Biking around a blind curve and almost colliding into the bikes makes you wonder abt them being grabbed right there. The perps could have been caught by any biker because they couldn't see who was coming.
Do cars drive down that bike path? Or motorcycles maybe?

No motorized vehicles allowed, but people don't always follow the rules. LOL That would be a big gamble, but?

(not being critical; just don't get it) will someone please explain to me why all the fundraising events?
what is the money being raised for? I have not seen the reward money increased, so where is it going and for what purpose?

I know the FBI provides counseling for the family now and also for when the girl do come home, so it can't be that? The FBI also provides any necessary medical care.

thank you

On the 5:00 coverage on our local channel (KWWL) they were very clear (this time) as to where the money was going from the fundraiser: 1/3 to the Collins family, 1/3 to Lyric's guardian (the grandma), and the other 1/3 to the missing children's fund. I believe past funds went to the two girl's parents, so it's interesting that now Misty's mother is getting 1/3 instead of Misty getting it.

I think LE should get it to offset some of the search costs.

:dunno:

I have finally come up with a solution to the moved bikes - it might not be what happened, but it is a solution. The girls could have dropped the bikes on the path to go check out something on the other side of the fence. When they got to around the place where the purse was found, TG rode by and cussed because of the bikes blocking the path. They may have gone to move the bikes, and Elizabeth dropped her purse - leaving it there because she planned to just move the bike and return.

If someone saw them there and thought they may have also been seen or the owner of whatever they were checking out came back, they could have been taken before they ever got back to the purse.

I know this leaves a lot of unknowns, but I guess all theories do at this point.

Link? I'd be really interested to know if he is a reporter for WCF. Thanks.

From what I can find online, he does not work for the Courier. He is a salesman at a local business.

:sheesh: I hate to say it, but this one feels cold to me. I don't see anyone acting outwardly defensive, (anymore). Odds are, the perp has been spoken to by LE and it is probably someone who has come across our radar. If there was evidence confirming someone's involvement, I think that there would either be an arrest by now, or someone's lawyer publicly poo-pooing LE's investigation.

It has been a month. Plenty of time for testing of evidence and evaluation of results. MOO

:snail:
:waiting:

I agree that the statistics say that LE has probably got the name of the perp by now unless he's like Joseph Duncan, who specialised in grabbing kids in places he had no ties to.

However, LE doesn't necessarily know who that person is. Could be one of the volunteer searchers, could be someone whose house or car they searched, could be any one of a lot of people who have been spoken to by LE but are not in any way a suspect.

If LE isn't acting suspicious of the perp, I doubt they would lawyer up or comment in any way to the media.

Kinda sounds like a perfect storm.

Maybe, but I'd still like to know why they are looking at surveillance tape only a few blocks from the lake 1.5 hours after the assumed abduction time.

I still feel like we are missing a big piece to this puzzle.

MOO

Maybe because that was the only vehicle that was not identified during that 3.5 hour window?

Yep, except Misty is living with her mother so I guess she still is getting the benefit. I wonder if Dan is living there, or not. When Lyric was going to run away days before her disappearance, it was because the father had gotten onto her about her chores and the grandmother consoled her. He was also there when Lyric came back and Misty said she was calling the police. So it's not been told if he was living there a few days before the disappearance and when she disappeared. They said he was at his mother's that day.

He was called (at his mother's house) and told that she was missing, and he suggested calling the police. He has been living at his mother's house, and there's been nothing that states that he was at WC's house when Lyric got upset about him reprrimanding her for not doing her chores.

I wouldn't think we are supposed to sleuth him either. ??

Sorry, didn't think I was. Someone was curious to know if he had a connection to MSM. Note I didn't include the company just his occupation.

Re: Chores DM's mother said something about the girls (I think) doing housework at her house...in the interview she gave that is on Youtube. MOO

In the picture where the gate is and where the drainage pipe is, weren't there police cars parked all up and down what I believed to be the bike path? Please, no darts! I have a problem with directions too.

You know, I'm all for posting links and all that, but come on, can't anyone Google anymore? I recognized his name from articles he has written for the paper. I do not have a link that says "Craig Ceilly is a reporter for the WCF Courier".

Since the article mentions he is a family friend and speaking on their behalf, IMO I don't think it particularly matters where he works. The only reason I mentioned his occupation was in response to someone's question in a prior post.

BBM

My google skills must be slipping. I didn't find him on the WCF site but thought I found him as a salesman. Anyway, I agree it doesn't matter and I'll take your word for it. Thanks.

I think it is highly likely the girls were in the wooded area when TG rode past.

I made this video of one of the suggested possible routes. After making this, it seems so far away no matter what route. I have always been going with the theory that they were taken at the lake right where the bikes were found, but it is seems so far for someone to bike to when they knew they had to leave with Grandma at a set time.

evansRoute mp4only - YouTube

That would be about a 15 minute round trip on a bicycle if they didn't start lollygagging about. They knew Grandma wasn't leaving until 1:30 pm, so if they left at 1 pm or earlier, they'd have plenty of time.

I think they may have been pushing the boundaries a bit, seeing if they could put one over on Grandma. If the Cornbelt Auctions tape caught them as they were leaving the area around the house, they had more than enough time to make the round trip if they didn't dawdle.

I fear that giving it to Grandma is the same as giving it to Misty. I guess we'll find out when and if we get reports about gambling, getting nails done, on and on like we heard before and what probably got the bank account frozen that housed donations for her.

I agree, donations should go to repay LE as I would imagine they didn't have a large budget to start with.

Do you have a link for that???

:what:

cinder, Jax was answering a question for me. Craig has been mentioned in MSM, and I remembered his profession was given, but didn't remember exactly what it was. If he had been a reporter, especially one working for a paper that is so actively reporting on the case.. struck me as a little conflicting.
