Personally, I don't think Tommy is such a good guy, but I also don't think he took it upon himself to go find his sister that day and take her home out of the blue. I think she called him when she and Ron were fighting and in the midst of the fight Ron charged her brother for getting involved. I've seen it happen in domestic disputes. Family members can't win because so much of the time the fighting couple will get back together and you're the bad guy for trying to help out.
It's extremely common, and I've BTDT personally, but luckily the guy wasn't the type to physically fight us. Very difficult situation.

I don't know whether Misty did that or not in this case, but because it is so common, it's perfectly reasonable to believe she did, and there is no evidence to support claiming it to be a fact that she didn't.

I am thrilled that things might be moving forward, just disappointed that once again a thread has gone so far off topic - really no discussion of Hank Jr though some have tried.

I'm kinda surprised....I thought everyone would be happy that progress might be happeneing..............guess I thought wrong.

I appreciate that we have differences of opinion. Thats a good thing when looking at all sides of an unsolved case. But Bunny didnt GET where I was going. I shouldnt have asked her if she had a daughter, I was trying to get her to see that if she did, she might understand why Mistys family stayed in the drive.
I was NOT taking my personal bad experiences OUT on Ron. I just calls em like I sees em. Thanks for the support. I do respect all opinions even if they're not on course with mine.
Ok thats a lie, but good for her for standing her ground LOL

It could be but if we believe what is being reported - TC was trying to return the stolen gun and was then arrested. So doesnt sound like LE had possession of the gun at the time.

...........so uh......Tommy got arrested today for something bad enough to hold him on a $50K bail. It's been rumored to be a gun. Someone upthread stated Tommy had not, as of Friday, turned over all his guns. This gun is a stolen one.

My question: Could he have turned in his guns today and as they were running serials on 'em all, found one that was listed as stolen?

I am delighted to see them arresting Tommy for whatever reason! I see the bond is set high enough that I doubt they will be coming up with the funds to get him out anytime soon.

I believe now they have him in jail maybe they can put the pressure on him to confess to what really happened that night to Haleigh as I think he is the real "key".

I thought the RO dictated he could not own or have guns in his possession? (If the gun story is even true...considering the "source".)

The RO does and someone posted he had 48 hours to turn them in. Did this have something to do with the handgun Tommy was supposed to have? Did he steal it earlier and try to give it back to the person he stole it from? Did he really take Ron's gun and place the blame on Joe? Or is this a new handgun he just recently stole?

For my part, I'd much rather be discussing new and possibly good news than answering canards, too. I gotta say I don't really know what more there is to say than has been said though, without more information than we have...

Has anything been discovered beyond his charge and bail? I really don't know what to think of it other than that he sure seems to want a gun really badly, and that's discomfiting..

I am, I really haven't seen anyone say they weren't.

Cajun, I'd like to add one more question to your list, if anyone knows....Would a bond REALLY be set at $50000 for a stolen gun? I think not...

Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, and I know LE said this has nothing to do with Haleigh's disappearance, but something tells me it does. There is something bigger going on.

I agree teh. I dont see why we seem to be kinda hung up here about 1 incident. We need to be sleuthing. Some things we can't answer, so this may be just a "wait and see" issue. Maybe the truth will come out tomorrow. MOO :blowkiss:

It will NOT surprise me to learn that Tommy, in turning over his guns, sees the stolen one and, well since he's sitting in front of LE says "Hey guys! I meant to give this to you awhile back! This was stolen from a friend of mine and I just happened to see it lying at some guy's house and I took it back. I know I should have turned it in........"

I read that. I just wonder how did they know he was going to return it? :waitasec: I find myself doing that more often than not with this case. LOL

I dunno, but it doesn't really matter I guess, his bond is high, so I think he'll be in there a while, and hopefully he'll spill anything he may know.

Good post Kelly. You are exactly right. I am retired now, but did counseling at a battered women's shelter for a few years. RC has classic traits of an abusive man.

WOW, I tried numerous times to Post, however, kept getting kicked off... Needless to say interesting observations... Absolutely love the way you think, lets get keep this goijng

I think bond could be that high if the stolen gun had been used in a prior crime, perhaps a felony. My brother once had a gun collection stolen and one of the guns showed up many years later in a murder case in Louisiana.

That could be, I didn't think of that, I think that is very possible. I thought it was so high because maybe they considered him a flight risk with the 8 day estate sale and talks of moving.

Okay you guys, tell me (because I am not quite sure) what the heck is going on with this case.... I guess I have been working to many hours and watching the losing Chicago Cubs in the meantime???? Take Care All!!

No it wouldn't. I've seen a lot worse charges on PCSO's site where their bond was a fifth of that amount. Maybe they set it high so he couldn't bond out and take off. I don't know if a bond company would bond him either since he was planning on moving soon
I wonder if the phone records they recently got showed something?

I have a gillion questions running through my mind right now.

Had to look that one up, learn something new everyday,Thanks Muffet!

He would have to come up with 5,000 right and then some guarantee - the own the home but have a mortgagee so don't know if that could be used as collateral. He would be considered a flight risk I am sure. Hope they didnt raise 5,000 at the yard sale.

I am also curious why LE wanted to talk to Lisa and Hank and they took off abruptly? Wonder if they will track them down like they did Chelsea and Timmy.

I read somewhere that if the person was considered a flight risk, they wouldn't get a bond, period....So I am thinking that can't be the reason for the high bail.
Also, if the gun was used in a prior crime, such as a robbery, shooting, etc...They can't just pin that on Tommy Croslin without charging him, or without evidence.

Due to the high volume of alerts received in the past hour I suggest everyone go back and review their posts and edit accordingly before I have a chance to do so.
