I don't have any studies to reference but I am certain that easy exposure to online *advertiser censored* has made the world a more dangerous place for women.
I agree
before internet, guys did more bowling/sports/reading [ ''less''--less graphic'' *advertiser censored* ] /listening to the radio [sports-etc ] /pool halls/yard work/etc etc

Someone saw her running East on W Pershing Dr towards the Funeral Home, and someone saw her running near the Funeral Home. CCTV was collected from Casey's General Store, but that may have been to identify vehicles in the area, and not because Mollie was seen in the area.

That's what I was looking for -- thanks! I remember someone saying he/she saw her, but she wasn't running, and was on her phone?

Isn't vandalism a very different thing than burglary? In terms of LE terminology. The dispatch report says criminal mischief, correct? I would assume that if there were items stolen, the incident would be reported as a burglary/theft, not vandalism.

Well it would depend on whether the store owners realized anything had been taken..especially if a window had been smashed out. Has this store been vandalized before? Have other buildings nearby been vandalized recently? Are groups of bored teenagers known to hang out and cause mischief in Brooklyn?

Touching the face is not indicative of lying. However, inconsistent / contrary movements (like shaking head no, when saying yes) are indications as is other body language. There are some great books and courses on this subject and the FBI is very experienced in that area.

Increased hand-to-face contact tends to signal deception. Hand-to-face contact increases with cognitive load and with the initiation of the fight or flight response. Liars often experience the fight or flight response and an increase in cognitive load, which causes stress. In order to accurately track increases in hand-to-face contact, a baseline must be established during times when the person being interviewed has no reason to lie. Any changes from the baseline may indicate deception.

Detecting Deception by Observing Hand-to-Face Touching

I also think the dogs are valuable in promoting the theory that she wasn't abducted from inside the house. Mollie's boyfriend stated that the dogs would be free to roam the home if she was home and they would more than likely sleep on her bed. He also said that the pit/lab mix would have had something to say about it should someone break in and try to harm Mollie. To me that indicates that she was taken while out of the home and that that is what the family believes happened too.

Yes. Darn. It just reminded me of the false sense of security I have with my dogs. But they can’t protct me locked away or not with me on a walk.

It also reminded me and I’m curious if the house and surrounding area was canine searched.

There are rescue dogs that recognize the specific scents we produce when stressed. They linger a while. I don’t know if cadaver or tracking canines are cross trained or if it’s part of the bundle they are trained to alert on.

Another factoid we don’t know.

I touched on this earlier but pacifying gestures are often indicative of nervousness. But without a baseline and with multiple reasons for being nervous that are in fact, not nefarious, there really isn’t much to be gleaned.

error? ''post reply'' before done with reply?
Referencing "Mica" post. Just where people put a periods as a comment, & no text. I actually see it a lot. Have googled this & come up with nothing. Thanks

Hello everyone. LLTNS! I cant believe the last time I posted was in April. I am finally being able to throughly enjoy being with my hubby who finally retired this year.

Sorry for the lengthy post. I have missed all of you, and maybe I will have more time in the future to post more often. :)

Ocean

RSBM. You’ve been missed, but I’m so happy to hear how much you are enjoying your husband’s retirement!!

Hello everyone. LLTNS! I cant believe the last time I posted was in April. I am finally being able to throughly enjoy being with my hubby who finally retired this year.

I have been following Mollie's case in the news. I have felt from the beginning the suspect is from the area who knew Mollie would be alone, and knew the other three would be gone. In such small towns that could have been overheard at a convenience store. I do believe LE knows much more than they are saying.

I tend to believe the red shirt found has relevancy to the case because LE began to really search that area extensively. If they thought it had no link, such as, wrong size, aged, and ragged I do not believe they would have been this interested with that area. I also think the tech data is pointing them to this general area.

It wouldn't surprise me if the suspect is known to Mollie even if it is not closely. I tend to believe she made it back from her jog and was taken later. That is just speculation on my part since LE seems to want to keep the timeline a secret. I do believe they do know the approximate time the abduction took place and where. Whoever this is could have waited until she finished her jog and then waited until much later.....even in the early hours of the next morning to enter the home.

Imo, I think one of the reasons LE doesn't want to announce a specific time she was taken is because they want the suspect to think they think she was taken during her jog. If that is not the case then if he created a false alibi it would not be for the time they know she was taken. LE wants to keep him guessing on what they actually have discovered and know. I do think they do have particular POIs and are narrowing it down to one.

I think they are looking for one suspect. I do not believe more than one was involved. One person unfortunately could easily abduct a petite young woman and it has happened so many times before by one lone perp.

I wish I believed she is being held against her will somewhere, but rarely is that the outcome, and much more often the victim met their demise within less than 24 hours of being taken.

I don't know who the suspect will turnout to be in the end, but it very well could be someone Mollie thought could be trusted in her community. Maybe someone she wasn't even close to but a friendly familiar face. I think Mollie would have opened the door if she heard a knock even if it was late or early morning. She, like all there, felt safe in this small close knit community until this happened.

It also would not surprise me if the suspect is hiding in plain sight, and may have even attended searches.

Sorry for the lengthy post. I have missed all of you, and maybe I will have more time in the future to post more often. :)

Hi Ocean glad to see your back just like you I've recently come back from a long hiatus. As usual a great post!

Thanks so much for the picture. So the glass on the front door was shattered. Do you know how long after the incident your picture was taken? I'm still not convinced the 2 incidents aren't related. Has anyone been charged and are there any security cameras there? Thanks for your patience with my questions!
I don't know if there are cameras there or not, nor do I know if there's really much of an "investigation" into it. I wouldn't be surprised if they just document it and file the insurance claim.

I don't get it. If she "typically" collected the car in the evenings....why the heck was no one concerned she didn't show up to get it?? Or that she never responded about the hot dog dinner? I really don't think the family is involved but as a mom, I cannot understand why these non-typical actions didn't raise a red flag sooner...
I am sure her mom and brothers are beating themselves up over that. But for whatever reason, it did not raise any red flags at the time.

I don’t believe she was taken from the house with no evidence found. I also don’t believe a perp would allow her to bring her phone with her knowingly and if there was a struggle, she held onto it the entire time and never let go of it.

Also the perp wouldn’t take it away but keep it with him and along for the ride creating a trail of evidence for LE to trace.

If this fits what happened.... I am expecting LE to find the phone before they find MT.

Also, there are 2 separate scenes.. a crime scene, is where she was taken and a discovery scene, where she is found.

So where was the crime scene? It has to be directly outside the house or somewhere off the street/highway between the bf house and moms house is my guess.

..I'm ''constantly'' thinking about communication/lack of/the communication from my daughters and wife
...however--I come from a ''bad hood''
..security awareness is second nature to me
..I might question the smallest, least suspicious detail--not because I'm insane/obsessed-but because it is second nature
..some people are not like that
..the Japanese were bombing Pearl Harbor and some thought it was the US training--an attack was the farthest thing from their minds
..some Olympic athletes helped the terrorists climb the fences for the 1972 attack on the Israelis
..for some, security awareness is far from their minds
..some of these people in Brooklyn said they never locked their doors--this after many previous high profile murders/crime in the US
..I double check my doors at night and make sure they are locked during the day

Usually it just means the poster changed their mind and since we no longer have a "delete" option, the periods are used. Some just change their post to "deleted".
