Has the search been called off

Personally, I do not think that he is coming back. It is very odd that he just packed up and left and in a matter of minutes, not a scaling back of operations, but a complete shut down.

I, along with everyone else have to ask, why???

Over 1200 people show up on Saturday to assist in searching for Caylee and the next day he packs up and leaves........It just doesn't make any sense. I think that either funding ran out and he needed to get back home, he is upset with the Anthony's and feels that since they do want to cooperate that it isn't worth his time ( which I would hate to think since he stressed this is all about Caylee) or they have found something. I just don't know.

That is my thought exactly. Something must be happening. He's not coming back; it's a front. Of course, this is all my opinion but very odd things are happening here that aren't adding up. He said he wouldn't leave until she was found, so I tend to believe she was found.

I have to say, I to, was in complete disbelief when I read that Tim Miller and Equusearch were calling off the search. I have only participated in one search and had plans to go back on Thursday and Friday to continue searching. I, like the rest of you, want CAYLEE home! I feel so disillusioned now by what Tim has said, citing environmental conditions for the reason to call off the search. He attributed the harsh conditions to the water left by Hurricane Fay....what???? We never even took a direct hit from Fay, that was Debary and Deland which is approximately 50+ miles away.. We had a couple days of rain but within in days it was dried up. I live about three miles from the Orlando International Airport and I have to tell you it is DRY!!!! Yes, the areas that we were searching were "mucky" but it is Florida.

I have been a member of a local DMAT (Disaster Medical Assitance Team) for years and the one thing that we are taught is that search and rescue does not take place in pristine conditions. We are taught how to work and live in austere conditions!!! Alligators, snakes, mosquitoes etc, all come with the territory. After Hurricane Katrina we had team members literally swimming in water that was littered with trash, dead animals, oil, gas and even decomposing corpses to search and recover bodies from houses. Not once did we ever say "Don't go in there the conditions are bad." Our team always held onto the hope that we might find someone alive....and we did.

I just don't get it, Tim said "You can rest assure that we are not leaving here until we find Caylee". Yet in a matter of minutes he calls off the search, packs up and heads back to Texas!

I feel that ALL of us have been let down. We were there for her..bottom line. Now what do we do???

I too was surprised at the abrupt ending of the search and especially with such great turnout yesterday and today.
There have to be factors at play we do not know about. Please don't lose hope and faith on this baby girl's recovery.
Tim has said he will give advance notice of is next return and we pray you'll again volume to help out.
Thank you for putting yourself at risk for the service to others. There will always be heavenly rewards for people who give of themselves to help those who can't help themselves.

Tim and TES have been working with LE... I can only assume that LE is apart of the decision, too. TES has worked their tails off... I don't see how anyone can feel that they let people down... I don't.
(sorry if I sound snippy... I am peeved at how people want to jump on TES. I just finished reading the dream guy pointing fingers at TES for not sharing their info with psychic hunters... and how he has big stones he could throw at TES, as if to convey that Tim has something to hide. I'm sick of it... TES has given so much of their selves and time... they deserve nothing but RESPECT!)

Those saying he packed and left the area...do you mean he went home and how do you know this for certain? I can't find any information about it. Thank you!

No, definitely don't feel let down. At first, I was a little concerned. But, after adding things up, it really sounds like either:

1. Caylee evidence or body has shown up.
2. They have another missing person whose family REALLY WANTS the help.

Either case, no hard feelings on my part. I donated to TES, and I believe he stayed until he said he would, i.e., Caylee would be found.

Obviously he's not read Tim's story on TES. He specifically addresses certain things that are allowed or not allowed by people working with him. He was requested to stay by LEO after the family rejected their help. He had no obligations to tell anyone anything but LEO. He does not even allow anyone to contact 911 upon finding anything. There are very specific rules given to participants according to what is written. As he said in articles written about him, he's not an investigator or amateurdetective, he's a searcher. He also stated that anyone showing up with attitude and ego would be rejected or released. It has to be checked at the door.
If I recall Gale is the one who specifically said earlier she did not want anyone to know she was in the area. They work from a dream grid is my understanding while Tim & TES work with hi tech technology.
Obviously people across the country believe in him because he's got one of the most sophisticated resource networks available to a search group.

I think they have probably found her. Nowhere in his speech does he say they didn't but he DID say:

"We know where she's not"

How would you know that unless you knew where she WAS?

