CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) --Cedar Rapids Police have issued an Operation Quickfind in an effort to locate three young children who went missing last night.

Also, looks like only about 10 SO's on Evansdale city map data. TC, Klunders buddy, is on it but when you click on more detail it doesn't have him listed. Guess they might run the SO's out of Evansdale! I would.

My wonderful cat Dusty died unexpectedly on Saturday. In an effort to keep my mind occupied I've been watching true crime shows on Netflix. So many cases seem to be cold until one bit of information pops up and ties everything together. Maybe someone comes forward and admits to giving someone a false alibi. Or a forensics test provides useful info. I hope something like that happens in this case. I would hate to see Lyric and Elizabeth on a show about unsolved murders

Oy vey, I see his name in the article & title as Fitz and Fritz. Interesting history on the Fitz name though. My apologies as it could be a relative possibly if they correct the article.

Leighton Fritz, 25, was wearing a bullet-proof vest and armed with several weapons when he came out of his home at 413 College Ave. Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said Fitz refused to obey commands from officers on scene. They said he reached for a weapon and refused to drop it when ordered. (video title also says Fitz)

No biggie. I had checked the obit, so I knew it was Fitz, but then as I posted the link, I saw the two spellings. Could be a cousin, I suppose. Not a very common name.

I know, this is rather disturbing. The guns were locked up in a safe in a locked room. The owner is a former cop. My daughter stayed in this house once for a sleepover (different owners). As far as the kids, my son tells me he's not surprised from what he's heard. One was recently arrested for DWI. They are from decent families, live in decent neighborhoods.

Scary! :scared: And they are all so young - likely sent into a facility similar to MJK. Will be out in no time, and much wiser as to how the system works :scared: :notgood:

To Marilyn: So sorry to hear about Dusty! I know you gave him the best home he could ever hope to have on this earth and he gave you unconditional love :heartbeat: :hug: !!
 
One of the parents works in an attorney's office, so I'm sure he will get the best representation possible.

Nope. Must still be waiting on those DNA tests. :facepalm:

Cripes, what's it gonna take to get those tests done? :banghead: I find it extremely hard to believe that this crime wouldn't have warranted an expedite to the top of the "to do" pile. I also don't believe that funding to perform the tests should be an issue given the amount of $ raised for the girls.

I personally can't think of ONE reason, given the amount of time passed, that these tests weren't completed.

They know. If he was the guy they'd have already released it and closed the case by now. They can't possibly delude themselves that the general public is stupid enough to buy the story that they are still waiting on DNA testing. I also don't buy that they are witholding the evidence to keep "the real perp" in the dark thinking that Klunder is still on the table.

Even a fool would know that IF it was a match it would have been announced. I really hope LE doesn't think they are fooling anyone.

Or maybe they are going to pull the "unable to positively rule him in or out" card. They like to use that one too.

So in essence they have tossed the general public two bones to play with - Klunder (which I never got the feeling that LE even thought he was their guy), and the Mysterious Older White Suv.

No news is good news, right? :)
