Except for the mention of blue eyes in the news report, this girl is sounding a lot like Sandra... 45lbs, 7y/o (in Jan), mom/grandmother in charge of her... hmmmm.
There may be indignation and repercussions, but I know of no case in the US where a police force has been held liable for failing to prevent a crime.
great catch! Wonder if Grandpa found some of his ativan missing?Wait stop the bus did you all catch this?
Along with the statement that snapdragon provided us we see Lane quoted as saying:
Do I see a rift? Looks like not all the Lawless' folk support MH? At least that is how I read into it.
Where is the smilie making the hex sign???? Dr Phil! PPPPUUUUllllleeeeaaase~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Egads Dr. Phil  that's all I will say sorry.
If Melissa was already diagnosed with bipolar disorder would she have been prescribed a benzo instead of something like abilify for mania or even lithium as a mood stabilizer? I wouldn't even think that an obsessive compulsive would be given these since they're given very short term and for anxiety. They're very addictive and no doctor should prescribe them to actually treat bipolar. She probably stole them, or an actual muscle relaxant as was reported to have been found in the child's system from a relative.

"Lawless says he has not seen his granddaughter since her arrest and he has no plans to visit her in jail."
Maybe he doesn't like her? Far more disturbing to me in that article, is the fact that the Dr. Phil Show is on the prowl in Tracy.
Oh I think I made a mistake I thought BPD was border line personality disorder? Good grief I need to go to bed, I didn't know it was bi-polar disorder....geez.
Even if Sandra was the girl drugged in January?? I am still not convinced it was not her. Too many similarities. the physical description is the same, withe the exception of blue eyes. and when MH was blabbing to the press before her arrest, she did speak of this event, saying the GRANDMA had MH's cell phone #, and the MOM was gone. Another 7 y/o (in Jan), 45lb, dark hair, in the care of Grandma and Mom in the same MHP? Just seems odd to me.
You are probably right about the lawsuit, but if I were Sandra's mom, I'd be pretty pissed and wanted some kind of explanation.

If I were LE I would be looking in the Lawless trailer for any of the bolded benzos. I think that Melissa would have used something close at hand/easy to use. Versed is out as it is injectible and used in hospitals for procedures and IV conscious sedation.
Over the last week I have pondered what mental condition Melissa may have been treated for, and coupled with the alleged cutting by her high school friend I wondered if she might have been bipolar. Food for thought... but there are many benzos that are used in the treatment of bpd including:

http://bipolar.about.com/od/benzodiazepines/Benzodiazepines.htm
cutting and bpd:

What is also interesting to note is that pyromania and cleptomania can occur during the manic phases of bpd. Melissa has engaged in both of these activities.....(((alledgedly))
amen (((salem)))! And looking at the timeline reported... cops accompany Lawless and said child back to her home with no arrests and a few hours later she is showing signs of being drugged and taken to the hospital! What if mom had a glass of wine or two in between the child coming home and showing signs... according to the article that I had posted earlier...will snip again... Le did not dismiss it because of the alcohol on the breath... in fact, iirc, that info came from a "neighbor" and his/her speculation that LE had dropped the ball..... but rather it was due to this:So --- if mom would not have called the police when she did, and the police would not have found the girl at the park - what would have happened to this girl? If, as Nursebee speculates, the drug was given to the girl shortly before police arrived, that means MH didn't have time to do much (thank God!). Also, what if the mom had not taken the girl to the hospital? She too might have died. Obviously, the girl acted like she was under the influence of something - did the doctor at the hospital give the child anything to counteract the benzos?
Man... this child was lucky, very lucky. On NG tonight they said the mother of this child had alcohol on her breath. My opinion of that is that even with alcohol in her system, this mom still acted appropriately and in the best interest of her child and may have saved her daughter's life by reporting her missing and/or taking her to the hospital.
Close calls like this really scare the bejees out of a person, ya know?
Salem
A few hours later, the family took the girl to a local hospital where a blood test showed she was under the influence of the muscle relaxant Benzodiazepines.
The child's mother reported the findings to police.
But police said they were not able to prove that Huckaby gave the girl the drugs due to the time that had passed before the girl was taken to the hospital.
it is not OT at all! And yes they are! We could all do a test run and go to our doc tomorrow to see what we are able to get right off the bat! It is amazing! You walk in and say I am anxious and need some medicine to help me... BAM! ATIVAN! You can say help me with my depression....BAM! ZOLOFT! Scary thing is that most of these are being perscribed by general practitioners and not psychiatrists. They are prescribed so freely they will be the next "purple pill". Scary thing is that they can have very adverse effects such as suicidal ideations and more. Very, very, very scary stuff!Nurse this is off topic...so please excuse everyone...but is it the community that I live in or is this also something in the civilian world...
Why are so many ppl being prescribed psychotropic drugs? Good grief, everyone I know is popping them like there is no tommorow (except me ) Seriously, I can name right off the bat at least 5 women that take these drugs...TIA for your insight as to why they are prescribed so often and so freely and if it's just this community.
Wait stop the bus did you all catch this?
