That shows a level of cunning, if you ask me. I have worked for some parks and in my experience, those gates and recreation areas will get more patrols than private property. The State gets precedent over private land owner complaints, in most places.

In my opinion, Jesse could've stayed at one of the abandoned homes until sun-up and been just fine, the gates to a park or state property, he's asking to be caught. There may also be cameras there.

Do not confuse what I'm saying, I'm not talking about the backcountry of parks, but the gates and parking and recreation areas where every 16 year old thinks he's the first one to think about drinking there with friends.

Yes, but I had to blow it up a LOT to see anything I thought might be officers. There also seem to be several on the left side, closer to the cars. I think.

I can see crime scene tape down the left side of the property all the way back to the tree line and across the entire back right at the tree line. It appears they have cordoned off most of the 2.5 acre tract. JMO

I can't make out any behind the cottage. Can you? also i only see people milling around in the street

That guy hasn't even SEEN what was found...he is pure speculating.
There is no telling what soft tissue may still remain...one man's bone may be more graphic than another man's. Some how I highly doubt the bones/skull found are completely bleached out and as 'pristine' as the skeletal models hanging in an anatomy classroom. Now if it IS determined the remains are not Hannah's, well then....

The former ME is most likely right that the decomposition si "far in excess" of what is expected. Seems like many of us here feel the same way. But as many of us are pointing out, it may not just be decompostion but animal/bird pickings that did this.

Hi "themom". I am checking in, and following the progress. All of this seems to make sense, even the speculation. The crew is far larger than necessary for a single homicide investigation. The area is perfectly suited to have been under the radar. I think that some of the other assessments of Longo's address support strong indications that this is the hoped for product of our search. And some nervousness that some other stuff might be learned...jmo

Hey Gilamon... Welcome back.. I was beginning to worry about you.. I know how a tragedy of this magnitude can devastate a community's peace of mind and serenity..
I think you are very accurate in your conclusions concerning the size of the search.. The property where HG has been found being vacant since 2010 when MH's remains were located on Anchorage Farm has me very concerned.. Hopefully many other family's of the missing/murdered in VA will get some long awaited answers and a semblance of closure due to this thorough and ongoing investigation...

I realize this is pages ago at this point (I step away for real life and I cannot keep up!), but this is very very interesting. This guy was convincing enough that I've actually got a bit of skepticism now that it's HG. Very anxious to find out soon what the facts come back to be.

I noticed that, too. So is that just the staging area? I think otto was right that there is LE activity there on the Walnut Creek Park entrance road AS WELL AS where HG's remains were found on Old Lynchburg road.

I know everyone wants to "put it to rest," but based on the photos that have been posted, it appears that LE is in both areas.

I was reading earlier where he has connections to New York. They said that he has known associates in Washington D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York in addition to his home state of Virginia.

Yeah, i was wondering this too... If there were cameras there. I would HIGHLY expect that there has got to be some sort of cameras located at that gate. This is not a "cheap" park- it is well maintained from the looks of the photos I've seen online. And usually parks that have put that much expense into the buildings and surrounding grounds I'd expect they'd at least want a few cameras around. At least I would HOPE they would.

I'm actually a bit surpised that the dental id has not yet been made. I know it's Sunday, but in a case getting this kind of national attention, I'd think that the specialist would come in to make the match. It would not take that long, and I'm sure Hannah's records are on hand. The DNA match would take a while, most likely since other tests would be run as well, but the dental ID has long been used and it's fast.
