How scary for this teen! Thank God she did not get raped by FIVE males! Oh, the thought of it frightens me to all means. And yes, even worse things could have happened to her. I hope they are able to provide more info about the perps such as: race, age, vehicle, facial/bodily features, language (speak English/Spanish), etc.

It seems the Houston, TX area (even though so big) has an attempted abduction on a weekly basis here lately! What in the heck is going on here! Thankfully, children are being educated and this needs to continue and be reinforced. Scary to be a kid now days .... just scary. JMO

In Myrtle Beach, SC, Heather Elvis has been missing since mid-December. A few weeks ago, they arrested a couple for her murder although they do not have a body. The interesting thing is, people are still organizing and manning "tip booths" to get tips, sell wristbands, etc. And I'm sure just general conversation - ie gossip - about the case. But who knows what might come of it. People are still talking and comparing notes. I wish something like this happened for our girls.

IMO it's fairly hard to notify the public of anything with what they have to work with.

The suspects are black males. No other description was given by the victim.

What more can they do when the victim gives them nothing? Descriptions such as Black male, White male, Hispanic male etc. is zero help whatsoever in locating a perp.

Best bet would be to take her back to the area in an unmarked vehicle (or with her parents/whomever) and look for these guys in the area and point them out if she recognizes even one as being there. Pull him in and maybe he'll cave and rat out who else was there. Maybe not. But what she gave them to work with I am not sure what more they could possibly do.

I also strolled over to Iowa courts to check out the latest on MM. She has court for one of her latest possession charges 3/31. Her orginal charges have a court date in April.

JS plead guilty 3/18 & got a slap on the hand for charges just like Dan's. Both had long careers being in court. DM's may have been a little more, but it wasn't JS's first rodeo by far. He had two charges dismissed, and plead guilty to POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (SRMS) and gets suspended jail but sentence is 90 days suspended, some fines also. POSSESSION OF EPHEDRINE (FELD) & POSSESSION OF LITHIUM (FELD) dismissed. Maybe because Dan plead guilty to them already.

Interesting. JC I have no idea about. He's not listed via BOP (FED) inmate locator.

Misty had long since given up being a mum. Her drugs came first so we can't be surprised that they still do.

She still has a living child who is watching every step she takes, straight past him to go party, then on to jail.

Zero sympathy from me. Less than zero.

I have sympathy for Misty. I think she was focusing on getting her life back in order. I think she was struggling hard for Lyric to have a normal childhood. She looks like a completely different person from two years ago. Her child is dead. She allowed Lyric to go with her mother to her sister's house. It was her first day back to work at a real job. I cannot but think that Misty was trying. She was trying and her child was taken from a place she never dreamed she would be taken. Evansdale was the safer community, I assume by what I have read regarding Waterloo and the Silk Road.

His eyes are dead.

Frederiksen was the live-in boyfriend of Evelyn's mother. The trial has been moved from Floyd County due to pretrial publicity.

Frederiksen is being held in the Bremer County Jail.

Yes, the Waterloo PD press release from March 13, 2014, did describe the perps as black males. Doubt this was the five's first brush with the law. Child abduction is a very serious felony. I'm sure the victim likely got a view of at least two of them. A well trained forensic sketch artists can pull info from a victim that they didn't know they had.

This is the March 12, 2014, msm article that I had read, the race of the perps was not mentioned. How does an ms media article pre-date the WPD press release?

Yes, Squeeze, awareness and an involved community is critical in missing/murdered persons investigations, before and after arrests..
HE's family who owns a sign/print shop purchases ink by the barrel, & with the tremendous community support and awareness, combined with the resources of the many LEAs in the newly formed task force and CUE. HE & the Elvis will be insured justice, imo..

What about the friend that Lyric was talking with at the park the week before she vanished - the park near her grandmother's house. Was he black? I seem to recall that Lyric and her older cousin (by a year or two) met someone at the park on the day that they were late. This is the same day that police were called about Lyric missing, but she turned up just in the nick of time.

Did police ever identify the person that the children met at the park prior to the disappearance?

I don't think the person Lyric and her cousin met at the park was ever publicly identified. I don't think this has any bearing on what happened to Lyric and Elizabeth. However I have always been curious about how this was described by the family. I always felt Lyric was on some kind of errand when she came home late. JMO

Ran across this 3 decade old cold case while researching. Although unrelated to EC & LC's abduction/murders, the POI; serial child killer David Elliot Penton, has many parallels to Michael Klunder, imo. If not for MJK's 2 decades in prison, his victim total would have been double digits, imo..

Penton, a mechanic who drifted from Ohio to Texas, is being held in Ohio for the abduction and murder of a 9-year-old Ohio girl. In addition, he has confessed to the Dallas-area cases.
Officials in Texas and several other states are investigating the possibility Penton may be in-volved with other unsolved child disappearances after cellmates claimed he bragged about killing more than 50 children.

Jason Stolfus, former partner in crime with Dan was a rapper and was discussed previously. He, like Dan, was facing some pretty heavy charges. I haven't seen anything about him or his charges, but is he still high on my list of suspects .