Later he says:

"I KNOW where she's at right now is not a place she chose to be, so when the conditions are better we're going to find this little girl"

I just have a feeling she may have been found... JMO

He didn't let anyone down. It's not like he said, "well we're out of $$, guess we'll head back home now - good luck!" You can tell from the video that this man cares DEEPLY about finding her. and you don't know that LE didn't ask him to call off the search, or what the exact reasons were for it.

I have to disagree with you and say that I do feel that a lot of us have been let down. Many of us have taken vacations, days off, time away from our own family in order to search for Caylee. Some of WS's have emailed countless radio stations, TV, etc in order to try and get volunteers to assist in the search for Caylee and in a blink of an eye that hope to find her was taken away from us. Many of us have given our HEART and SOUL into finding this little girl.

You are right I do not know what LE has said, I do not know if anything was found but IMO if she was found, why not continue to search until positive identification can be made?

I do not have to watch the video of Tim and how he cares for Caylee, I was there on Friday when he EXPRESSED how much he cared for her, you can see it in her eyes. He stressed to all of us this was about HER and not the family. Our focus during the search was to find Caylee and not to be "bad-mouthing" the family, that is why I find it very hard to understand why he just packed up and left. It is not like he scaled backed the operations he literally packed up everything and LEFT!

And as far as money, I do think that could have been a factor....Tim along with his assistants had to take time away from their jobs, family etc to come to Orlando to help a family who refused to help them. The expenses had to be getting astronomical. It cost money to eat, to get gas for the ATV's, Airboats, etc, for office supplies, for lodging, for the porta potty rentals, the van rentals and so on. The $5000.00 from OCSO was just a drop in the bucket.

It doesn't make sense that on Saturday you have 1200 searchers and more were coming (people were coming from all over the United States to help) and then the next day you pack everything and go home
citing "environmental conditions". I am sorry but I just don't believe it......but that is just my opinion.

I also believe he stayed until he said he would.

I also donated to TES and through a friend on Scared Monkeys who provided lunch and ice for them until TES got their paypal link up.

respectfully snipped

THAT satement above spoke volumes to me!!!

He also states the "ground search" is temporarily suspended, but that they might continue searching with small boats and sonar, etc to eliminate other areas. Why would he say that if he never meant it...? I don't know if they found her or not, but I'm strongly leaning towards not...hope I'm wrong.

ETA: By 'know where she's not'...probably talking about the areas they searched and ruled out...doesn't mean found. I also think he's said the other comment ('not where she wants to be') before today...a couple times, but I'm not certain.

Are you sure it happened this way??
" Yet in a matter of minutes he calls off the search, packs up and heads back to Texas! "

I dont think they found her yet, I think they may have found something, but "arent sure" or maybe Casey finally talked like the earlier poster said.
The reason I think they didnt find her or arent sure is, this story would have leaked for sure, with all those people around and news reporters!
I also would like to thank all the searchers for all their hard work.

I don't feel let down by Tim and TES. I am grateful for the time they spent here and all the work that they did. I do believe there may be more to the story than what he can tell us. I may be wrong too and it is as he stated it is. I have also thought about the fact that he and probably most of the team lives in Texas. Texas may get the impact of Ike and not FL, they just don't know yet. Maybe it was just a good time for him to take a break, regroup and take care of things at home as I'm sure they all need to do (just like us in FL) with the threat of a Hurricane approaching. I do want to hold on to hope that they found Caylee today, but really I can't second guess what is really going on no more than any one else can.

I can say that I don't feel let down at the least!

Please, can anyone help me with the following question? Several people are saying he packed up and left the area. Is this a known fact or a wild guess? I have tried to find the information and have not had any luck. If anyone can help, I greatly appreciate it. It's driving me nuts, lol.

I can understand how you feel, I do. I don't feel let down by Tim. I feel more sad that this poor girl it out there and hasn't been found--that's where I feel let down. Casey let everyone down, bottom line. Her grandparents let her down as well. That is more than heartbreaking, it's unbearable to even imagine.

I could only go out for a couple hours today and was looking forward to searching next week--I took almost the full week off from work to do this. I just hope that Tim and his team will come back, I have absolute faith that he's a man of his word.

The only thing that confuses me is it hasn't rained here in awhile, it's actually gotten better as far as searching goes--not to mention the momentum was just starting to pick up BIG TIME. We went from 100 searchers to over 1,000.

I watched the news tonight and the command center was all cleared out. They didn't say that the team left Orlando and back to Texas but there is nothing there anymore---so.

Ok, thanks so much. It's vague, but interesting.
