Legal Definition of procedendo
: an extraordinary writ ordering a lower court to proceed to or execute a judgment

Procedendo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In common-law jurisprudence, procedendo is one of the prerogative writs. It is a writ that sends a case from an appellate court to a lower court with an order to proceed to judgment.

The writ of procedendo is merely an order from a court of superior jurisdiction to one of inferior jurisdiction to proceed to judgment. It does not in any case attempt to control the inferior court as to what that judgment should be.[1]

Thank you for your updates !!

Finally, let's hope it sticks with all the delays due to Covid-19.
IMO-they should be well prepared by then. However, I'm not sure how much they can be doing on the preparation right now. Not sure how that works with the restricitons in Iowa right now. IMO-there are no trials until June, so not sure if they can't do any preparing until then either.

Would hope they have all discovery items by now- so with COVID sheltering, they should have nothing but time to prepare! It’s almost 2 years since Mollie set out on her last evening jog. Two years since she cheered up a friend, said something kind to the homeless people near her college, made her camp kids laugh, or ate brats with her mom. Two years since she hugged her bf at a football game. (Who I read somewhere joined the military & was overseas- didn’t seem like that was part of his life plan until this ahole bludgeoned his love & made him need to leave town for a while).
So... I’m damn done with the frickn delays here. Lock this serial-psycho-in-the-making up where he’ll be in anguish for the rest of his sorry-*advertiser censored* life. Perhaps it’s the quarantining- I’m more impatient for justice than usual. And this dipwad is really gettin’ on my nerves.:mad::eek:

Dragged her into woods and then covered her with corn leaves. Somebody should edit their stories.

This is the case that brought me to Websleuths. Hard to believe nearly two years and still no justice.
Mollie was dragged into a cornfield, not the woods. The perp is in jail and he will stay there no matter how long this case takes through the courts.

Mollie Tibbetts: Trial date set for alleged killer accused of murdering young college jogger, hiding her 500 yards into cornfield

Good News:

Bahena Rivera, 26, will stand trial for first-degree murder, starting September 29, in connection with the July 2018 death of Tibbetts. A judge previously postponed the trial in order to allow the Iowa Supreme Court time to determine if Rivera’s Rivera’s Miranda rights had been violated when authorities interrogated him, Des Moines Register reports.

The Supreme Court ultimately denied the defense team’s request.

Thank you @katydid23 ! It's hard to imagine the tactics this defense team has ready to tangle up this trial.
As always praying for Mollies loved ones to find strength and comfort through this judicial maze .
Her life was taken in a heinous brutal manner. May the sentence reflect that MOO MOO

Mollie Tibbetts: Trial date set for alleged killer accused of murdering young college jogger, hiding her 500 yards into cornfield

No, according to this article and others, she was dragged into the woods, then carried to a cornfield.
I’m guessing this article was first written across the pond. And republished by multiple sources that don’t proofread or check their math. The article references the “meters” he dragged her- 20 meters (65 feet) and conflicts with the headline- 500 yards (1500 feet). A local reporter would report in feet, not meters, mo. I also doubt the accuracy of “woods”. Jmo.

“The suspect allegedly said he... dragged her... into a secluded area in the woods.... then tossed Mollie over his shoulders and walked around 20 meters into the woods... the affidavit read.”
