There's one thing that's been bugging me about this case.

Holly ' s mom somehow knew that the guy she was talking to wasn't her BF and that she was in danger. It seems like she knows something but never bothered to tell LE what she knew, and it's very odd that she was never questioned about it

How do any of us know she never talked with LE about it? I have no reason to believe she didn't. May I ask why you are saying she didn't talk to LE about it and where that information came from or is it a misguided assumption? I have never read in any MSM articles stating she withheld any information about anything from LE.

She may have known Holly's boyfriend was on another hunting property miles away from where Holly lived the morning she was kidnapped. Holly may have already told her mom the night before that Drew was going hunting the next morning. She and Holly were very close and its very normal for daughter's to tell their mom things about their boyfriend including their plans for a particular morning.

I don't think Holly's mom held anything back from LE and told them everything she could possibly think of to tell them just like any other mother of a missing daughter would.

Google Alert - sharing - this might be the same kind of article as the one posted above - but I already had it typed out - so posting! :eek:nline:

Holly Bobo Murder Trial Update: Key Witness in Case Might Be Lying
http://www.ibtimes.com/holly-bobo-murder-trial-update-key-witness-case-might-be-lying-2565862

The trial for one man accused of murdering Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo could hinge on the testimony of his friend—one whose credibility has been questioned by experts. Jason Autry negotiated a deal to testify against Zach Adams in the case, but his story has changed over the years.
Autry was set to be called to testify once Adams’ trial begins in September. But just a few years ago, Autry told reporters he had no idea what happened to Bobo. It seems his story has changed dramatically, a fact the defense will likely call into question.
[.....]
“No sir, right hand before God,” he said at the time. “The Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I didn’t bother that girl in no form or no fashion. Do you know who did? No sir.
“I don’t want to speculate and make a rumor of what happened to the girl.”
Autry also told the station at the time that he had denied multiple requests by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to testify against his friend.
“It was a try to be a forced move to get me to bear false witness against Zach Adams,” he said.
[.....]
Experts said it appeared Autry himself was the one who tipped authorities off to the location of the gun.

It isn't uncommon for a co-defendant in cases like this to deny, deny, deny any involvement and say they don't know anything about what the other co-conspirators did. That is what most of them do right after being arrested for the crimes.

But as we have seen before the closer the trial nears it can loosen lips even of co-defendants. Evidently JA thinks the state does have enough evidence on him that he could get the death penalty if convicted. If not he would have no motivation to be a state witness.

All criminals that agree to testify for the state have a lot of baggage, and I think most juries are aware of that, and that they may have denied at first they had anything to do with the crimes when they were actually lying through their teeth back then.

Of course the defense will try to diminish his credibility like they will do against anyone who testifies against ZA. JA will just be one of them. In the end, I feel the jury will believe what he will testify to in the trial and it will be inline with the other evidence/testimony presented.

JMO though

BBM: First: We have NO idea what Mrs. B -- or anyone else -- said to LE because this information has not been shared with the public. LE and the D.A.'s office have kept a tight lid on this case from the get-go, and what factual information we do have is from court documents, court hearings, and a couple of Pressers by the TBI/LE/D.A. Other than that, we have very little info to go on other than snippets here and there that have been made public.

Second: Could it be that just days prior to Holly's abduction, Mrs. B knew that Holly had been stalked by a couple of the A's at the coon hunt, and thought that these stalkers showed up her house to stalk/abduct Holly?

Maybe Mrs. B did NOT know the names of these stalkers/kidnappers, but I have no doubt that she would have told LE about the incident at the coon hunt where these criminals were stalking her daughter.

Also, both Holly and Mrs. B knew that her boyfriend was out hunting that morning, so it makes sense that she knew it was not her boyfriend because he was out hunting.

All JMO and :moo:

Sorry I've been MIA. Do we have a trial date?

:rose: JUSTICE for HOLLY!

Me too, Niner, me too! :)

But selfishly I am glad its September since my hubby, and I always go on our anniversary getaway in August. I sure wouldn't want to miss it after waiting this long.

I sure do miss the old "Court TV" for cases like this one. Also The Hailey Owens rape and murder case coming up in MO in October after a long wait.

I miss that old tv channel format as well. It was something different to tune in to when i got bored and there was an interesting case on.

cable bills continue to go up and the general tv shows and conglomerate of channels are trash these days imo.

Fox News today:

A total of six men were arrested for varying degrees of involvement in the case and three of them were charged in the kidnapping, rape*and murder of 20-year-old Bobo*—*including Jason Autry, who earlier this month was offered federal immunity in exchange for his testimony against one of his co-defendants, according to court documents.*

The offer means prosecutors are relying on Autry's testimony to convict Zachary Rye Adams, according to legal experts, who describe the case as "challenging" given the number of players involved and a potential lack of physical evidence.

"That means they need him desperately to convict the other guy," said David Raybin, a prominent criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor who helped write Tennessee code. "If they got an eyeball witness there, it makes for a better case."

"The bottom line is this: They've told him [Autry] that 'We won't prosecute you if you tell the truth,'" said Raybin, who is not involved in the case.

"You’re incriminating yourself but you get immunity from prosecution," Raybin told Fox News. "And usually under Tennessee law, if you are granted immunity and not prosecuted, that means you walk."

A spokesman for the Shelby County District Attorney's Office, which is prosecuting the case, would not confirm Friday whether federal immunity granted to Autry meant he would not be prosecuted on any of the charges. The spokesman deferred all inquiries to the office of the Circuit Court clerk in Hardin, Tennessee, which confirmed Autry had been granted immunity but said the documents did not say whether charges had been dropped or how prosecutors planned to proceed with the case. *

Fox News Today:

Raybin as well as Tennessee attorney Rob McGuire note several legal challenges in the case.

"It’s a complicated case because you have multiple criminal actors involved," said McGuire, a criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor.

"There is limited physical proof because of the delay between the killing and the time the body was discovered," McGuire told Fox News.

Both Raybin and McGuire said: "The question is who did what and when and to whom?"

Despite hurdles, the attorneys expressed confidence that justice could be served for Bobo, the cousin of country singer Whitney Duncan, whom friends and family described as sweet and smart.

"There’s no one thing that you have to have in any case to convict of anything," said Raybin. "On the other hand, you have to have proof beyond a reasonable doubt."*

"It can still be a strong case," added McGuire. "I do believe they can get convictions of people for the right crime and for the right reasons."*

Also from the same link:

The trial was originally expected to begin this month, but was postponed until September after one of Adams' attorneys requested more time to test a gun believed to be connected to the death of Bobo.

According to court documents the gun, listed as an Arminius model HW5 .32-caliber revolver, was recovered in May and introduced as evidence by the prosecution. It was reportedly found underwater and court documents indicate it is believed to be the murder weapon.

State Believes Holly Bobo Was Shot

SAVANNAH, Tenn. - Prosecutors made a stunning revelation on Wednesday morning, revealing for the first time since Holly Bobo dissapeared in 2011 that they believe the 19-year-old nursing student was shot before she died.

Judge C. Creed McGinley began hearing from defense lawyers and the prosecution at 9 a.m. Thursday in Hardin County.

Sorry I missed it, so catching up now.

...

Also during the hearing, the defense asked for another continuance of the trial with the hopes of delaying it until January; however, the judge said there was no way he could do that. He denied the motion to delay, meaning the trial was still set to begin on September 11.
