I think about Abby and Libby every day and am stunned they don't have an arrest. LE knows so much ( cause of death etc.) Yet here we are almost 18 months later, even with audio and a pic. That man is staying very well hidden and was probably wearing a disguise. Let's pray they find Mollie soon.
if the have dna they should send it into 23 and me like for the golden state killer

HLN reported spoke with husband and wife neighbors of Mollie. I'll paraphrase until we get a video.

250-300 folks showed up to search. They were divided into groups of 40 with a leader. Searched railroad tracks, farm buildings, sloughs, ditches. Then that afternoon they were directed by LE to corn fields walking arm distance apart all the way across the fields. Wife said it was so very creepy, afraid of what they might find and how they all emerged at the same time like Children of the Corn. They both feel, and most towns folks feel, that Mollie is alive and being held nearby. She implied cautiously it was a sex crime. Wife said the dogs were well fed and watered.
Is anyone on the thread local? Looking at Google Maps and Wikipedia, the town is small in area as well as population. IMHO, they need to get three teams of cadaver dogs back out there and search the town as thoroughly as possible. If she's not there, someone has taken her farther away. And that is looking more and more likely. There's U.S. 6 to the north and I-80 to the south. She could be long gone.

We who were involved in the Holly Bobo case never gave up hope that she was alive somewhere and of course that she was safe and maybe even had a form of Stockholm's syndrome or had the wiles of Emily Smart. (ETA Holly WAS smart but she never had a chance...what all really happened to her will probably go unknown but it was unhuman and if it were my daughter or anyone at all, I would've rather been insured the death was very fast.) :(
We know how families hold on forever until they get an answer, and I join them in their hopes and prayers.
On another thought before I hit the actual road again, with the fair opening and the plans Molly had to accompany kids there, it does get me to thinking once again about all the vehicles that come with a fair.
There are all kinds of animal carrying trucks, maybe cattle-haulers, pig haulers, horse haulers, not to mention those that set up the rides and everything else. The food vendors with permits. Especially the local ones.
They were either already setting up at this point, finished doing so, or parked at a rest area or truck stop.
These bigrigs that are involved often have "escort" vehicles and many have friends or family following them. They don't want to be stuck at the fair 24-7 anymore than most of us would.
Just saying once again...

Dear Chihuahua,

Thank you so much for sharing your valuable insights on these threads.

You are greatly appreciated!

I think about them all the time, too. I'm a fellow Midwesterner, so these cases hit especially close to home for me - literally. I pray and will continue to pray that all victims have their perpetrators brought to justice to the fullest extent.

Odd, indeed, but it was obvious by their facial expressions and restraint how so many thoughts were coursing through their brains while they attempted to make sense of the situation. The father reminded the bf that people don't want to know what they feel, they want to know about MT.

I'm certain it is quite difficult to reluctantly accept a particular likelihood of such a case while attempting to maintain and articulate for a positive outcome.

If there is a POI...and I am not seeing it...jmo it has to be someone they can physically see, otherwise they very much should have been able to track such a person by now to whatever “secret place” he might be using. It is impossible for me to believe that LE can’t locate a person within two weeks these days...everyone uses some device, cash machine, credit card, etc...all jmo but this seemingly dormant period we are seeing says they do NOT have a POI or that the person is not missing as well, which does not bode well for Mollie.

I think what LE clearly doesn't know is where Mollie is..and the may be hoping POI will lead them to her.

I don’t disagree. Going off my initial post a couple threads ago. I feel the LE knows the end result and the details they have support that. But

Clearly doesn’t know? They are not releasing any information to the media yet asking for leads and tips, suddenly having regularly PC’s, and if reports are true won’t give detailed information to the family to protect their case because it may be a loved one involved...I’ll just say again with my background and schooling....I’m guessing LE got A LOT of info from her digital devices. Things seemed to change a bit once that info came in. I’m not overly fond with how this LE has handled things <modsnipped> Again simply my opinion.

I thought that moment was very powerful and raw. Like "No one cares if we are sleeping and I certainly don't care that I am not sleeping." Nothing really to conclude but a Dad who is all in.

Dad said LE not sharing info with family and one reason is that a loved one or family member might be implicated in the crime.

I paraphrase this. We'll get a video later to review. .

I'm catching up and wanted to say something about this statement....if this is indeed true I don't think she's alive. Why would a loved one/family member keep her alive, too risky and she would be able to identify them? I am so flummoxed by this case!

I am born and raised in Iowa and am somewhat familiar with Brooklyn and the surrounding areas. Although the town itself is very small, the surrounding areas where you would search is incredibly overwhelming... making it really difficult to send the cadaver dogs just everywhere. My brother in law has a drug dog (he's LE) and while both drug and cadaver dogs can do amazing things, they have their limitations. It takes an incredible amount of set up to get these dogs prepped and ready to search. When you do set them off to search, they only last so long before they get tired, distracted, etc. Due to this and many other circumstances (costs, time, you name it) they typically only get them involved when they evidence or tips to search specific areas. Brooklyn is quite honestly probably one of the worst places she could have vanished simply because of how incredibly rural it is all around the town... it's overwhelming.

The man who lives by the pig farm and has 2 priors for stalking. I'm not pointing fingers at him because those were a long time ago and we don't know the circumstances. It could have been someone that he thought was cheating on him....who knows.
My question is, do people usually know when they are going to be interviewed by a reporter and on TV? This looked like an impromptu interview to me. He was nervous and unkempt. Personally, I wouldn't allow myself to be interviewed in a big case like this, unless it was my loved one at stake. Plus couldn't he or anyone refuse the reporter? He might not have known that though.
My gosh what a terrible position to be put in, innocent or guilty!
I too thought this was impromptu. I really think somebody tipped a reporter about this man being interviewed by LE and media showed up at his door. Very strange given an investigation with such control over the details...
