I'm not saying TG is right or wrong, I'm just moving past the 2:20 time and focusing on the 12:30 to 1:00 time per Smock. In thread #26 I asked how long it would take to get from Gilbert to Myers lake only because I viewed a picture on of a poster on a telephone pole with the 12:30 to 1:00 pm time mentioned. I wondered, would LE allow tons of posters to be put up if this time was not verified by them? Because of this I had felt that, yes the girls did bike to the lake, and that didn't mean they were bad kids for not listening to their parents rules, they were just being kids.

Personally, I consider the times provided by LE to be reliable information. I don't think LE just threw random times out to the public in an effort to generate tips. I believe they have valid information that leads them to believe the girls were seen at 12:15, approx. 12:23, and 12:30-1:00. JMO
Two bikes were supposedly seen at approx. 12:20 by TG. However, since he didn't see the girls, he could not identify the bikes, and LE has not included his sighting in their timeline, I see no reason to do so either. As far as I am concerned, this is a non-issue.

No he hasn't stopped. He posts and reposts day after day. I think he is significant because of all the connections I have found to the family. But this is all rumor and MOOOO, JMO etc.
Someone asked a while back for our ideas of the killer. I think he's psychopathic, delusional, has fantasies of murdering and abducting which he has shared with other people. He has a difficult relationship with family, mostly his mother. He is around family sometimes, but then disappears for long periods of time. He struggled in high school, used a lot of drugs, lived outside of the family home, partied a lot locally. He has a learning disability, like dyslexia. He seems kind of sweet and sad, very sensitive. He has a small circle of friends who know about his darker side, and they can't believe such a nice guy would have such violent and disturbing interests, but don't believe he would ever act on his fantasies. He's recently divorced. That was a blow. He's also had a string of get-rich quick schemes that have failed and landed him back in low-paying jobs. He divides his time between Iowa and another state--someplace totally different, more sophisticated and amazing (like Florida!) and was in Waterloo the weekend the girls went missing and then headed back to Florida. He knows the family and hates religion and has a lot of bitterness and anger toward people who believe in God. He describes himself as being a sociopath, lacking the ability to feel empathy, but he is able to make his very few friends think he's an OK guy. They kind of feel protective of him, in fact, because he's just had some hard times and is really struggling.

This one doesn't say 'riding their bikes', only that the girls were seen then. Isn't there another quote stating they were seen on their bikes too at these times?
This sounds a lot like a guy I read about in a link in an earlier thread. It sounds to me like you have done quite a bit of research:rocker:.
Yes. I called it into the tipline a while back with everything I knew and they called me back the next day to follow up.

I'm not that amazing, that is a picture from goggle earth, it is supposed to show what the area would look like IF we had satelite capability to spot things or record back. The vehicle was put there to show what we could of maybe caught. But the idea that the killers vehicle could of been parked just like that is spooky.
Thanks for bringing that over for me, went through threads 25, 26, and 27 and didn't want to return to thread land again

Does anyone have more on this sighting? Could this be the video time adjusted?
I wonder who spotted them at the intersection on Brovan, very close to home. Were they just riding around the neighborhood?
Did they decide to head for the lake even though they needed to be home by a certain time for an appointment? I would guess a trip towards the lake and back would take at least a half hour, maybe more.
I assume Mr. C spotted them near his home between 12:30-1:00.
Then what? Where did they go? Who did they encounter?
IIRC, family headed to the lake to look for them.

According to the map I looked at, Brovan has two intersections - River Forest Road on the west end and Sipple Avenue on the east end. There is a bank not too far away from Sipple, and I wonder if the girls were seen by someone who had just made a deposit or withdrawal at the bank and had a time-stamped receipt.

Going back to the "way back" wasn't there a video in question from a bank?
Plausible IMO. I would guess banks have many cameras. :waitasec:

I remember a subpoena for video from a bank. I'll see if I can find a link to that somewhere.
I don't know how far it is from the Brovan/Siddle intersection and the nearby bank. It may be too far away to be captured on any of the bank's cameras. Maybe a local can provide insight?

I don't know if I shared this with you all before, but if I did I don't remember. The reason why I'm so passionate about this case is not only because it is close to home and there are two children involved but also because of what happened to me when I was about Lyric's age. SanDiego, California in the late mid 70's, I was a carefree kid, would walk a mile to take the transit bus to the beach alone on many occasions, rode my bike blocks maybe miles from my house. Walked many many blocks thru rough neighborhoods to school and back. I guess you could say I was street smart.
One occasion while on my way to school alone not but a block away from my house, a red pinto car pulled up along side me, a man rolled down his window and asked me if I wanted to make a some money. I ran home and told my dad. Another time on my way to the store for my mom again alone a truck pulled up with two men in it and asked if I would f..k them. Remember I was only 10. I ran home.
When I was 13 my mom had a yard sale and I was watching it for her, I had on my bikini which was very common to run around in in California. A man pulled up in a VW bug, and approached me with a smile. He talked to me for awhile then said how beautiful I was and that he works for Sports Illustrated magazine as a photographer and that he wanted to take my picture. I was so excited, and took his buisness card,I told him I would have to ask my mom first. He said, "sure I will talk to her also if you want me to". He left and said we would meet again soon. My mom and dad threw a fit and said no way was I going to this guys place and have pictures taken. I gave my mom his buisness card that he gave me. On the card his name was Ted. Yup, it was Ted Bundy the serial killer. I will never forget that day, we didn't find out who he was until much later, he had already gotten arrested. I wish I kept that buisness card.
