I think it's still ok to state, "She was last seen wearing..." even if they have accounted for the outfit. It's misleading to those of us with no true connection to the case, but it may jog the memory of a local who remembers, "Oh yeah, I saw a person wearing that, and they were outside XYZ, talking to an older man with glasses," for example. It could help to get some pieces of what may have been occurring right before she went missing.

They apparently just want the media to save all their questions for the press conference, so they can refuse to answer all the questions at the same time. I expect that the Friday PC will just be another 15 minutes of absolutely nothing except the investigators praising themselves for the great job they are doing.
Exactly my thoughts. The only time the agent showed any type of personality was when he discussed food.

Have LE ever said, "there has been no activity on her financial accounts"? I haven't seen any mention of that, but it's obviously possible, if not likely, that I just missed it. But that's something that is usually reported.

I am having a hard time with the contacts and glasses thing. I guess it’s the Optician in me. First of all, had Mollie disconnected and went off grid, she would need a supply of contacts. Hopefully they have spoken to her eye professional and determined when she got contacts/glasses last and accounted or not accounted for glasses and contacts. I have looked at her pictures and even in her running photos she isn’t wearing glasses and as a Optician, most people cannot wear contacts running due to oncoming air/wind drying them out. Also, had she been abducted and was wearing glasses and a struggle occurred, those glasses have came off. I would be on the lookout for lost eyewear in this town. Either in the land field or garbage crew pickups. Eyewear is like a fingerprint, very individual: specific sphere, cylinder, axis, pd, Optical Center, prism, frame size, color, model. I think it was the Leopold and Loeb case where a pair of eyeglasses busted the case wide open. Even the best disposable contacts today we are looking at max wear of four weeks continuous wear.

Was her eyesight (glasses/contacts) mentioned by the media or something? I missed this part, but find it interesting. Some people wear glasses/contacts but can still see ok enough without them to survive. (I am not one of those people) I get 4pair/yr. Last time I reordered he said 1 pair could last a year if taken care of. So without knowing her specific situation, who really knows? I do realize that wearing daily throw aways are the norm...but if that’s the case, is her vision too bad for her to survive without them? (Mine are coopervision hydrasoft toric btw)

I don't think she cashed in her ticket and decided to travel overseas - that seems like something we'd know about - but going overseas isn't very difficult, unless you are going to a country that requires a visa or will have language issues (think isolated or non-touristy places.)

"If" a passport had been tracked the Pressers would be very different. We would know that. There would be no need for locals to be reporting anything unusual that comes to mind etc. etc. LE may want to touch base with her to ensure she was fine but other than that she would simply be an adult who walked away. I have never believed from the start Mollie disappeared herself. I still don't.

They haven't actually indicated whether or not her passport is accounted for, but I *think* that if it was missing, they would have said. The actions taken so far seem to indicate that they began by looking locally, which might not be the case if the passport was missing.

Her bf's mother said that Mollie can't see without them:

All of her identification and wallet is at my sons house. Along with both her glasses and contacts, she cannot see without them.”

As of yesterday, LE says " Her last known article of clothing is believed to be dark colored running shorts, a pink sports top and running shoes, color unknown."
Mollie Tibbetts Investigation Update

Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought the pink sports top/bra and running shorts was what she was wearing the last time she was seen, not necessarily when she vanished?

The red t-shirt and denim shorts come into play because perhaps that was the typical outfit she wore on those camp field trip days at work, and after looking through her clothes, they might not have been there? If I recall, the mother said the red t-shirt was missing.

Of course, LE doesn't want to confirm any of this and keep everybody guessing. However, I believe there has been significant momentum in the possibility Mollie made it back to the house after the run.

I think disclosing this information to the neighbor Cullen isn't that far fetched. If the FitBit data said Mollie made it back after the run, it would make sense to ask Cullen to confirm this as a potential witness.

I agree with you.
The outfit mentioned was the last one she was SEEN in.
The red shirt, (i read this here, somewhere but no clue where) was what the staff were wearing to the event with work the next day.
If Mollie was planning to go to work from her BFs house the next morning, the red shirt should be there, if she went missing while jogging. If she was planning on going home before work, the shirt should be at home

Here is my understanding and / or speculation:

I believe she was to have gotten the car from her mom's house on Wednesday night, and that she would've driven herself to work in the morning. I think she might have even generally done most of her morning getting ready routine at her home and not at the bf's house. It's been unclear whether she spent a lot of *nights* at the boyfriend's place or just spent a lot of *time* at his place but my guess is that most of her stuff was at her own home and that she didn't necessarily take a suitcase over there to dogsit. When our son was in college and home for the summer, he did some house sitting but would always come on home in the mornings to shower and change and grab breakfast before heading off to work.

So basically, I think the brother was surprised to see the car they shared was still at home when he woke up in the morning. Knowing she'd have to hoof it home to get ready before jumping in the car and driving off to work, and that it looked like she was maybe running late, he texted her at 7:30 and asked if she needed a ride home (as in he was offering to drive over and pick her up so she wouldn't have to walk / run the mile home).

If I've put those pieces together correctly, I kind of suspect that she returned to the bf's after her run, showered (maybe) and started doing homework, and then someone stopped by the house and visiting with that encounter prevented her from walking back to her own home to get the car at a reasonable hour. I wonder if that person then offered to run her home so she could get the car, and she left willingly with them taking her phone but nothing else.

I know her wallet was at the bf's house. What about her car keys? Do we know if they were there, too? Or do we know if there was another set that would've been in the car? I realize leaving her wallet behind means she didn't have her license on her, but it was just a mile's drive and it's not uncommon for small towns to not have their own police force or for the police to be off duty except for emergencies late at night, so there'd be no danger of being stopped.
It seems as if she shared the car with her brother, so she wouldn't have the keys, if her brother drove it to the mom's, as it sounds like. He would have the keys to the car.

Apologies for breaking the rules yesterday. Got carried away on a gut feeling I've had from the beginning and maybe one to many beers and b-rips while pretending to "work" from home. The PC was very frustrating and I hope for their sake that they find her or they have wasted valuable time "sitting" on what information they have which could create new leads.

Yes i know.
And at one point it was a black top or sports bra

At the moment I will go with the pink as it has come directly from LE

I’ve read she was recorded on video surveillance cameras, so maybe that’s how they’re pretty sure of her clothing for the time she was out running, as well as the neighbor(s) who saw her run or walk by.
What's the timeline of Mollie Tibbetts' disappearance?

I wonder if her bf recalled what Mollie was wearing in that Snapchat pic he opened to view at 10pm Wed?

That they didn’t mention the red shirt and denim shorts clothing perhaps means they likely think she went missing before she got ready on Thurs morning, as the red shirt was the best guess for her Thurs wear. Since they now have her timeline that they feel confident about, due to her Fitbit info.

I'm not sure if she means that literally - before LASIK I would say something similar about myself even though I could read and see well enough to talk to people, take a shower, make coffee, etc. You wouldn't want me on the road.

Also when I was nearsighted insurance covered either glasses or contacts. I don't remember them ever covering both. It's possible that MT took an old pair of glasses - most of us who've worn glasses for a while have a bunch of pairs around the house.
