I read a good bit of Mollie’s Twitter feed, and my takeaway is that she seemed a well-adjusted, happy, funny young woman with positive people in her life. The only thing that stands out in any of her social media is that Dad is the only parent talked about or pictured. That could be simply because he lives apart from Mollie.

I am honestly enraged at the thought of someone stopping her, or any young person in their tracks. Absolutely heartless, and the stories are told and retold. I hold out a small bit of hope that she may still be of this world.

and if a person is in the way of them doing this to finance their habit? I don't know that I agree with this Norman Rockwell we don't lock our doors and have no or very little cctv stuck in 1950 town. where there is meth there is crime and where there is very much crime there are cctv on most all retail and at least some homes. someone could easy be on cctv to do with this. if they are a 1tb system with 4 cameras is about to start recording over the time period in question.

It really is a Norman Rockwell type town complete with a one road downtown and an old time gas station. It is small, everyone knows everyone. People who grow up here normally don't move they stay in the immediate area or carry on the family tradition wether it is farming or another industry, they've all grown up together from childhood to now adults with children. Doors aren't locked and people are trusting. The crime isn't as much in Brooklyn as it is in some surrounding areas.

On a side note, a few years ago a rival high school stole the "L" out of the Brooklyn town sign so it read "BROOKLYN - CITY of F AGS" instead of "BROOKLYN - CITY OF FLAGS" This was quite the talk in the area.

Due to the small town thing and the comments about LE probably knowing about “suspicious” people.... I really don’t think anyone from in town did it. It has to be someone from out of town, otherwise that’s just too obvious. I am still suspecting a serial or random hit. Keep in mind, this person isn’t going to do her in and then hang around his nice little small town where everybody has known him for 25 years. I think the perp is going to end up being somebody who is mobile and is from out of town. Could have been driving through and seen her jogging the night before. Decided to hang out for a day and check her out. Found her to be an easy target. Anyway, if it were local, I don’t think this many FBI would be on the case. As others mentioned much earlier, I think the FBI is trying to catch someone who has done this to others, and maybe feels like this case is similar to some others.

I think the father is probably taking some information from their conversation and hoping against hope that maybe some ex boyfriend has her or something. I don’t think an ex boyfriend would be that stupid though.

Not to me. Exactly like he is doing his best to believe this scenario.

I'm with you on this one, even if we're the only ones. I think this is a heartbroken dad trying everything he can think of to get his daughter back. I don't think he has inside information. If LE put him up to this, I think it would have been in a major press conference aired by the networks as a message to the the person directly.

Agreed - is that a normal call length for them?, subjects covered?, etc???
Mollie's dad listed topics in his first interview on MSM of their long call, which was about 3 hours, and I think he said was the last time he spoke with her the previous Sunday I think.

They talked about his recent wedding in CA where she was his "best man", her plans for school studies, books they were reading or had read, "that sort of thing", he said. It seemed to me he was implying everything was "A-okay" when they last spoke, and many many posts here in previous threads (maybe all the threads even) have gone back and forth about the length of the call and whether it is normal (for some daughters & fathers) or could be construed as unusual (for others).

I had many long, deep conversations like this with my dad when I was away at college and across the country that went for hours sometimes, whereas my calls with my mom were much more concise and logistics oriented (do you have everything you need, did you pay your phone bill?). He was also the one who gave me advice on boyfriend problems, etc. Never my mom, who was much more practical and would say things like "why bother with him if you have reservations?", whereas my dad would talk everything through with me. JMOE (just my own experience) that seems similar to Mollie's and does not raise any real red flags for me.

There are some very very stupid ex-boyfriends out there...which is why they are ex-boyfriends.

Read the Alexandra Brueger thread; another female jogger. In her case, she was gunned down on a country road. POI is ex-boyfriend.
All amateur opinion and speculation.

Or someone who saw her or met her at her job and became obsessed with her.

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your insights about the town. It has been really helpful to see through a local's eyes.

I guess I just hope that police have any cctv out there from time in question, not just from the gas station and school, others likely have it, if police don't have it I hope whoever has the cctv backs up time in question because when it is recorded over it is gone. it is time consuming to go threw cctv footage but a back up takes just a few seconds and could be gone threw at a latter date.
