I know. Well the juror was forbidden to reveal anything specific including the number split on the division.

My interpretation:
They were not all twelve out of hope to reach a verdict. Therefore that message they were hung is not really dispositive, as ALL twelve must believe it is hopeless. Some portion of the jury may have pressured the rest to hang it up, but this juror at least no sooner got out than decided to not let it go. Good for him or her.

Wonder how much impending Christmas is influencing them to yield to the frustration and say they cannot get it done.

Yes, I think it's a huge influence. That plus the fact they've been there almost 6 months.
It sounds to me that there may be one stubborn, resolute holdout.
Wonder if it was the jury foreman that came forward?
Thank you for your calm and considered interpretation, Pua. I feel too emotional to be rational.

Rationality (or a reasonable facsimile) is my refuge when emotion is too painful. ;-)
Trust me, I'm shaking with emotion.

Court to reconvene at 2, per family post. It is almost 2.

Cardoza stated earlier that while earlier jury-court communications were not made public, it was because they were "not dispositive" -- and the ongoing important communications will all be public record.

I totally trust you.
Unfortunately my refuge is getting angry, then going numb and hiding in a bath. I don't recommend my approach.

They WILL go back to deliberations.
They also want two transcripts.
Anthony Earles
Nelson Hamilton
They cannot get the transcripts to them until next Monday.
Question right now is whether they will encourage or permit them to deliberate in the meantime.

Kapua, or anyone who recalls, Det. Earles and Hamilton testified to what, finding the physical evidence, where and what else?

Hmmm, is Apo nervous about the questions to be answered in those two transcripts? Why else would he want jury to continue deliberating until Monday 19th?

Excellent point. It is the first position he has argued today.

So, do we know what the judge decided about allowing deliberation to continue prior to receiving transcripts on Mon.? My live-stream abruptly ended before he decided.

How in the world did the jury deliberate for 9 days WITHOUT the testimony of Earles and Hamilton? What have they been reading?

There was another short clip but you couldn't understand what was said, the volume was way to low for the recording.

I was thinking the same...exact...thing.
Who is running this circus that transcripts of TESTIMONY are not readily available. Mamma, that bath is sounding better and better...

No wonder the jury is frustrated. I pray they regroup and take a deep breath and come to that guilty verdict. This is cray. I have followed two other major cases and some smaller cases since joining Chari's group. All have been done except for one where they just found the body. They found her when hope was beginning to fade so it gives me hope Charli and Joshua will be found.

Transcripts are produced on request only. They cost a lot of money, especially for trial transcripts, which are charged at a higher rate than hearings.

Court reporters here are like independent contractors, and they do not produce transcripts until they are paid by the requestor. And there are only a handful of reporters for every trial and hearing going on on Maui.

The more common way to access the content is to request the DVD video, but those are made pretty quickly, so I'm guessing they are using only paper transcripts for the jury.
