Three hours is a decent amount of time. But even using a large four wheeler with a rack or a deer dolly to transport the deer to a waiting truck, it's incredibly laborious and rather time consuming. Maybe his hunting mates are fitter than RH, idk??

How large is the back yard? If he did dress the deer at home, I wonder if he got a big kick out of freaking out the neighbors?

This case is so disturbing. I'm convinced that they've just scratched the surface. I hope the breaks in the case keep coming.
Cannot even imagine the info le is unloading. 3 weeks and he is back in court. Give us some more info to tackle.

Tidbits from lengthy article.

''Heuermann invariably made reference to his size.

“Every time, you’d talk to the guy, he’d throw that in; ‘Me being six-five, 250,’” de Villiers recalled.''
Heuermann asked de Villiers several times if he played cards. De Villiers lied and said no.''

''De Villiers recalled that Heuermann had two or three friends who came by occasionally early on, but they were scruffier than typical Massapequa residents, many of whom are cops and other firefighters.
“They seemed a pretty low life type,” de Villiers said. “You could pick them up and put them in a trailer park.”

''During a few random encounters, de Villiers found Craig to be “a nasty and mean *advertiser censored*.” Heuermann was by the firefighter’s experience “kind of a wuss.”

''He saw Christopher preparing to cut it with an antiquated rotary mower that looked considerably older than Christopher himself.
De Villiers had learned over the years that the son was not fond of physical labor, and the lawn seemed a challenge. The firefighter’s heart went out to the son of the accused serial killer.''

The article is a very good read. Kindof a strange mix of all the murders, but some ...real...upfront and personal from the next door neighbor.
The neighbor does provide some sense of "caring" over all his years living there.

The rotary mower was likely older than Rex, let alone older than Christopher. My dad had a rotary mower too that he "inherited" from my grandfather - and I'm around Rex' age. I remember my older siblings pooling their money to buy a gas-powered mower when they were teenagers, lol.

I bet that mower was the same one Rex used in the same yard as a kid. No upgrades for his family over the years at that house.

An electric mower only costs about $100.
One would think one of these 4 would have thought...

Article dated 2018: QUEENS, New York -- Seven members of the NYPD were arrested Wednesday in connection with a prostitution and narcotics case dating back to 2015....The suspects -- three sergeants, two detectives and two officers -- were reportedly based in Queens and Brooklyn were believed to be providing protection for the operation of the prostitution and gambling ring in the same boroughs.

Authorities say a retired NYPD detective and his wife, a former prostitute, ran brothels located in the confines of the 72nd Precinct in Sunset Park in Brooklyn and along Roosevelt Avenue in Queens. Current officers who knew the retired detective then became involved, police say, providing security or information.

That's interesting. I would wonder if this married couple they're noting as a part of this ever went to any swinger clubs, which would connect with JR's information.

I think when he wrote “cross bar” he may have meant “spreader bar”

Jmo
Do you think of that:
Softly padded leather cuffs, fixed on a metal bar. Bar telescopically extendable from 35 to 60 cm.
(spreading the legs at ankle height)
ETA: Maybe, it is possible to install it on a table?

Interesting.

7 were arrested and "at least" two had their job assignment modified. The duration of that is not clear.

There is a statement thanking the internal affairs department for the swift action and holding sworn officers to a high standard. But it doesn't sound like most of the officers, who were not named, faced serious difficulties.

Providing protection for traffickers sounds to me pretty serious, even if as a courtesy. Providing protection for pay, the more likely scenario, sounds even more serious.

There might have been more action taken later than this news piece. But if this was the end of the story, that looks like a hand slap for allowing or possible profiting from human trafficking.

It is considerable later in time than Karen Vergata's visit to the Heuermann home, but there are consistent themes with the affidavit of the swinger.

Very interesting info. Two boroughs protect and thrive. Two li boroughs possibly prorect, have a task force initiated at this time, block investigarion and is a graveyard for residents of the Manhattan boroughs. Hmm. Thank goodness for the interest being paid. Wonderful share @snooptroop88

I would be very surprised if the police haven't done a thorough inspection of every aspect of this guy's life.
I hope the police have done a thorough inspection of every aspect of that guy's life.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be too surprised to find that corners were cut, being that it took so long to identify him, there seemed to be a concerted social media effort to stop charging at the gilgo 3/4 (Trollish posts like "What's the point of charging more? He's already never coming out of jail anyway?" Seemed ubiquitous), the DA has been biased rather than neutral on witnesses, attacking John Ray and exonerating Rex's family in a contrived way, rather than simply saying they are cooperating and they are not subjects or suspects at this time.

