So where is the crime scene team in action today? I'm more interested in knowing that than knowing anything about where their big white rig is parked!

Here.

This is where the action is. It is the first left after turning onto Walnut Creek Park Road.

True, but he hasn't been charged with capital murder.

I truly think that is coming. They are going to go for the DP on Hannah and Morgan.

Its just a matter of time and I think his attorney already knows it.

I don't think JM told them where the body was located even if they may have threatened they were going for the death penalty.

Now they wont have to just threaten him. It is going to happen. IMO

Good question. Also, was he an owner perhaps? There were previous posts about him possibly owning a business. So many questions?
He also owned a house or land, didn't he? There was a post about that a while ago.

Plus I don't think Coy would try to question the 3193 property owner just based off some threads he read on Websleuths. He herd the scanners and/or has insider police sources.

Barefoot is a close personal friend of Longo per CNN.

Somewhere I read that Coy Barefoot was a personal friend of Chief Timothy Longo. I haven't found the link but am sure I read that. Anyone else?

Thank you FindHG for bringing fwd the latest MSM and keeping this thread updated up to the minute.

I hope you and our other new members who were brought here via Hannah will stick around and help with other cases.

And another thing...there hasn't been any info leaked on where or how JM's taxi van was found, yet full on TV and print interviews about the remains that were found? How is it they've kept so many important things quiet yet the most important and sensitive info to date is revealed easily? Something's weird :)

I don't think the fact that remains were found could have been hidden. Too much press following this case who knew searches were happening and the general area. An ME van pulling into an area where searching for a missing person is being searched for is a dead giveaway. So is scanner chatter to those seasoned journalists. They know how to read what they are seeing, hearing and not hearing. I feel that LE were able to keep the location of the abandoned van a secret because press did not happened to be aware of where they were the day they found it. Not so with the remains found. So they got out ahead of the "breaking Bombshells" and confirmed human remains were found and then locked down tight refusing to answer questions and cited active investigation. I also do not believe the sgt who actually found remains gave much more detail about the location than the presser did and I am sure he was debriefed very carefully about what he could and could not say to the press about the situation.

I feel they did something similar with van but press was not close to knowing the where of it and therefore have been able to keep those details quiet. I don't think it's anything more complex than that.

Otto has said the area HE believes the remains were found at is a "farm" located IN Walnut Creek Park that is owned by the County Finance Office. The address OF Walnut Creek Park is 4250 Walnut Creek Road and of course it probably IS owned by the County. How can a particular area of the park be considered a separate farm (as per Otto?). What am I missing here?

Not trying to pick on you OTTO, and you do bring up valid points on the Ariel photos of the command center. But to say that Coy wrote an article today loosely based on things we were talking about last night here on WS is a little bit of a stretch IMO. I believe he has much better sources than Websleuths.

That's certainly what I assumed, until one day, a couple of months ago, where a reporter from a well established newspaper contacted me about maps I'd posted here,, and asked to interview me. I declined, but it did tell me that reporters were reading her.

His attorney may be waiting to get identification & autopsy results, but I think JLM already knows what they will find. And more.

Strange they would refer to County property as "abandoned" though.

Will do. Thank you.

I just want to say to Otto that your imaging/mapping skills are awesome and I'm glad that you are here. I'm always hoping you will join any cases I follow, and it is my goal to learn to do what you do with maps.

I hope that any media reading here will respect LE's decision to preserve the crime scene and keep people out until necessary.

Also, I remember in Jessica's case, helicopters were immediately over the scene where she was found (ugh, I'll never forget those images as long as I live). I'm still playing catchup here, but maybe LE has directed the media to stay out.

an accomplice? still out there? It would be a good bargaining chip for either one if so to avoid DP.

Doesn't this location also make sense in regards to the neighbor who lived just doorsteps from the scene who smelled the odor?

This morning I read a link provided by one of our wonderful posters about decomp and it stated there is still a strong cheesy odor even when the remains have been reduced to nothing but bone. I guess it takes a long time for the bones to completely dry out.

Sorry for being so graphic.

I think abandoned might be a euphemism for "currently uninhabited". jmo

I will never understand how anyone could take the job of defending a murderer. You could not pay me enough money to help try to get a murderer set free.
What is the reason for this "calling"? I'm guessing most would say they do it for the chance to defend the innocent, or that everyone deserves representation until proven guilty...

But what do these types do once the evidence shows their client is guilty? They try to get them a lessened sentence in any way possible.
I'm usually pretty accepting as a person, but honestly, I find it to be a disgusting way to make a living.

I still don't see what people think is so strange about pictures of officers being on different properties than the one mentioned in the article.

I'm almost certain they are searching any and everywhere they can in that area to see if they can find more evidence. It's possible for the Barefoot article to be correct and for them to still be searching elsewhere.
