Closer, I think this is great progress tonight. I keep hanging around to see if we can find out about the charges. If they can get Tommy to talk, maybe we can find out what all the phone calls were about between he and Misty the night HaLeigh disappeared.

I agree. I am so excited about this news, I can't go to bed! This may be what we have all been praying for.

No it wouldn't. I've seen a lot worse charges on PCSO's site where their bond was a fifth of that amount. Maybe they set it high so he couldn't bond out and take off. I don't know if a bond company would bond him either since he was planning on moving soon

Cajun, take a look at the person directly under Tommy and his charges. He actually has the same charge as Tommy plus about 5 more, and his bond is still extremely low.

He would have to come up with 5,000 right and then some guarantee - the own the home but have a mortgagee so don't know if that could be used as collateral. He would be considered a flight risk I am sure. Hope they didnt raise 5,000 at the yard sale.

I am also curious why LE wanted to talk to Lisa and Hank and they took off abruptly? Wonder if they will track them down like they did Chelsea and Timmy.

I wonder if LE got to talk to them or they left before LE got there. I am sure if LE needs them they will be able to find them. I thought they were going to move near Timmy, I guess they changed their minds and settled for TN.

I read somewhere that if the person was considered a flight risk, they wouldn't get a bond, period....So I am thinking that can't be the reason for the high bail.
Also, if the gun was used in a prior crime, such as a robbery, shooting, etc...They can't just pin that on Tommy Croslin without charging him, or without evidence.

I don't know. It's a real mystery isn't it? $50,000 is a high bond and one LE surely knows he can't make. They definitely want his undivided attention, seems like to me.

Who knows if it is accurate but it is being reported by TJ (IIRC) that they found out LE wanted to question them and they took off quickly. IMO Lisa and Hank go where ever someone will let them stay - when they out last their welcome they move on to the next person.

Boy howdy and Tommy's is a third degree felony also but his bond is 5 times higher.

3rd Degree Grand Theft

If the stolen property is valued between $300 and $19,999, then the defendant will be charged with 3rd Degree Grand Theft, which is a 3rd Degree Felony. A charge of third degree grand theft also applies if the property take is a firearm, a motor vehicle, a commercially farmed animal, a fire extinguisher, any amount of fruit consisting of 2,000 or more individual pieces, any stop sign, construction signs, or anhydrous ammonia.
The penalty for a third degree felony is a maximum of 5 years in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Your question is just a hard one to answer. Basically at this point there is a whole lot of nothing going on.

Tonight the brother of Misty was arrested and is being held with a high bond, LE says it has nothing to do with Haleigh being missing. Many are questioning the high bond amount and hoping that this may be a step in the right direction.

I was not ignoring you I just did not know how to answer.

You can't sell a truck that does not belong to you. However, it will depend on if Lisa signed off on the title to the new owners making her the actual seller.

...........so uh......Tommy got arrested today for something bad enough to hold him on a $50K bail. It's been rumored to be a gun. Someone upthread stated Tommy had not, as of Friday, turned over all his guns. This gun is a stolen one.

My question: Could he have turned in his guns today and as they were running serials on 'em all, found one that was listed as stolen?

Ahhhh feels so good to be back on topic. Sometimes when I watch a magician I watch the hand that seems to be idle instead of the one making flowers appear and stuff, and I realize I was being intentionally diverted all along. I love magicians.

Ok so this is not about the gun that was/wasn't stolen from Ron? This is a different gun allegedly stolen from a friend. He tried to return it and was arrested. Gotta be more to that story.

Annkitty, I'm sorry but I think it would take any one of us 7349837987 hours to explain this case. It's the most complicated, most bizarre, most mind boggling case I've ever followed in my life.

There are so many twists and turns that we feel like we are constantly on a roller coaster and it never stops.

The one thing that we all have in common, is that we want justice for beautiful little Haleigh, no matter what.

Given what they've already had to go through recently, can it be as simple as, once Tommy was done with court, they took off for points North, starting with family in TN? I mean, it might not be a straight shot to MA, but it at least allows Lisa to visit her mom.....I dunno.

Previously it was suggested that Lisa & Hank might go to MA, along with Tommy & Lindsy. Why did L&H go to TN instead of MA? Chelsea said she & Timmy moved to MA to get away from all the controversy and get a fresh start and said she has family in MA. I wonder if there was some Croslin family dissention, with the result being that T&L and L&H changed plans to go to TN instead.
I also wonder why L&H moved so fast and left on Sat. Could they have already heard that LE would want to question any/all of them again and decided to try and avoid this? With the house and kids, it wouldn't be as easy for T&L to pull up stakes and go.
It sure will be interesting to hear how LE managed to find a good reason to nab Tommy. I bet they have been looking for one!
