We've been discussing two RSO's. The one I said looked familiar is the one located by Dr.Know, and I can guarantee you I've never seen a psychic's sketch. I thought I'd seen his name and picture in connection with something else, but I must be mistaken because I've looked everywhere and can't find him other than his mugshot.:banghead:
 
I sometimes "lurk" on another forum, and someone from here must be a member on it, because they are now discussing the same info that was posted here by chelsea6.:what:

I wish there was some way to determine if this RSO owns or has access to a vehicle.

I just looked at Heather's FB page - she is showing amazing strength, IMO.

For those that have facebook there is a facebook page dedicated to crime in the cedar valley area...people are much more open with their comments and things they say because the mods don't delete anything or anybody unless it's a pedophile defender.. (sick people).. anyway they post the RSOs and other crimes as well. It's a good site to lurk on.. it's interesting to see local connections and who defends who for what crimes...

Also we have a couple MSM articles stating the autopsies are completed... usually before the autopsy is done funeral arrangements have been made for the victim (s). I find it interesting that these girls parents do not yet know when their are getting their girls back to bury them.. I gleaned that from facebook postings.. So i wonder if that means only the ME down in Ankeny was fnished with HIS autopsy and the FBI wanted to do their own or what....

I was looking at the pictures on this site and came across this on one of the offender's picture comments. "Ped village is that old motel out by bertch cabinets and the casino. They flock together out there" Do you or anyone else know where this is? And thanks for the site!

Wow. I had not seen this letter since I stopped following the girls' story in September. Boy, my heart goes out to the family. I am grieved for them. I am not bashing them at all, atleast I don't intend to, but speaking as a therapist, this was a really bad letter. I can totally see how this would infuriate an abductor and cause him to have to do something with the energy created by his anger. OF COURSE I'm not blaming the family. Of course no one is responsible except the perp. or perps. Of course I have no idea if the girls were killed before or after this letter or if the perp./perps. have even seen this letter; but, every action has the potential to instigate a reaction, and I can see how a person who has no empathy, who cares only about self-gratification, and who is already sick, twisted, prideful, etc. would lash out to the Collins. He probably hates every good thing that they stand for.

Yes that is the motel I'm referring to. 218 & shaulis. I'm a few miles away though.

DM was offered a plea deal as of 12 July. The way those usually happen is that the defence attorney makes what is called a proffer to the prosecutor. A proffer is an outline of the sort of information the defendant might hypothetically offer in return for a reduction of charges, sentencing or both. The proffer doesn't usually include enough specific information to arrest anyone else and it's not due cause, either. It's all phrased in hypotheticals.

It isn't until the plea deal is accepted that the defendant has to give up the specific information alluded to in the proffer.

Dan Morrissey hadn't accept the plea bargain yet, so he had not given up the specific information as of 12 July, when he decided to turn it down. From a LE point of view, the proffer was no more than a fairy tale.

Anyone likely to feel endangered by DM would have been feeling very relieved and grateful the evening of 12 July because he was not going to give up his specific information.

After the girls disappeared, DM decided to give all the information he had to LE in the hope that it would lead to finding the two girls.

Whoever might have been threatened by what DM knew would have been the girls' bodyguard if they could see into the future! It was greatly to those hypotheticals disadvantage for the girls to disappear like that because it pretty much guaranteed that DM would stop looking for a plea deal and just give up the information.

I am troubled also by the account of the domestic violence incident but I keep two things in mind. One, we haven't heard DM's side of the story; right now, it is she said only. I'm not saying I believe MC is a liar but it's very common for two different people to have two different versions of the same event and for both people to believe their own version.

Two, even if it is true as known now, were there any mitigating circumstances? We don't know.

All I really know is that DM is in a position I would never wish on anyone. It is in the natural order of life for parents to die before their children. It is very sad but to an extent we are all prepared for that. I don't think anyone is prepared for their child to die before them and there is absolutely nothing that can prepare someone for that possibility.

Thank you very much for explaining all of that. I did not know that is how things went with a plea bargain. It does shed a different light on things when you explain it like that and I do realize we can't believe everything that is reported by the media.
 
I have seen that happen on other cases. There is alot of crossover between forums that follow crime I have noticed. I tend to stick with this one but its because I discovred sleuthing and crime forums here at WS and got very spoiled. I have lurked over at val's during the anthony trial tho.

'K, in regards to all of the Dr, Ave, Blvds, St, Rds... did I miss any? Anyway, I punched in 601 Gilbert St, and it takes me to north of Dubuque Rd, then changed it to 601 Gilbert Dr. and it takes me to the one down by Meyers Lake, just west of the Fire/Police station.

It's kind of funny... the first one, up north of Dubuque Rd... the little marker points at this weird looking shed thingie, the one south on Gilbert Dr has a marker on an actual house. If this addy is related to an RSO... lock him in the little shed thingie... nevermind.

Yes, it's not very far from evansdale.. 10 minute drive at most depending on 380/218 traffic
