trying to keep up despite work deadlines—but impressive what this group has pieced together from the pieces of info out there. I’m sure there are profilers out there in WS rank and I know several theories have been put forward. It seems like if she was abducted on her run the top profile might be “sex offender who knew her through family connections of some kind”—someone familiar enough to her not to cause immediate concern. She might not even have known about his past. I think that over random Abduction/Sk. Someone who could not control their urges.

If she disappeared from the house (eg evidence she came back from her jog and stayed put) then my bet is that it’s more likely a friend or someone well known to her. Maybe an accident or crime of passion or assault? Am on any kind of a right track with this thinking? Obviously could give 2 very different pools of suspects.
Personally, I think in either case (on the jog or after returning home) that it’s someone she knew. Seems like more than a coincidence that all of her housemates were away. Not suggesting housemates had anything to do with it, but I believe whoever took her knew she was home alone.

Again...according to abduction research and data available online, where the female victim in her 20's was found alive.

The following would have to be the scenario for the most favorable outcome. This is just #'s and stats, nothing else. I am not privy to any of this information or cannot confirm one way or the other what happened.

A complete stranger abduction (not family/known person) and taken against her will, she was last seen alive in public, (not home), she was in the middle of doing something, and she had a purpose being outside but was interrupted by a stranger and she never arrived at point B, in this case, her job or possibly never completed her jogging route. Finally, she is being held against her will, in this case, reward $ being offered for her safe release.

Again, this would have to be the formula for what happened to MT to have the most favorable outcome possible.

Just curious why many members keep mentioning the red shirt.

Didn’t Mollie’s own mother tell the Daily Mail that Mollie only owned two of those red shirts, both of which were NOT missing?

Mother of missing Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts says she does not believe she returned home | Daily Mail Online

From the link: Laura Calderwood told DailyMail.com that she had found two of her daughter’s red work shirts in her bedroom but could not be certain there wasn’t a third somewhere.

How I wish cities and towns would require cameras. If folks congregate there should be security cameras. I think they can act as a deterrent too.

CAMERA on BIZ helped move case along -
Case that brought it home for me was Carlie Brucia.

City of Durham put cameras along part of their Greenway - crime went down where the cameras were!

Crime went way down in Virginia Beach after they put in cameras.

I can't figure out why it hasn't happened yet. Figured insurance companies would want businesses to have cameras too. Is there something I am missing about cameras being a bad thing for business owners?

I agree.

Especially in such a small town as Brooklyn. Even if they would have put a few cameras on both ends of the main streets then they could know who is coming and going if a crime ever happens.

The cameras are so inexpensive anymore and easy to install. The city would want more fancy ones than I just got but I have 7 cameras now and there is no monthly fee. I originally bought 3 and then ordered 4 more when I saw how great they work. I may still get robbed but at least I know they will be on camera the moment the motion detection kicks in and captures them and puts it on the server. Even if they broke in and destroyed my camera home station receiver its too late for them as the server already has the recording.

I am sure the city could invest a few buck and setup some nice cameras that would not be too expensive.

Can somebody please clarify for me exactly what time the vandalism incident occurred and how far from Mollie’s known data points? Tia. Also what is the source of this info, tia.
Incident was reported by barkeep after she closed up bar and was heading home. We researched this the other night so I am going from memory. Hardware closed at 6 pm and bar closed at 12 midnight. Source of info was also posted the other night and was local media. Sorry I can't go back to prior threads easily while on my phone, but I'm sure you can find it. Someone later posted a picture of the damage to the ft door of the hardware. Looked like someone had hit it with a baseball bat and it had partially shattered in the corner.

Are their purchases regulated at all? Could LE know who has one? Understand of course some weapons may start out trackable and then slip to the dark side. I am not sure how stun guns work?
Not where I live they are not and they are easily ordered online. I have several since I hate using a gun and I travel the roads (especially interstates) constantly.
I can carry and have before, I just don't ever want to have to make that decision.

It seems like there would have had to be a third shirt. She had to wear it the next day for work and there doesn’t seem to be any concrete plans to go to her Moms house to her one. Of course that doesn’t mean there wasn’t one at the BF house or even one at her job. They may have passed them out at work and she just left it there to change into when she got to work.

Yes, this scenario is a possibility. The black SUV could have been doing a 'final reconnaissance' driving around the neighborhood for awhile to confirm no one was paying attention in that part of town (homes dark indicating neighbors had gone to bed, no one outside) nor had anyone returned unexpectedly to the house where Mollie was staying alone. From what I recall about the house, it was somewhat isolated/at the end of town, and the only close neighbor was the utility business with no one there at that hour.

