking at a case that I marked to follow, of an Asian/Hispanic male, the title of the thread says mariners Park. I think I may have accidently made the jump, so far the thread doesn't mention women's clothes though bit it was noted that he was small in stature. I wonder if I made the jump due to the fact that RH searches

I just don't think RH is responsible for all....others involved, either with him or as well as him

Also think shockwaves are only rippling right now

When the masses of collected evidence is processed, who knows the depth this will go ??

Local ABC news reporter says she has been covering crime scenes, homicide scenes for nearly 20 years, never seen investigators stay this long processing.

reporter actually says, "I believe they're taking this house down to the studs"

Good. After how this case was handled in the beginning, this new task force is going to leave no stone unturned. They will scour every square inch of that house, along with the storage units and the property in SC, I’m sure. So far, I’m super grateful for them and the work they have done. How they were able to keep it so under wraps for almost a year and half is impressive.

I agree with you. I have wondered how he could be responsible for Shannon Gilbert when the house or area she called 911 from wasn’t his house.

Interesting interview with FBI profiler Jim Clemente on CNN right now. He has a lot to say about Rex H. Says LE arrested him in Manhattan because they needed to get him away from his guns at home. He probably would have been the type to "shoot it out" with LE if they tried to arrest him at home. Also said he treated his family terribly and probably only kept them as a cover for his activities. Their lives were probably very restricted by him.

Can't say for sure, but it seems worthwhile to look into it. Serial killers change their methods over time, "learning" as they go.

Agree 100%, also her son has special needs and required almost all of her attention, instead of it being focused on RH

I think the roommate saw it the night before when they pulled their ruse on him but I guess the original investigators on the case didn’t take it into account or didn’t care enough to investigate further.

Yes, Clemente felt very badly about how he treated his family, especially with reports of them using food stamps. He implied Rex H may have withheld money from them, using it for his own purposes. He talked of R's relationship in a way that sounded like he didn't think R had any emotional attachment to them at all. No caring, nothing. If so, that's a little different from other SK's who lived "alternate" lives with families.

He also said there's something noteworthy about the way Rex was kind and helpful to some people, yet treated others badly. It's unknown for now, but he had some reasons of his own for how he dealt with people.

As for Rex popping out of the trees at the park in dirty clothing and harassing a young woman...I want to know where he came from and why he was filthy..what was he doing back there? is it a large area? But if this guy were such a threat to Amber the previous night, as DS states, then why would she agree to book a date with him the very next night. AND agree to leave her cell phone behind ? Alternately, if she and Dave had set the guy up the night before, why would she agree to book a date with him the very next night ? Is it possible that she didn't know the guy from " the ruse" was the same guy she was booking a date with until she saw him around the corner in his car ? Did he pull a gun on her and force her into the car ?

IMO - I think he contacted her from a different number and pretended to be someone else (even though he told her the night before she owed him and gets credit for next time) and offered a large sum of cash. I don’t think she would have willingly left alone with him after what transpired the day before.
