I think it could have been done easily without an accomplice. All he had to do was pull up right in front of her. Moving quickly, he could have easily caught up with her. I don't think she had the chance to run very far at all. She was probably just a short distance from the trunk of the car. It would have been easy to strike her in the head and drag or pull her to the trunk. Jmo
He possibly threatened her with a knife to get in the car. He may stabbed her there when she didn’t comply. That would definitely explain any Fitbit data showing distress in her vitals.

I never said it was the right way, it’s just how I do it.

And after this incident I will be even more vigilant when I think someone is supposed to be somewhere and doesn’t show up, but that’s how I am.

I don’t tell someone I’ll be over and then never just show up, I know lots of people are like that though.

And I can’t find any article yet that says the dessert was for Friday, only this article, stating it was for work.

Disappearance of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts remains a mystery
I think i read it was for a work party on Friday but don’t remenber where i read that

I think it was in an Interview with one of Mollie's co-workers early in that the dessert was for a co-workers Birthday on the Friday. Lovely gesture on her part and it just seems so Mollie sigh.......

Thank you, I came into this crime late in the game and had only heard she was making it for a field trip.

She was a beautiful person by all accounts, she had so much ahead of her!

Yes, I'm on the fence about the phone. I know a lot of people think he ditched it to hide evidence, but I lean between he left it on her body (my current lean) and he took it with him to sell. JMO - and probably not a popular one.
That would definitely explain why it never powered back up. He probably powered it down and left it with her. But I have a weird feeling, he kept something as a kind of momento.

For this to happen, I would think there could have been an accomplice perhaps driving the car IMO. I wonder if LE looked at all of carseats used for CR kid. I am trying to think what would make MT talk to this guy, perhaps he started of talking about his daughter or something.

I've never thought there was an accomplice and still feel pretty certain about that. I think he did his evil all by himself. I could certainly be wrong. I also don't think Mollie had a voluntary conversation with him. She was on her run and just wanted him to leave her alone. If it's true what he said, that she threatened to call police if he didn't, that tells me there was likely no conversation. She wanted to finish her run and go to her mom's, but all just my thoughts.

MOO

My only problem with that scenario is that DJ said she usually ran for 45 minutes. A 2.2 mile run would only take her 15-20 minutes. There's nothing to say that she wasn't doing a shorter run that night, of course. But it would have been out of her routine.

If she had planned to go back to DJ’s house and not her Mom’s that would have almost been about 4.4 miles, maybe she was going to shower before dinner?

If there was an accomplice, they would have turned on one another by now.

Plus it rained only a few hours later, which could have disabled it, too. If he left it with her, I don't think he would have worried about powering it down, but who knows what was going through his mind. Keeping it does open to question what he did with it. It would say a lot about who he is.

How do you read her Mom’s statement?

I read it as she was expecting Mollie for dinner, am I missing something?

According to Calderwood, Tibbetts said she would be home and asked what they were having. “Brats,” she replied. “Ok,” Tibbetts responded.

But dinner came and went, Calderwood said, and Tibbetts didn’t come home.
it sounds like she said okay to the brats not ok as to i’ll be there

I'm thinking her intention was to go from DJ's house to 385th Ave and 200 St., then back on 385th Ave. to town and onto Mom's. JMO

Does anyone know what kind of phone CR had? I keep thinking of the 5-10 pm thing. I am wondering if their phones were pinging together during the 45 minutes and maybe they were able to isolate his. I hope that doesn’t mean he was cruising for a victim as early as 5pm. I am leaning toward him having a burner phone maybe.

Mollie’s heart rate was captured the entire time she was wearing her Fitbit. When her heart stopped, I assume that the declining heart rate was recorded as it went lower stopping at zero bpm. Below is a screen capture of my Fitbit data for heart rate. The first break in the chart is when I’d gone swimming and removed the FitB from my wrist. The second break is when I had removed it so I could charge it. (I wear mine continuously unless I shower, swim, or charge it). NOTICE the breaks. If someone dies while wearing a Fitbit, I assume that the declining rate, bpm, would be recorded to the Fitbit dashboard.

Good memory. ;)
“It was her idea to plan it on Friday afternoon, right after work,” Dugas said. “It was one of the other co-worker’s birthdays, so we were going to get a cake.”
Family, co-workers fear for ‘bubbly, cheerful’ teen who vanished

If he decides to plead guilty, they can’t go ahead with a trial just because.
Jmo

I agree. A hundred people would file suit accusing them of grandstanding and a gross waste of taxpayers dollars.

It will be some time before the defense can ascertain the evidence the prosecution has against CBR. And only then will he either listen to his attorneys I not.

Remember the attorneys get paid either way. More if it proceeds to trial.

I only read it as it was reported and worded, I can’t speculate against what her mother said.

According to Calderwood, Tibbetts said she would be home.....