I would have a lot more optimism about the robustness of the investigation if there was not a bizarre, intense, and inaccurate campaign against John Ray. John Ray has never presented false information. John Ray has provided extremely valuable information. He is embraced by the person who put together the task force that identified Rex as a suspect and arrested him as a defendant.

I don't understand how anyone can be on the side of solving LISK, yet reject John Ray wholesale. John Ray has only added information and never given incorrect information. He shares it with law enforcement.

One crucial information that John Ray has brought us is that the family were not in Atlantic City the same dates the DA first presented. This may not mean anything. Just because a person is not in Atlantic City does not make them a murderer. But a fullsome investigation embraces that kind of information an incorporates in into neutral following of facts. I have mostly seen incredible progress by the task force, but I get worried when relevant information is pushed to the side. I want to be confident that facts are being chased.

When I see a balanced approach to John Ray and witnesses, I will start to believe that there is a fullsome investigation from all parts of the task force.

They're named here in NYTs and in ABC7News article it says many of the women are from Central America.

My thoughts went to … young man cutting grass is maybe not safe with power mower. Can’t really cut of fingers or feet with the old manual mower. And it’s a good workout.
I've had one of those. The spinning blades aren't really safe...

I think it was more about being cheap, but also about being a sadist. Why buy a mower when he could force his son to toil for hours using an antiquated device.

Same reaction. The old, non-motorized mowers aren't necessarily safer, don't have safety guards that I recall, are difficult to use, require blade sharpening if I remember correctly, and give you wicked callouses on the hands.

To me, it looks like he got a charge out of making yardwork into as unpleasant and difficult of a chore as possible....and perhaps some idealization of his own childhood accomplishments: "If I did it and survived, you can too."

Same here, I've also checked for missing individuals dob, it's not always available. If RH is a Cottingham follower, Cottingham supposedly confessed (don't know that it's believed) to the murder of Jeanette DePalma. But regardless of the Cottingham factor, Jeannette DePalma's was a highly publicized case when it occurred. She was reported missing Aug 7, 1972. She was murdered in Springfield Township, NJ. I've located no dob for a murder victim or missing individual with 08/06/1972. Have wondered if the entire 080672 sequence could be a reference to a postal code, a phone number, something with an address. I've wondered if the numbers are something of a mix with the Aug 6 referring to the date of the murder and the "72" something completely different, maybe a route/highway/interstate or address related number. Have wondered if it's a relative of RH's dob. Or maybe the date of a relative's death. RH would be about 9 yo in 1972

08067 is a postal code in NJ, and it's in a very rural area with desolate pockets. Pretty sure the Delaware River ends in that postal code.

So far, my best guess is the 080672 is a mix. Maybe the August 6 is date of murder, the "72" could be the year of victim's birth, something related to an address, no way to know. I'd wonder if the 72 might not reference a route or highway exit number.
Had an odd thought….. and not disagreeing or indicating about whether that ‘080672’ might be a date. And if dates are in consideration, the European Union (EU) and other regions often use a day / month / year format. (As contrasted with typical US month / day / year convention.) MOO

Totally agreed, this 080672-- it could be anything. It certainly looks to me like a dob. And yeah, he might be doing the UK format Here's another thing, though.

He was using this as a dob for himself. Now, it may be a victim's dob, maybe a Jane or John Doe without a report where we don't know the dob, maybe someone missing, unreported, and her remains are undiscovered. But it could also be a date of victim death. To be honest, I'd think that's just as likely. And if that's the case, the 08 and 06 would be the date of death, but again, he is using this as his own dob. If he killed the victim on August 6, 2009, for example, he can't list "09" as a believable year of birth for himself. So I'm also kind of staying alert to victims with date of death or disappearance near/around August 6 period. The '72 may just have been an accommodation of his "need" at the time for a believable lie on his dob.
