The other thing to take into consideration here regarding those other missing women is that while it may seem like a lot in the Chicago area, that metropolitan area has a population of nearly 10 million people. Every missing person is special to someone and certainly a tragedy, but with population of 10 million, it doesn't seem like there are an inordinate number of women missing. In both the case of Lisa Stebic and of Stacy Peterson, I am convinced that they are not related. The husbands seem like the culprits in each instance.

Nothing that Drew Peterson or his attorney does makes sense to me. Their thought processes are alien to normal people.

I just go back to Joel Brodsky's insistence that the found body was NOT Stacey...and he "guaranteed it". Why would he be so sure unless he had other information?

It's lawyer-speak. She ran off with a boyfriend. Brodsky likes to be on television and to make pronouncements. Brodsky doesn't know where Stacy is because Drew would never be stupid enough to reveal that to him. Drew has been in law enforcement for over 30 years and there is no way he would do that. Drew's story is that Stacy ran off with another man and he is sticking to that until the day he dies, and Brodsky is backing him up. Period.

Drew can and probably will be charged without a body in this case on an indictment from the Grand Jury. All of the sideshow antics that he and his defense team come up with...won't be enough to suggest to anyone seated on a jury that this woman left on her own and that he is going to be so cavalier about it!! He has already proven himself to be the controlling, abusive husband. There is simply no way she would leave with another man and him not be in fits of rage here like it doesn't matter to him or his overinflated ego. Not going to happen!!

Do you think he'll be charged in the prior Savio homicide? Shades of the dentist in Atlanta? He was charged w/ the prior homicide FIRST even though it was years before and deemed a suicide then. He copped a plea though...thoughts? Barton Corbin was that wife killer's name.

katie:

I know your not asking me that question on your post, but SS.

But want to add my two cents worth.........IMO I think DP will be charged with Kathy's homicide.

But I think the ISP and CPD would like to charge him with Stacy's homicide very soon thereafter. IMO, they are hoping that either Stacy's body will be found or that DP will slip up.

But I am sure that SS will provide much more compelling answers than I did too! :)

martin:

I (we) appreciate your concern about the other cases, but this is NOT the place to post all that information.

I think maybe I can start a new thread that you can post that information to if that's okay with you?

In the meantime.........don't post anymore info unless it has to do with Stacy on this thread!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the GJ will find there is enough to try him in both cases. The circumstantial evidence is more compelling in the Savio case, imo. He could be charged with it first.

If he is charged and convicted in Kathleen's...will it help Stacy's case? If he is charged in Stacy's first and convicted...will that be more beneficial to a conviction in Kathleen's?

The District Attorney's Office has some difficult decisions ahead even after the GJ hands down their decisions...providing there ARE indictments against Drew.

martin:

I set up a thread for you............

would you please take your information over there????

Thanks!! Just possibly one of them could be the remains that were found today..

I can see you care as much as I do about missing people, but certain procedures have to be followed here on WS, or else we get the mods after us! :)

We should really check to make certain we already have threads for those missing women in the proper forum tho. : )

I've never believed that Stacy just up and ran off, or anything else coming from DP's mouth ~ but ~ the DA only gets one chance to get a conviction. Do you think he'll try to do it without evidence?

I think that the DA's office is thinking that they want to go ahead on Kathy's case first because there is more evidence there than in Stacy's disappearance without a body found yet.

That being said, I'm sure there is no time frame for when an idictment can be brought against DP for Kathy's murder and they are just holding off to see if ISP can bring any information to link DP to Stacy's disappearance.

IMO

Panthera~ I believe the DA has evidence. I also believe by the time the Grand Jury is finished and hands down their decision...more evidence will have been found.

I am wondering when the last time those frozen grounds, where this body was found, were gone over. The date they were being checked, and IF it is an area that is checked on a regular basis.

Which would mean it was a 'recent' kill, ya think? SO would this be a VERY recent missing person, seems like that would be a reasonable assumption. Not many murderers keep their victims for lengthy amounts of time. cept maybe Jeffrey Dahmer.

.

I will have to find it, but there was a website started by a retired Detective who only listed cases tried without a body. It was quite interesting.

In his interview with Greta on Thursday night, Ric Mims talked about his appearance that day before the grand jury. He reported that the grand jury was going to be meeting for another four months on the Savio and Peterson cases.

I think both the grand jury and LE is going to take their time in building these two cases, and hoping that in the next four months, Stacy's remains will be found.

If Stacy was put into any body of water, perhaps her remains will be discovered in the spring like Laci Peterson's body was found.

camper:

But the body was described as "badly decomposed"

Wouldn't that negate the "recent" thought??

I would have to assume this isn't an area that is checked regularly, Camper. Until the autopsy results determine a COD and give a possible timeframe for this woman to have been killed...it is very sketchy.

I would consider it fairly recent. If the body was intact enough to be having this discrepancy in the media...I wouldn't think the body could have been exposed for very long before being frozen. (In other words, we would be hearing about a skeleton and not the decomp.)
