I am somewhat struck by the closing paragraph in the above:

I seem to be talking to myself. hehe Anyway, I want to know if the Sheriff's Dept has had a profile done on the suspect(s) in this case? I want to know if they believe these crimes were done by a pedophile(s), a loner, a serial killer, revenge killing, drug involvement......whom, what, why??? Was any forensic evidence found...DNA of possible perp(s)? Maybe not give us all these answers, but at least a bit to stir up tips.

None of the above is known, so far as I know ... LE has not released any info.

It is very sad I can't imagine having a classmate murdered and nobody arrested for it. I hope the children and parents in the community are coping with the difficult situation as well as they can and remaining vigilant. It worries me that summer is coming up children are carefree and they and their parents let their guard down and the killer strikes again. I hope so badly this doesn't happen.

I feel the same way Greg! Remaining vigilant is what people are going to have to do in order for another abduction to not be successful. I just can't seem to shake the feeling that it is not a question of IF this will happen again to the people Evansdale/Waterloo/Black Hawk county, but WHEN. . . .

I think they do have a general profile of who could have done this because the parents of the girls put a letter in the local paper directly to the abductor in November (the girls had not been found yet). I don't think that could have been prepared if there was no idea of who they were appealing to. They have kept the forensic tests and cause of deaths secret to protect the investigation. I understand that. Personally my own opinion is there was unfortunately very limited evidence found when the girls were discovered. I don't think finding them moved the investigation forward apart from them knowing they were now looking for a murderer(s) not an abductor anymore. The date of death on the grave headstone of one of the girls I saw in a photo here indicates the girls died soon after they were taken. Their remains were obviously exposed to the elements and wildlife for months destroying valuable evidence. I don't think they will release any information about this terrible crime unless it would help them arrest someone.

What has occurred in Ohio is wonderful, yet alarming that it was going on for so long and LE was clueless. The case makes one realize that the perp can be anyone, a sociopath can wear many faces. I feel that the killer of our girls lives amongst the community and when he is caught it will be a shock to a lot of people. A shock because they never would of suspected such a nice man doing such a dirty deed.

I also think that there will be another abduction this summer. Have you noticed that there seems to be no arrest made in the recent attempted abduction. Geez, if they cannot track a black windowless van, with half the license plate number then I give up.

I think the least they could do would be to give a the profile IF they have one. I'd hate to think this case is never going to solved.

DUNKERTON, Iowa —A Dunkerton teen has been arrested for crashing a gate at a Black Hawk County park.

Cindersoot do you know of any other girls that have gone missing in recent years in Iowa or have been killed? I just wondered if you knew of any and they could be linked. It's hard to believe that this case is the perp's first time and he kills two girls at the same time.

The other kids are from the Des Moines area, Johnny Gosh and another boy. I talked about some girls that were murdered in the 70's earlier. The killer never found.

This is the first case of this magnitute that I know of that media has been so silent. It's as if it's forgotten. This has to of made the perp very happy and relaxed. Maybe that's what LE wants.

Hate to even go there, but it may be one of their own. Who knows more about covering up? Could this be the reason they were "selected" to be in the study? The reason NOONE is talking if they did know or had suspensions?

This community has more pedophiles than are just listed on the RSO. These families know whom in their families hurt children. I long for the day when families stop protecting these monsters.

Has LE kept their focus on the family, or have they since expended this investigation? I keep thinking to myslef, "Why couldn't this monster(s) be from a neighboring state?" I grew up in Omaha, and as a child we used to go swimming during weekend summers in the Waterloo area. Many members of my extended family know this area well, which is 250 mi outside of Omaha.