There is a house next door that appears to be close

Dear Emerald1328,

Your post shows how compassionate and kind you are.

Thank you for this.

There are so many wonderful people on these threads who genuinely care about Mollie's whereabouts. You are certainly one of them.

Thank you for the kind words, I definitely needed them today! So many of the cases I follow haven’t been solved in months/years, and in many instances the body hasn’t even been found. Every time I revisit one of those threads and there is nothing new, I think about deleting the bookmark on my browser. But I don’t. These people cannot have us give up on them.

Not saying it’s related, but I wouldn’t be quick to dismiss its significance, shall we be dealing with a local, drunk, agitated, violent perp. We know Jeffrey Willis was at the bar/game room very close to the convenience store from where Jessica H was abducted. I’ll try to find the discussion you are refencing, thank you JoJoJo.

Cameras are great but with cameras you get what you pay for. Most inexpensive cctv cameras are so pix-elated when blown up even small amount and you cannot tell what the person looks like. Lighting has to be good with almost all cameras of low to middle cost. Even higher cost cameras. I do not see many cctv systems in small towns. The safe little town feeling that people want to hold onto usually stops it as well as cost. They use to have dvrs with tapes that would roll over after about 24 hrs but now they have dvrs and cams that you can remotely see on your phone as well as store video for a long time depending on size of hard drive it has. The fbi can clean bad pix-elated video up a little but you can only do so much with it. IP cameras have ghosting on movement and need a lot of light to get anything at night. You can have cameras that have motion activated alert if something moves in an area specified by you on the software and sent to your phone but those tend to go off if anything blows through or walks through.

RSBM and O/T, but what type are they? I was just looking the other day at some but have held off for now pending further research & budgeting...

and from the same article Mom says they were getting a warrant from google for her 3 email accounts. By now, I am thinking they have a lot of data. Her twitter is still public and she seems full of compassion. I hope it turns out an unstable "friend" has her. 3 weeks is a long time...

Did you read the DSM Register article talking about Snapchat? It was a little confusing but it's my understanding that some of the metadata stays for 30 days so as long as they contact snapchat quickly, they'll save the data so it can be preserved and obtained with the proper paperwork. 88% of the time they'll release any information instantly if they have probably cause to think it needs to be released to LE. It can let them know last whereabouts and etc. from the app. It doesn't save the actual PHOTO that was sent or anything like that.. but they CAN get info from Snapchat, not exactly sure how helpful that info will be though.

I was slightly confused by this information about Snapchat. I don't understand why they say that it only is kept for 30 days when there's the feature on SnapChat that shows you your SnapChat memories for that day from last year. It lets you view whatever you snapped to your story from that past date again. Unless there is a setting or something I'm missing in the app? I use it, but I'm not always up on all the things you can do with it. Unless that is all just saved on my phone somewhere? ( I guess being in your 30s makes me an old lady for such things lol)

Is it normal in cases such as these that the SM sites remain public. I thought they are usually set to private.

Interesting. Hadn’t really thought of that possibility. I’m assuming LE would still find some trace of this person in Mollie’s electronic communications.

Peeking in during work day as i have since after learning of MT missing 7/20

Keeping all potential scenarios going, I'd like to add thoughts to this one.

Reference was made early on i believe in a news video that MT was a fighter and another side of her was good let's say at kidding around (smart aleck).

What if ... with her foot in psychology and being resposible to a point, she completed her summer course work and went on to a self-imposed 28 day time out to cleanse some habits or demons, in a manner suggested where another came and got her.

Ditching her phone and personal fitness tracker, severing ties for a time.
I don't think unreasonable to think considering expectation given by family and close friends looking for her to return. Yes, may be out of character for MT up till now, but not beyond realm of possibility. Same need for clues and tips apply to afford case possible closure and best protect safety of all, so hopefully people still observe and call.

I have by no means forsaken potential of unwanted taken and have posted previously about 2012 Sherry Arnold case in MT, dissappeared while running, only single running shoe found roadside.

Trying cases indeed.

You don’t think you could get up right now, walk out to a waiting vehicle and just leave?
I feel I could and even more so if I could pick the time, like night. could be a few states away before even noticed gone. not having contacts or glasses...who keeps count of a adults contacts and glasses. no one knows how much or little cash I have at any given time or how long I have had it.

she could be gone by choice, she could have started out gone by choice, she could be gone completely not by choice.

I do not use Snapchat at all but my understanding is that the story content is handled differently from content sent in messages.
